Hotel Canada was an excellent choice for my group. The staff was wonderful. The hotel provided a buffet breakfast that was plentiful and in the evening at the bar there were snacks available. Rooms were spacious and clean as was the private bath. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We stayed at Hoel Canada for 4 nights in June and thought it was just wonderful for a 3* hotel. All the staff were pleasant and extremely helpful. Worth a special mention is both the breakfast ~~outstanding range of Continental food, and the bar ~~a range of free nibbles provided for customers and unbelievable value-for-money prices! The hotel is only a short walk from the Termini Station, so convenient for getting to anywhere in Rome. It is not in the most luxurious area by any means, but was safe and well-lit and there were lots of small restaurants and Trattorias nearby.

The concierge was very professional, nice, and helpful. The breakfast buffet staff were also very good, as was the buffet. Overall we were very pleased with the hotel, except one small negative.....our room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. To be fair, we did not mention this to the staff, so we can't hold it against them.

I love this hotel, it is the only place I stay when I am in Rome. The rooms are beautiful and individual, with lovely antique furniture and spacious storage facilities. The staff are very kind and professional, the bar area is great, the breakfast super. Frankly, I have nothing bad to say about this place. I look forward to returning.

Superb hotel. Very friendly staff and very helpful. Close to station and very close to a metro stration. Good eating places nearby providing good value for money compared to the rip off places near the main tourist sites. Excellent breakfast, super size rooms and also quiet unlike other hotels we've stayed in where traffic noise is constant. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The only things to note are 1) There was someone else's used hand towel thrown over the shower curtain and 2)The "double" bed was 2 twins pushed together, which kept splitting apart. Otherwise a great, clean hotel. Would stay again.

Very nice hotel. Rooms are excellent. Free wifi/internet access. Super breakfast and lovely, helpful staff. Location is ideal - metro just around the corner and Termini station only 5 minutes walk away. Very reasonably priced bar and room service. Great restaurants close by. Would definately stay here again.

Hotel staff speaks good english and was very helpful and professional. Common area in lobby with nice seating and available bar service was very good. Our kids used a Wi video game system that was available free to all guests in the common area (a bit hit with them). They also had free small snacks and cookies in the bar area. Rooms were very large for Europe and very nice. Hotel location was very convenient (walking distance from main train station Rome Termini), but the area itself was just OK as is expected being so close to the train station. We took the subway at Rome Termini to go to all of the common tourist sites. Overall, we were extremely happy with this hotel and would highly recommend it.

My wife and I stayed two nights in a corner room on the 2nd floor (3rd floor for USA), in mid-November. We chose Hotel Canada because of it's location (close to Termini, bus stops and the Metro rail) and based on reviews on the internet. Great room, great bed, nicely furnished, bath tub was unique old style but the shower was great. This was our last stop in Italy after spending several weeks in the Italian countryside. Rome is a good way to get back into the rush of city life before returning to the US and Hotel Canada was perfect. They also provide a very good breakfast buffet. I would like to see the room cost a little lower, but this is Rome.

We stayed in CANADA for 4 nights. Our room was in the corner of the hotel, off the elevator in 5. floor, so it was very quiet. We had a large twinbed-room with nice furniture and decoration. The welcome was friendly and helpful (luggage). We got many tips for visiting Rome at the reception. Breakfast was great - the best we ever had in a city-hotel. Termini is only 600 meters away, also the stop of hop on - hop off bus and local busses. So it was easy to visit all sights. There are little restaurants nearby. We can recommand the hotel warmly

We had an excellent holiday in Hotel Canada. Very well located in Rome with good surroundings. Staff were excellent and very helpful and corteous. Bedroom was superb and well serviced. Breakfast was very good and quite sufficient. Bar was very reasonable. However, noise from an outside adjacent late night bar on our side of the hotel at night went on until the early hours of the morning and was a problem. This noise continued despite closing all shutters. Otherwise, stay was first class and we highly recommend this hotel.

I booked the Hotel Canada for my teenage daughter and my last night in Italy. I chose this hotel because of the good reveiws and it was within reasonable walking distance from the Rome Termini. We were arriving from Venice via train and catching the train to the airport the next day. The room we were given was lovely and had obviously not long ago been refurbished. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom well stocked with toiletries and slippers (only one pair). The staff were very pleasant and helpful and breakfast was good. This Hotel met our needs very well. I would not stay in this part of Rome if I were staying for any longer than 2 nights. Not the choicest part of Rome.

There is no refrigerator in my room. The receptionist told me that they have room service instead of refrigerators free of charge. Their room service was quite fast and drinks were cheap. If you want a refrigerator in your room, I won't recommend this hotel.

Stayed for 5 nights in one room with 2 extra beds to accomodate our 2 adult children. Room and washroom were very adequate for 4 adults! Bar/lounge area in main lobby was awesome with drinks the most reasonable you will find in Rome. The buffet breakfast which is included in the room price, was outstanding...the coffee was the best we had...very satisfying. There was some problem with the room air conditioner...it was a bit noisy when the fan was turned up to work properly. All in all, this hotel was more than adequate for the price...one of the least expensive for its location!

Very spacious rooms with the nice addition of free toilettries and slippers (but only in large size)Drinks reasonable at the bar but downside was they only had a small stock of cold drinks. Buffet breakfast was ok but getting coffee was hit and miss depending on how busy the staff were at the time. Overall however would certainly recommend this to friends and would certainly stay there next time we went to Rome.

We stayed in room 408, a quiet room, the biggest on the floor and it had an extra bed and foyer space. Very spacious and decor in classic and quality style. Complemented by an antique elevator that the kids loved. All men staff at the Front Desk and Bell, very efficient, compact operation. Told them departure time at airport and they reserved a car hire for 50 euro, cheaper than a taxi and train for 3, car and driver arrived 30 minutes prior to schedule. Breakfast was very good and the blonde lady quite energetic and efficient - for the children she provided hot chocolate - and made sure we had proper and good seating. Safe refuge hotel. Bar was very cheap - wine for a small bottle about 3 euro. Could use a reading lamp/work desk in room. Very efficient and well run hotel. This hotel is the best in that area. Great hotel for first stay in Rome with excellent subway access - although the subway station is dark and subways not bright and safe like Tokyo. Paid about 215 euros per night, no complaints - could change the name Hotel Canada - doesn't match and the image of the name is cheap, although the actual hotel and service is 4 star.

This hotel is in a very good location. The reception staff were funny humerous, friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were most enjoyable and the staff pleasant and on the mark for coffee and tea at breakfast. The room was comfortable and the bed fantastic. Wonderful space and lots of pillows. Bathroom great, everything you need provided even toothbrushes, a new one on me. Really enjoyed our stay. Had a drink in bar/cafateria one evening. Guy working there good fun too.

My husband and I stayed in Hotel Canada for five nights in March 09. The Hotel is in an ideal location only five minutes walk from Termini. We cannot praise this hotel high enough. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful and very efficient. We stayed in a superior room, which was beautiful, with large bathroom The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast in the hotel. Beautiful decor throughout the hotel. Very welcoming bar in the hotel, and it always provided small snacks, free of charge, and excellent bar prices. All of the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. We hope to return to Rome, and would certainly stay at the hotel Canada again. We would rate this hotel far higher than the 3 star rating it has. Thank you to all at Hotel Canada for making our stay in Rome wonderful.

Very few things we did not like. Would have prefered being a little closer to Termini, but hotel is close to a Metro station so that sort of makes up for it. Breakfast was excellent and plentyfull. Staff both in restaurant and lobby were very helpful and accomodating. One thing to watch is which side of the hotel your room is on. The north side of hotel faces a major street with lots of traffic which can continue past midnight. After the first night we were given a different room which faced the courtyard. That wasn't totally quiet either but it was a substantial improvement. I should add that the windows are very tight and filter out a lot of the noise, but we like to sleep with the windows open whenever possible. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel.

Welcoming and helpful staff. As good as any we have encountered worldwide, including 5* hotels. We had a superior room which was adequate space wise, well decorated with a settee, chair and desk in a separate area from the bedroom. The room was well appointed, quiet and kept very clean. TV programmes are basic so don't expect Sky Sports or any favourite terrestrial UK channels. Friends had a basic room they said was tight for space. The first floor bedrooms are non-smoking. Breakfast was good with 2 hot dishes, self- service apart from hot coffee or tea served at your table. Eat as much as you want! The immediate area was ok and better than the other side of the station. If you wish to walk to sites it is a long way! Take the red bus for a 2 hour sightseeing tour of the city(from the front of the station-tickets are for 2 days) and then plan your visits accordingly. Immediate area restaurants expensive for basis fare. Avoid Mama Angela's which is always busy but the food is ordinary at best, expensive for what it is, and the house wine is dear and tastes vile. If you want basic, fast Italian food-pizza, pasta, gelati and the like, try Florian which is only 2/3 minutes walk from the hotel. Cheap and cheerful modern Pizzeria. The hotel will gude you to any restaurant in the city-ask for their free map at reception. If you want a more upmarket meal try Target near the Grand Hotel. Great, cheap house wine(9 euros), superb food- and they don't mind if you share a starter, main or sweet. We had 3 courses, bottle of house wine, coffee and Sambuca for 90 Euros including the tip. You might even run into Tom Conti or Sean Connery who eat here when in Rome! Take a taxi but beware, taxi fares are expensive!! Walk to Target in 15/20 minutes. Hotel drinks are very reasonably priced and are served with a good selection of free snacks. We would go to this hotel again if in Rome.

We booked this Hotel because not only was it well rated but it was close to the main train station. This Hotel exceeeded our expectations compared to the 3 other Hotel's that we stayed in throughout Italy. We would definitely book here next time in Rome instead of the first Hotel that we stayed in upon our arrival. The rooms were absolutely gorgeous and grandiose. We felt like kings and greens! Both the bedrooms and bathrooms were very large and well decorated. There were many excellent restaurants right outside the front door. We met in the bar before and after dinner and were met and served by an excellent male waiter from the Philipeans (sorry forgot his name). There were 6 of us travelling together (3 separate rooms) and all of us felt that this room exceeded our expecations. My only complaint was that we like to sleep with the windows open, however, it was very noisy with the street noise coming from the restaurants/bars below our windows. We will definitely be back to Rome and will be booking into this Hotel again.

We loved this hotel! The location was good for us as it was only a 10-15 minute walk to the termini train station where you could pick up buses/subway and even the Hop on hop off buses to tour the city. The breakfast was quite varied in what was offered - scrambled eggs and bacon even were offered - a rarity in Italy. The staff were quite helpful and very friendly. There was a restaurant very close by, where we had dinner twice - food was good and prices reasonable.

We stay in this hotel for one night, before we catch the plane next morning. It is located on a not so nice part of Rome (compare to our previous stay at Sunset Interno 5), and the room is so small that the three of us could not move around. From the experience of this hotel, we book "service apartment" or "self catering apartment" when we travel in Europe. That way, we can be sure that 1. it is not as expensive as hotel room 2. we would be able to prepare some of the meals (eating out for every meal could be a fortuen in Europe) and 3, there is room to move around during the stay!

I chose this hotel as it was in easy walking distance of Termini train station. I only spent one night there but for my purposes it was excellent. There are a number of restaurants nearby and my room was quiet even though the hotel borders onto a busy road. The area is not very interesting in terms of shopping or sightseeing but it is very conveniently placed for transport.

Dining room a little small for size of hotel so get down early but the breakfasts were good. Nice friendly, clean hotel with very nice staff. Not the best location for sight seeing in Rome but very close to Termini train/metro station (10 mins walk) but closer to next stop up(Pretoria??) 2 mins walk on Metro. Very clean efficient and safe underground system. Some nice restaurants close by and tiny bar next to hotel a nice little find. Bar prices in hotel a lot cheaper than I had expected. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Canada. Good size room with large bathroom and great shower. Very nice bar area which was a wonderful place to relax after walking the streets of Rome to see the sights. The breakfast was also superb with lots of variety of healthy foods. THe only issue for me is that even with air conditioned rooms, could never get the room as cool as I like. I am from Florida, however, and we tend to keep the indoors quite cool. We had 2 days in Rome and the Hotel Canada was perfect for our stay. Its location near to the termini proved to be very handy as we got a train from the airport. Additionally, we were able to collect our hire car from here when we left for the rest of our holiday in a villa in Umbria. Whilst the area itself was a little bit grubby looking, the location made up for it. We had a standard room at the Hotel Canada but it was plenty big and very nicely decorated. I haven't seen it mentioned in other reviews but this hotel is part of the Best Western chain. Being located only 100 metres from the Metro station, travel around Rome couldn't be easier. In truth, the majority of decent restaurants do require a trip into down-town Rome (5 minutes on the metro or a 25 minute walk)but there are some that are only a very short walk away. Breakfast in Italian hotels is never going to compare to a classic british breakfast, but this hotel does provide a good selection of breakfast items including hot ham and eggs. The staff were always helpful. The room was nicely furnished, the bed was comfortable and the television also had a couple of English language news channels. In terms of value for money (always a challenge in Rome)I think that you can't go far wrong if you elect to stay at the Hotel Canada.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Canada and it surpasssed our expectations. The staff were really helpful-nothing was too much trouble. We arrived late at night (stuck in Terminal 5) and they were really kind and made us really welcome and comfortable. The room was gorgeous,a massive bed)and a lot of space and had everything we could wish for with a little balcony overlooking a courtyard. The breakfast was wonderful with hot and cold buffet, eggs, bacon, cereals, pastries, hams and cheese etc. More than enough to set you up for the day. We were in a quieter street near the station but we managed to find our way from the airport to the Station Termini by train and then about a 7 minute walk to the Hotel. We arrived at 10.30 at night due to late departure from Heathrow but we still felt safe and the directions provided were totally adequate. We walked everywhere as we are a mature couple but children and teenagers would not have appreciated the walking!! We did get a bus to the Vatican but walked everywhere else. Overall a fantastic holiday and Hotel and I would definitely recommend the Hotel Canada.

We spent 1 night at the Hotel Canada and were very pleased. Our room was very clean and so spacious for european hotel rooms! The decor was beautiful and historic. I wouldn't call the staff "friendly" but they were informative and helpful.

We were a family of 2 adults and 2 children. The hotel was not as close to Termini as expected - it was a good 7-10 mins walk - too far for the kids to lug suitacases. However, the room itself was fairly spacious. We had a family room which had a large double bed and two single beds. There was still enough room for two single couches and a table which was nice. The TV was a flatscreen model and you could ask for a tea and coffee pack for your room which meant you could make yourself a hot drink without having to go out and pay for one - this was very unusual to find in Italy. The bathroom was very clean and spacious with a combined bath and shower. The hotel provided all the usual toiletries including slippers which was a nice touch. There was a large double glaze window in the room however the outside shutter made the room very dark. Breakfast was included and was one of the best we had in Italy. The breakfast room was very nicely decorated and had beautiful china. The breakfast spread included bacon and eggs as well as all the other usual foods (this was unusual to find in Italy). Tea and coffee was served by the "breakfast" ladies. Overall, this was a really nice hotel - with an interesting old fashioned lift which only fitted 4 persons - nicely decorated with helpful staff - but not in a great part of town. There was not much near by. The taxi to the airport cost us 48 Euros.

Reception staff could have been more welcoming on arrival. Hotel located near to bus route into city centre. Room spacious but at end of corridor - rather isolated as beyond fire door. Small antiquated lift - easier to walk down stairs.

Surprisingly good hotel for the price (126 euro /night, dbl occupancy). Conveniently located a block away from Castro Pretorio metro station. Our room was larger than expected, with an anteroom and large bathroom, lots of closet and dresser space. Everything was very clean. Good, full breakfast included. The only complaint was that the large bed (king size, if I recall correctly), was rather hard for our North American tastes, but this is common in Europe.

The Hotel was great for people like us who were mature adults on a short visit to the city (although we would stay for a longer visit)We were comfortable and we did all that we wanted to.We did not expect Rome to be so big and full of so many fantastic sites so our plan is to pay a longer visit next year and we will be more prepared for what we see and do.

Superb hotel. Great location, just around the corner from the Castro Pretorio Metro stop. Gorgeous, comfortable room. Friendly, helpful staff who speak excellent English. The only drawbacks were that the hallway outside the room can be noisy in the mornings (in particular) - the room door isn't all that sound-proof - and the neighborhood is fairly touristy, so the dining choices are fairly mediocre. All in all, a wonderful experience and I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Very comfortable room in a very convenient location near Termine. We had a quiet room in the back for one night and needed to be near the station. Excellent value for Rome at 160E for two.

Hotel Canada was a fantastic hotel, the staff are very friendly and the location is excellent. The main train station is only a 5 min walk away and all the sights are within walking distance. The hotel is very clean and has a lovely atmosphere. There are also many very reasonable restaurants 2 minutes from the hotel. The breakfast buffet provided by the hotel is great with lots of options. Both myself and my mum had a wonderful time in Rome and we will definitely be back to stay in Hotel Canada. 10 out of 10.

The location of the hotel is very convenient to Termini located within a seven minute walk from the hotel. The superior room we were assigned was comfortable and a reasonable size with attractive vintage furnishings. The bed was firm as were all beds we experienced in Italy during our stay. The breakfast was wonderful and abundant with a wide selection of food and baked goods. The staff was very helpful and professional. The location of the hotel made touring very easy as access to the "green touring bus" etc. was close and train to the airport is convenient. There is a wide selection of restraunts to choose from in the area.

The Canada is a great place to stay. the ambience of the hotel is superb, the facility of a bar and nibbles with courteous and accomodating staff is excellent and we felt very comfortable in the hotel environment. Breakfast is excellent preparing travellers for the day ahead. It is conveniently positioned for travel, eating and for accessing facilities.

I loved nice and abundant breakfast. A triple room we stayed was a little bit dimly, but decorated harmoniously with antique atmosphere. The hotel is located within esay of Subway station and found a couple of homely feel italian restaurants around there.

Hotel Canada did not disappoint. The hotel's location was excellent and we could walk to Termini in 5 minutes. We would also walk to the nearby Metro in about 3 minutes and we used this excellent mode of transport frequently. When we arrived at the hotel, we were upgraded to a large room which was very clean and well air conditioned. The bed, while firm, was comfortable. The buffet breakfast was the best we had in Italy in terms of quality and selection. The range of nibblies provided with drinks in the bar were extraordinary. There was a very good restaurant just down the road from the hotel, with excellent food. We could sometimes hear Italian love songs being sung from the restaurant. The staff were always courteous and helpful, and provided us with advice and maps. We would definitely choose this hotel again, in terms of location, service, quality of accommodation and value for money.

Very good hotel, not far from the main railways station 'Termini', with very competent staff. The rooms are clean and spacious. The price is very reasonable and they offer one of the best breakfast(included in the price of the room!)my wife and I ever had in a 3 star hotel in Europe. Very, very good value for money. When in Rome we will stay there again.

I booked this hotel on the information found on this web-site and I was not disappointed. This was my first trip to Rome and the location of the hotel was excellent and the staff very helpful. The restaurants around the location of the hotel were very good and not expensive and also cater for veggies. Our hotel room was a twin room and both the room and bathroom were very clean and the maid came in every day to clean and replace the bed linen and leave fresh towels. A great stay and would have no reservations on recommending this hotel to anyone.

We arrived at this hotel after 11 pm at night and the staff were helpful in unloading our car and then telling us where we could park. The hotelhad an arrangement with an underground car park which we thought was rather expensive, about 80 euros, from mon night until thurs morn. But not really knowing how expensive Rome is or isnt we just accepted this as part of our stay.Breakfast was very good and the staff cheerful and helpful

We were thrilled to find a large room with beds to accommodate myself, my daughter and her two boys. The room was spacious and the bathroom was fully equipped with toiletries. The location was great and provided us with a good night's rest before heading off the Venice.

Hotel Canada was as I expected as I had read reviews on other sites. The Hotel was really good. The room comfortable, clean with a lovely bathroom. The quiet bar area was lovely after a day walking - the bar prices very cheap and excellent service - even to the point of serving little snacks with drinks. Our first night we arrived quite late and tired so we just had a drink and toasted sandwich - we were amazed at how cheap it was. The hotel was within easy access of the Termini - the hub of transport to all the main attractions via the easy to navigate metro. We bought a three day pass with unlimited travel for something like £7 each. Back to the hotel - we would definitely stay again - oh and the breakfasts - well if you want to eat loads in the morning the choice was really great - fruit, cereals, meats cheeses, bacon, eggs cakes - too too much!!The rooms were quiet with good air conditioning.
