I have stayed at this property several times, always enjoying my stay. This time there were problems with the air conditioning which the staff refused to resolve. Fortunately I had a friend who was willing to change rooms with me since he preferred no air conditioning.

The hotel is located a short walk straight from the Termini station in an ok surrounding area. We never felt uneasy about the location but also was never out later than 22.00 when there was still a lot of cafés and people around. The hotel is adequate albeit a little expensive and definetely not 3-star but totally ok. More often than not there are hot water and cleaning was good. The room also holds a safebox free of use which is good. The only negative thing was the service/attitude of an young blond woman at the desk which was quite sour and never smiled. That was always the case for the four days we stayed there. You did not feel like a guest. The other staff was friendly though. Also lack of information about services provided by the hotel or any info at all as a newly arrived guest. It would be nice to be given information about breakfast etc when checking-in instead of having to ask for all details. The Air-Condition in the room was a little strange and I still don´t know if it worked or not. I can recommend it if you need something safe and trustworthy but only if you don´t find time to look around for other alternatives. We felt safe and the area was ok no matter the distance from Termini.

I had doubts about staying at this hotel after reading some reviews, however, the girls at the hotel were friendly and very, very helpful. Daniela recommended a great restaurant nearby, and she even downloaded the necessary software to print my boarding passes. I walked from Termini. The hotel was easy to find and the area was fine also. It is in a very convenient location, near all kind of transportation. Breakfast was what I expected nothing special but sufficient. For me the girls at the desk made the difference. I recommend this hotel.

The hotel is in a multi-hotel building (several hotels in the same building). The room was small but comfortable and clean; a couple of facilites (phon and bathhub's facet) had some minor problems. The breakfast was good even if basic. The only disappointing thing: our room was at the first floor and at night rumors of loud voices and laughs and fornitures' dragging came from other parts of the building. Maybe you can find something better in Rome...

My wife is in the Hospital due to the Bed Bug bites all over her Face and Body. She is still suffering from severe allergy due to Bed Bugs in the Hotel room, My experience with Rome has been very bitter. I am going to file a Legal action on this hotel in this week in an Italian Court of Consumers.I have spent 200 euros till now on the medical treatment. Adding to this there were mis-behaving Americans in our hotel who were abusing my wife for just telling them that they were over using the Elevator as per the capacity. Very Very dirty hotel, combination of 3 hotels with Dark corridors - no illumination around, with common elevator.

Small but just what we wanted for a busy visit to Rome. Lovely restaurants close by and very quiet area considering it was very close to the main station. Would stay there again and recommend to others.

Hotel Cambridge occupies one floor of a large old building in the Termini district, a maximum of 10 minutes walk from the station. It is at the quieter end of this busy area. We stayed 7 nights in a double room which was a little dark and not very large but was clean, fresh and adequately equipped; the air conditioning kept the room cool at night. There appeared to be some larger, lighter rooms on the other side of the hotel and some had a balcony. The bathroom was decorated to a good standard although leakage from the shower had caused water damage on the plaster on the bedroom wall. An iron and ironing board was delivered promptly on request. A market was held every weekday in the street below our window but whilst the stalls were being set up from 6am, the double-glazed windows meant that we were undisturbed by this. Breakfast was included in the price and served in a small room decorated with frescos. There was a reasonable selection of rolls, pastries, juice, coffee, fresh fruit and yoghurt, however if you like proper Italian coffee in the morning, you would do better to wander out to a nearby bar. There are a number of restaurants within 5 minutes walk in any direction from the hotel, all of those sampled served good food at reasonable prices. Hotel staff were polite and efficient and spoke good English. Checkout is at a civilised 11am and if you are not travelling until later, they will take care of your luggage for you. I'd rate Hotel Cambridge as good value for money and would stay again.

This hotel was easy to find, but unfriendly staff member at front desk when we checked in...shocked when we got to room it was so small...the washroom so small i hit my leg about five times ...then I dropped something on floor near bed...oh my gosh floor was filthy...pictures they have put up total deception...however breakfast staff nice and food coffee great..We had to stay there due to location ..thank goodness we spent nil time in room!

Free wireless internet is certainly helpful. However you have to be near the reception area to use it as the signal is weak. I had a room next to the reception area and I manage to get internet access at certain areas of the room. Airconditioning on the ground floor rooms are split unit types therefore excellent as far as I am concerned. I wouldn't recommend staying on 1st floor in the summer time. The airconditioning there is central and it isn't cold enough. Also it gets turned off during the day. Bathroom is a bit small for a 2 person's room. However a 3 person's room has a larger bathroom. Breakfast was excellent. They serve you the usual choices of bread and jam and drinks. However, do help yourself to the fruit and the cereal and the yoghurt they put out on a seperate table. There is only 1 english tv channel though - CNN. The hotel plugs will take two pin plugs but of the smaller size. I had an adaptor but the pins were slightly too big and I'd forgotten to bring an adaptor for a smaller pin hole. Luckily the staff was very helpful and manage to provide me with a smaller pin adaptor to fit over my existing one so that I could charge my phones. On a little note, I saw that they had a weighing scale availalbe which was unexcpected but will certainly be useful. Hotel is only around 5 minutes walk to termini station. This is most convenient for getting around the city and to the airport. The bus - terravision stops/pickups at termini. There is a supermarket at termini station which is highly convenient. I can't say I've tried any of the local restaurant as we were only in rome for 3 days of hectic sightseeing. Ice cream is excellent ofcourse but I feel it melts too quickly in the June heat to enjoy it properly. I would love to stay here again when I return for another visit. Hopefully during a cooler weather which will allow me to explore the city by foot more.

These guys double billed me for my room. They advertise individually controlled air-conditioning. The only problem is that no cold air comes out of the the air-conditioner. Shower is the Italian shower that get water all over the bathroom floor. The place is clean and near Termini. There are plenty of other places you could stay maybe with real air-conditoning who will only bill you for the correct number of nights without reporting them to your credit card issuer.

I like the hotel. it's really near to the main transportation, and not so difficult to find. i almost visited the whole Rome by walking, 'cause it's not that big. the service is helpful but not enough hospitable, lack of smile, but price is good, and it's tidy and quiet, plus breakfast is quite enough. only one thing is that it deducted one night fee beforehand as a block without telling me, which really makes me uncomfortable, but the after-service is good, so there's no problem now.

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was easy to find coming off the train from Termini, the staff were excellent (fluent English), quick to help, the room was super clean, central location to everything in Rome (via Metro), the bathroom was awesome and though they didn't have a crib for our son to sleep in they gave us plenty of extra blankets and pillows to make a make-shift bed. Our only complaint would be that our room was next to the staircase and we could clearly hear people coming up and down the stairs at night and in the morning. The breakfast was great too. The value for your money is fabulous. We would deffinately stay here again when in Rome!!

The hotel location was convenient for access to the Termini, there were many restaurants in the area. The staff were helpful in some areas, but not competant in other areas (internet connections, billed us twice for our room)and were not always pleasant. Our room was quite small while the couple we were traveling with had a large room. Breakfast included was good and staff in breakfast room were great.

The Hotel Cambridge is well situated for sightseeing around Roma and very convenient to termini and airport coach station. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, other staff were friendly too. Only critisism of our room is the bathroom needs modernising as there was a musty smell. It was however well cleaned and clean towels were supplied. Other guests we met at Cambridge were various nationalities probably sightseers too.

we stayed 3 nights in Combridge hotel. that was disgusting for us in a word. the room was narrow, unpretty and dark. bath room was also narrow, and the shower head was fixed on the ceiling. the location wasn't good, we felt little far from the Terumini station. because there are a lot of good and cheep hotels near the station. breakfast was also coarse, a white "cold" bread,so sweet croissant, orange juice, coffe and so on. I can't believe it's a 3stars hotel. we moved to an another hotel. the hotel was 2star. but there were the large room, quiet srround, breakfast buffet, clean bathroom and welcoming staffs. the hotel's location was just next to the Termini station. in conclusion, I cannot recomnend this hotel "Cambridge". and I don't want to stay there.

We stayed here for six nights, we payed 70euros/night for a Doubleroom. The room was big an beautiful, the airconditioning works great, it was very clean and got cleaned every day. The television is pretty small and had only the german programm Ard. But this was no problem for us because we didnt use it often. The hotel is only a few hundred meters away from the Rome´s main station Termini. So its pretty easy to get to the hotel when you arrive from the airport and the inner city can be reached very easily by walk, metro or bus. In the area around the hotel, there are many other hotels an restaurants. There is not much traffic, so its very quiet in the night. I would recommend the hotel, because its clean, quiet and near to the station Termini. Maybe I will return here when I go to Rome the next time.

Hotel Cambridge is shabbier than the photos indicate. The curtains are dirty. The rooms smell musty. The triple rooms are a double with a little fold-down mattress. Only a child could sleep on it. Don't expect to be able to use a triple for an adult. The desk managers had the reservation wrong. Be sure to take your documentation on the reservation with you. The room and public area quality are really 2-star. I think it only receives a 3-star rating because it has a lift and they can book tours for you. I won't stay in this hotel again.

My partner and I stayed for three nights in a double on-suite room. The room was clean enough, and the location was convenient for the train station. However,I must make the following negative points: 1) Building works were being carried out in the rooms above and started at 8am prompt every morning - when very loud drilling and hammering started! 2)The breakfast was not worth having - minimal and of low quality, e.g. orange juice was orange squash etc ... 3)The shower leaked badly and flooded the bathroom when used. The bathroom had no shelf space to put things. 4) There was a wardrobe but no drawer or shelf space. 5) The view from the window was of a filthy yard strewn with rubbish and building debry. 6) on the whole we did not feel that this hotel gave us value for money, and we will not be recommending it.

Welcoming staff .. everybody was smiling except one young lady who probably has just broken off with her bf :-) .. especially the night guy is an old smiling man who always welcomed us warmly when me and my girl returned late each night. He's really cute .. we really wanted to take a photo with him! The rooms are clean and nice, as advertised. We went late Feb and paid 60Eur/night for a double which was really nice considering the service we received. The location is perfect, near Termini station which ensures easy public access to everywhere. Highly recommended .. we will definitely stay there again if/when we get back to Rome..

We stayed in Room 105. The walk to Termini is a 10 minute hike but not terrible. The bathroom was a one person closet. do not book this hotel if you have problems with slips and falls, or are elderly. The bathroom tub wall is very high and very hard to safely get in and out. The floors are tavertine tiles w/o grout, and get very slippery and dirty. The double bed was not comfortable like other customers raved, and we fell toward each other in the middle. Great breakfast. Nice staff.

This hotel is perfect for a short stay in Rome, about three blocks away from the Termini Rail Station - - close enough for convenience, but far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle of the rail station. The hotel seems to be run by a family; they were very attentive to any needs we had, and they answered any questions we had on how to get to certain landmarks around town. They always spoke in English to us, and we appreciated that as we did not speak Italian. They provided us with a cot for our 16 month old at no charge, too. The room had high ceilings, which made the room feel bigger than it actually was. Breakfast was pretty good for a hotel breakfast. They served coffee to your liking (cappuccino, latte, etc) and provided an assortment of pastries, fruit and yogurt. The room also had a small refridgerator in which we stored our son's medicine (as it had to be refridgerated) and that was also nice. We would like to note the hotel has a tiny elevator (lift), and although we did not need it because we were on the first floor, it was nice to see because other hotels we stayed in during our two week trek through Italy, did not have one.

We had stayed previously at the Cambridge on her first trip to Italy in 1999. We knew the location was excellent, insofar as being near the Termini train station. The neighborhood has lots of restaurants. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and spacious enough. The help was courteous and friendly. We had the same good experience this time... and the rooms had been painted and tiled and they added bidets and tubs -- which I've never needed anyway -- but some people use them, I guess.

We were 4 couples who travelled together and arrived at the same time at Cambridge Hotel. The rooms varied very much. One room was very small and hardly habitable, when the bed turned out to be too hard as well, the couple in the room requested a change. That was not taken for granted, but the change was made. The last night we asked if we could have breakfast 15 min early next morning, so we would be able to get to the airport well before the airplanes departure. The night porter said of course, but the next morning noone was there to prepare breakfast for us. They actually turned up 5 minutes late, just as our taxi came up in front of the hotel. I'd like to add that some of us speak Italian, so there couldn't have been any trouble with the language.

Very nice stay, a perfectly clean place at a 5-minute walk from the train station (in the direction opposite to the historic center, but if you're going to walk through Rome it doesn't make a big difference). I give a middle-range score to the "quality vs. price" question mainly because I keep on thinking that 100 EUR for a night's sleep is awesome... however I do not have a vast knowledge of Italy's hotels, so maybe it's a fair market price. I won't call this place a real 3-star, however: it's a bunch of rooms in a palace with no real common spaces... said this, the staff was helpful (maybe a bit cold), we arrived quite early in the morning and they immediately gave us our room then kept our luggage on the day of departure, and the room was perfect.

It should have been noted that the building in which the hotel is located contained other hotels/bed & breakfasts, plus other commercial tennants. There was no proper lobby and the reception desk was small, croweded, untidy and uninviting. Upon check in there was no one to help take our luggage to the room. The halls were shabby and not well maintained. The room, while very clean with a comfortable bed, lacked the most basic of amenities. The towels, which were replaced daily were very clean but were threadbare and torn. There was no bath mat in the bathroom. There was only one wastebasket in the bath and not one in the bedroom. There were not glasses in the room and when they were requested, were never provided. The bar of soap left everyday did not even last through a shower. The shampoo was useless. There was no clock or radio and the T.V. was placed so high on the wall as not to be viewable. The closet, which was barely adequate, had only 4 or 5 mismatched and bent or broken hangers. There were no drawers at all in which to put away clothes or other articles. When we requested that the air conditioning be turned on or at least have the fan blowing we were told it was on as high as it could go. This turned out to be nonesense as there was air whatsoever coming out of it. While there were working shutters on the outsides of the window, which was quite big, in order to close them one had to lean so far out that I was afraid of tumbling out onto the street belwo. There was an elaborate fabric window treatment, but not blinds or shades to help keep out light. The breakfast that was provided was more appropriate in quality to a youth hostel that a supposed 3 star hotel. The only thing to reccomend the Cambridge is the good location, the clean room and comfortable bed. A three star property should have a proper lobby and reception area and amenities in the room that make it stand out from a no star or one or two star property.

The bathroom was extremelly small to the extent that in order to seat in the toilette we needed to squeeze ourselves under the sink. The water flow was so poor that it was needed to hold the lever with one hand all the time while trying to take a shower. While the staff at the Cambridge was friendly and helpful, we found the hotel itself to be dirty and the surrounding area seedy, especially at night. The hotel is at the end of a dark street and the darkness seems to spill over into the atmosphere of the hotel itself. The experience was more like staying in a hostel rather than a hotel. The rooms were small, but overall we felt this hotel was a very good value. It was within walking distance of Termini Station and the neighborhood was okay. The staff was also very helpful with any questions we had.

We arrived at 10:30am at the hotel and the room was ready for us to check in. Very positive! The recepcionist was friendly and we could leave our bags until late afternoon the day we did leave without charge. We can really recommend this hotel, it was a pleasent stay. The only negative comment: the breakfast room is much too small when the hotel is full so we had to wait about 15 minutes until having breakfast.

This is a really lovely hotel well worth the price.

Good position, room quite confortable. My only remarks are a sharp price rise in less than 9 month (from 105 to 145 euro per night -double room-)and the scarse number of blankets available in the cupboard (only 2 and small in size compared to the bed). In the same area you can find accommodation with roughly the same quality of service at a lesser price.

Everything was near exellent, except the servive during breakfast: the two young girls who served the tables were not realy polite and friendly.

I have booked two rooms and one room were charge for one extra person and couldn't get the refund back. As for the service, the gentlemen at the front desk were friendly but not the ladies. The ladies serving breakfast need to be nicer will help also. We are foreign guest and a friendly face help a lot! especially if you want more business.

Although they were doing their job more or less OK, the breakfast staff (who were not Italian) were not of the friendly kind...
