This hotel could be so much better with some care and attention. The bathroom was terrible with mildew in the shower cubicle, a tray that didn't drain & a door that didn't close properly. The room had a balcony, which was a pleasant surprise, but had not been brushed for some time. The staff, whilst not unfriendly were not very forthcoming. The location was great but when you compare this hotel to its neighbours it falls way short.

This stay was the worst i have to date. the hotel itself is in a great location and is a big, beautiful hotel with great rooms. however the service and comptencne level of the staff is the worst i have seen or experienced. We arrived early and were made to wait in reception for 2 hours beofre we forced the receptionist to help us. he relectantly gave us a resting room which he said would just be for 30mins after which he would give us our proper room. they didnt contact us for another 2 hours, by which time it was 3 pm. 1 hour after official check in time. This was then followed by a catalogue of errors. we asked to have a restaurant booked, which they did and it was lovely. however it was on the other side of town. what they didnt tell us was we wouldnt be able to get a cab back. we asked them train times for a particular location, they were wrong and also the train they told us to take was also going the wrong way. I loved boscolo hotels beofre this, having stayed in quite a few, but this has completely put me off.

The air conditioning system was very bad. I had three rooms and only one worked. I had the staff change me to two new rooms and the new ones were exactly as hot and when it is 40° outside you really need a cool room. The hotel is old and badly taken care of. The elevators seem to be from the 1920´s. I literally had to wait for close to ten minutes, and the hotel has only seven floors!! I was in the 7th floor and sometimes I´d rather take the stairs than wait for an eternity. They say it is a four star hotel and believe me it is not even close. It is not worth your money. It seems that they are only charging the location which is in fact great, but they are taking for granted everything else. I didn´t pay much attention to other reviews in this page when chosing this hotel, but for future choices I absolutely will. This hotel didn´t have the best rating by users and now I know why!! Rome is an amazing city, and if you are looking for the perfect vacation, honestly, don´t stay here.

I arranged to stay at this hotel as a surprise for my new wife. From the moment the hotel arranged for our collection to the moment we departed the hotel we were made feel very special. The accommodation and staff were first class. Thank you Rome for the memories, we will cherish them forever.

The physical aspects of the hotel were wonderful. However, the rudeness and conniving of the staff made the stay lesss than enjoyable. No service was ever provided without an inflated cost. For example, we tried to buy a stamp at the front desk. A stamp costs .65 Euro but they wanted to charge 1 Euro to cover the "cost of their staff purchasing it". There was no conceierge as was in their information. Also, as we checked out, our room price had mysteriously increased by 50 Euro. If you stay here, be sure to check EVERY price quoted and charged. They continually looked for ways to overcharge, usually requesting the fee in cash. BUYER BEWARE at this hotel.

A beautiful Art Deco period hotel, well-furnished and decorated but showing some signs of tiredness and neglect. There was actually black mould growing in the shower and the wall-covering around the ground-floor lift button was decidedly grubby. The staff were charming and helpful but not always entirely professional and there was a feeling of lack of supervision. The breakfast coffee was quite the worst we have ever drunk - we had the impression it was the dregs from the day before, reused. The breakfast buffet was of the lowest possible standard for this class of hotel; the ham on offer smelled and tasted rancid.

We arrived at Boscolo very early in the morning, before check in time of noon and although the staff quickly took our bags (the porters were uniformly excellent and very nice), the main person at the desk could not tell us when we would be able to get into our room. We then left and went sight seeing and on our return after noon (noon is the check out time), we were again told that the rooms were not ready. We waited in the bar area, which was not very comfortable. No one came to inquire until the barman called for us (he was also very nice). About 1:30 we were told that one room was ready. Perhaps this had something to do with New Year's Eve the night before. But, we kept on having to call down about the other room. The rooms vary somewhat in size, it seems that the rooms on the Via Veneto on the 3rd floor are larger than the rooms on the side street, but there was no street noise and the rooms were very elegant, spacious and the bed very large for a European hotel. The closet was huge. The bathrooms were well fitted out but each had some wear problems (loose toilet and seats). The breakfast is certainly not worth 15 euro if it is not included in the room price (I called ahead and confirmed that the breakfast was included). There is only cereal, yogurt, bread stuffs, meats and cheese, no eggs or hot foods. The night staff, especially Stephanie is very good and she booked some restaurants for us and was very pleasant and helpful, as was the manager, Giuseppe. The location is great. This is my second time to Rome and I would consider returning to the Boscolo if the price is right. We also stayed the last night at the Boscolo and they booked our car and were very helpful and stored our extra bags at no charge. We stayed on the fifth floor that night. The rooms faced the front and had lovely french doors with terraces with views of the city, but the rooms were a bit dirty (around the doors) and slightly smaller (because of the terraces, but still large for

For the money you would expect to be treated better. The employees were rude and often acted as if we were bothering them. The location was perfect but there are many other hotels in the area that would be much better than this one. If you are looking for service with a smile, try someplace else.

Due to plumbing problems, we were not given a room at this hotel, but were sent to their sister hotel, Aleph, nearby. However, it is not what we expected: Palace is traditional, Aleph is very modern/trendy.

The Boscolo Grand Hotel Palace offers up to guests -superior accomodations at superior price levels. From the beginning to end, you will not find a better place to stay at this level. It is easily located on via venito, offering access to all that Rome has to offer, either by walking or by underground. Last year I stayed at the Ambasciatori (which is just around the corner), and payed at least three times, what I payed here. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone.
