Hotel Boccaccio is a lovely, clean, affordable place to stay in the heart of Rome. The location is the best part!! It's near the trevy fountain, spanish steps, Termini, and the subway line that took me to the Vatican in 10 min. I was able to walk to the colosseum and Roman Forum in 15-20 min, and to Centro Storico and the pantheon in 10. I also easily found my way to the villa borghese in a beautiful park north of the hotel, and even made it out to the roman catacombs via the subway station and bus 218! The hotel was on a quiet street, so street noise was nill, yet the building itself is old, so the walls were thin and you could hear other folks on the floor easily. But, it's not a busy place, so it was pretty quiet for the most part. The key situation was one I'm not accustomed to. Patritzia gives you a key to the front doors to enter the building, yet you leave your room key in a drawer in the entryway. It's as if you're staying in a room in her flat. Sharing the bathroom was just fine, didn't conflict with other guests during my 4 days there. Plus, I had a sink/mirror in my room, so that cut out a lot of bathroom time. There's no concierge to help with the bags or navigate you into the city. There is an old fashioned elevator, and maps in the entryway, so I was fine managing these things myself on my first trip to Rome. The antique and artistic decoration of the hotel Boccaccio was wonderful and made the place feel special. It was clean, the hostess was kind, and the location was perfect. A jem!!

This place is just wonderful! It made me feel as if I was an actual citizen of Rome... The room and facilities were clean and tastefully decorated. Patrizia, the owner, is such a charming woman, she just added that human touch that large hotels lack. The location could not be better, with the Trevi fountain and the Spanish steps just a short walk away. Right by the Barberini metro station - although Rome is very walkable, it was a great advantage to reach farther places. Overall, I give it a 10++!

Room was clean, spacious & comfortable with a sink.Towels not changed daily as this is eco-friendly and they appeared to have had much use. Very small shared bathrooms,a short walk down hall. One has shower, toilet & sink, the other only toilet & sink. No difficulty finding it available when needed. Patricia was friendly, but did not see much of her and therefore she wasn't available to answer our questions in the morning. Street noise was quite loud late into evening & early morning even though we were several flights up.(address says 1st floor) Very good location to everything, and good price for what you get.

Great location but could be noisy at night. No air conditioning or at least it was not on and could not leave the window in the room open as the noise was too loud outside so it was hot at night. Big room and decent sized bed. Shared bathrooms clean, shower good size. Never ran into problems with competition for the bathroom. No breakfast included and only a couple options available in the immediate area which were fairly expensive. Worth it for the location and proximity to everything. Less than 5 minutes walk to the Trevi Fountain and a minute or two to the nearest Metro station, but was able to walk to the Colloseum in about 20 minutes so did not really use the Metro.

Very quaint and welcoming guest house. Was a little nervous about staying here vs. a larger hotel but worked out great. Stayed in room #1 with the ensuite, which is nicely decorated and quite spacious for Rome. A fair bit of noise on the street forced us to sleep with the window closed which made things hotter, but with the fan and the bathroom window open we slept very well, even in the heat of July. Very great value for money. Can't beat the location! Only complaint was that they turn the wifi off rom 11pm til 8:30 or 9:30am. Other than that, no complaints. I would stay there again.

A bit difficult to find the hotel (homestay) after darkness. Building is shared with other homestays and hotel Petros (look for Petros, door bell on the left side for Boccaccio) Otherwise very good location, 10 min to Trevi, 15 min to Spagna. Owner is very nice and friendly. Asked for silent room and my room was perfectly silent and clean. Had even own bathroom. Huge room, nice decor, comfortable bed. The best hotel room I have ever stayed! I recommend it even for families! It is a gem in the heart of Rome old town for resonable price. I wish all hotels would be like this. I travel a lot, but never had such good experience, I wish my best for the owner (Patty) to continue this way!

Great, ideal location and very friendly. Close to everything, mintues away from the Trevi Fountain and the high-end shopping district. This is a great little eco-friendly hotel. It’s centrally located & only a 5 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain. The Spanish Steps, Pantheon & Piazza Navona are all within walking distance. I arrived around 11pm & Patrizia was graciously waiting for me. Patrizia is the owner & this hotel is also her home. Once inside Boccaccio, the guest rooms are in front & slightly to the left. I had emailed the day before advising that my plane would be in late & Patrizia promptly replied that she would be waiting for me. Upon arrival I was given the keys. A key is given for the hotel room, the hotel entrance on the 1st floor & the outside entrance to the building. So basically you have 24 hour access. I booked a single room with shared bathroom & shared shower. There was never a wait to use these facilities which was great. There are 2 bathrooms one with a shower & one without & they are side by side in the hallway. The room I had faces Boccaccio Street & has a great ambiance of Italian restaurants at night so shut your window if you don’t like the sound. My room included: Sink with mirror & towels; Eco friendly soaps & shower foam; Bed lamp; large closet; desk with lamp; fan; lovely large window & double bed. Energy conserving light bulbs are used throughout the property. Also, because this is an eco-hotel, the towels are not changed everyday. I have taken a photo of their eco policy for further reading. There is free wifi avavailable from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 pm in the lobby. In the main lobby there are lots of brochures for Rome sight seeing as well as a complimentary maps of Rome. There is no breakfast served at this hotel but there are lots of places to grab a cappuccino and breakfast. I had complete privacy during my 3 night stay & if I had any questions Patrizia was available to answer them. I enjoyed my stay in this hotel and would definitely stay here again. My room cost was $45.00 Euro per night & I stayed in this hotel September 4-6.

It is the genuine article. Delightful and authentically Italian. Patty is helpful and kind. You need to get a good map to find the place... it is in the same building as DePetris. Not even the police were helpful finding the hotel. It is perfectly located near all attractions..between Trevi and Spanish Steps. Be prepared to walk. Get the slightly larger room for 10 Euro more... much quieter. Street celebrating can be excessive on weekends even though you are several stories up. Yes, I know it is called the first floor. You get used to it. All in all, this is it at this price and location. I am here now and will return. Don't look for breakfast or meeting others over the breakfast table. It's not a B and B. From the airport, take the express train to orange line and get off at Barbarini, then walk down the hill toward Trevi, look for DePetris before the bottom of hill. Get a good map.

GREAT LOCATION FOR TREVI FOUNTAIN AND PANTHEON. FEW STOPS ON METRO TO VATICAN AND COLESEIUM. GREAT LITTLE RESTAURANTS AND CAFE JUST BELOW HOTEL. NICE DISTRICT. NOT FAR TO METRO AND BACK TO TERMINI ST AND BUS STATION. GOOD PRICE. A VERY SMALL THING, NO HAIR DRYER BUT CAN LIVE WITH THAT... WORTH TAKING A SMALL TRAVEL ONE. I stayed at the Boccaccio for a night only as a stopover on my way back as I did not want to be late at the airport the next day. The best thing about the hotel is its location - virtually in the very heart of Rome so you need no public transport at all to reach anywhere. For instance, Fontana di Trevi is a three minutes' walk from where the Boccaccio is. If one wants to experience real typical Rome, the surroundings and the neighborhood are perfect for this. The property is a classical Roman apartment on the first floor of a typical Italian “palazzo” with an elevator taking you there. One is given their own keys to all the doors which provides certain independence. No breakfast and the toilet and bathroom facilities are shared but then there is a washbasin with a mirror in the room. The Boccaccio advertises as an “eco”-hotel, which means fair prices, no smoking and many other amenities. However, it would be suitable for young or budget travelers, or for a relatively short stay only. In general, for the room price it is ideal considering its, I repeat again, central location and very typical Rome-ness.

Gracias, Borja Albaladejo

The Hotel is in agrat location, very clean and tidy; the single room has a high ceiling and window shutters which enabled the room to be cool and shaded even in the heat of summer. Patricia is an absolutely lovely Lady, who was always welcoming and ready with a smile, a real Gem. As this is a room only basis, it enabled you to grab a quick bite either in your room or on the move as there was a food shop just 5 metres away. I do not hesitate in recommending this place to all travellers wanting a very reasonable priced room (by central Rome standards).

I stayed at Boccacio for one weekend and feet like avoiding the hotel for the entire time. The room was sad, looked like someones abandoned summerhouse, full of things that didnt fit together. Stange and sad room. The shared bathroom was Dirty and run down.
