exterior
On the majestic Piazza Barberini, with Bernini's magnificent baroque fountain of the Triton, stands a charming little hotel whose name is an homage to the style that inspired the most scenographic squares and monuments of Rome; the hotel Barocco.
The entrance on the quiet Via della Purificazione leads into the cosy, refined hall with its sofas covered in beige and orange-striped damask, oriental carpets and trompe l'oeil walls with scenes of classical Rome.
Due to its elegance and central location, the hotel Barocco is the ideal place for comfortable holidays or business stay.

we stayed in rome for four days and then went to venice and florence..I must say that the hotel barocco exceeded my expectations and was overall the best hotel we stayed in...for service, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff !! I would highly recommend the hotel

We were a little concerned when we read a negative review a few days before we were to arrive but found nothing that we did not like about this hotel. The staff was far above average and the rooms were clean and kept clean by ever visiting housekeepers and the breakfasts were among the best we've ever had. We have spent a great deal of time traveling through Italy over the years and this hotel is definitely a "do again."

We chose this hotel based on guest ratings, and they were correct. The staff was quite helpful and the bar and breakfast were perfect for our group of 6 adults. It's location is right at Piazza Barberini, and within walking distance of the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. There are several restaurants of varying prices all around the piazza area. I would highly recommend it, and would stay there again.

First trip to Rome. Booked 2 rooms as we were traveling as a family of 4. Hotel was in a great location, very charming and clean. Staff, especially Fabio, were very welcoming and helpful. We do not speak Italian and there were no issues with communication. The size and comfort of the rooms were exceptional, cleaner than any US hotel I've stayed in. Morning breakfast was wonderful with great service. Appreciated the location for ease of getting around. Would definately stay here if ever in Rome again. Only drawbacks were wireless internet didn't work in room so had to go to lobby and shower in one of the rooms was very small but still functional. These are very minor drawbacks and wouldn't let these deter anyone from staying here.

3 nights in Hotel Barocco. Barocco was a decent hotel. It is clean and the staff was helpful and breakfast was on par with everywhere else. We got a great rate on the room and it is in a great location...3-5 minute walk to the Spanish Steps and just a few more to Trevi fountain and the Pantheon. While we liked other hotels in other cities more, you can't really compare and because Rome hotels are typically overpriced compared with other cities and if you want a really nice hotel you need to spend another almost double the rate, which just isn't worth it becayse you spend so little time in your hotel while in Rome. Typically we would leave after breakfast and not return until after dinner. so while i might not stay there again because i'd pick a different area it was easy to get to and a great place to experience Rome for the first time. Thank you.

the entrance is of a three-star hotel, the junior suite is all right after a small extra fee but noisy on the Piazza side. The location is all right.

The only bad thing i can say about this hotel is that when we checked in, our room was the biggest, it had a porche(i don`t know if i wrote correctly), bathtub, etc...The second day in the hotel the staff moved us to a smaller room, without porche, etc because the room was having a leack problem, so it was a little frustating since we were in our honeymoon. The second room was very good, but smaller than the first one. This episode was so insignificant due to the excellent service and quality of the Hotel. I'm definitly staying there again next time.

Stayed 2 different times during a 3 week period, before and after a cruise. We took a taxi to the hotel from the train station and were charged too much money, but we learned from this experience. We had lots of heavy luggage so taking the Metro, while only a few steps from the hotel is convenient, would not have been a pleasant experience with heavy bags. The entrance to the hotel is on a side street and not easy to locate, but the location is excellent as a main base while in Rome. Easy walking distance to Metro, Trevi, Spanish Steps, shopping, Via Veneto, Borghese Gardens/Gallery and very nice resturants. The room was new, clean and the twin beds comfortable - fresh fruit was supplied. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The buffet breakfast was good with a variety of food - although the bacon was just barely cooked. I miss eating salami for breakfast! The receptionist suggested a car to the port which was expensive, but worth the money with heavy luggage and the over one hour ride. A private tour of the Vatican was also suggested by the receptionist (expensive), but the three hours of private touring was nice (ask for tour guide Jorge). On our return visit to Rome after the cruise from the airport in Venice, we checked our heavy luggage at the airport (fee is nominal for a few days), took out a few things for two days and off we went on the Metro to the hotel. What a pleasure not to have all that luggage and the convenience of the Metro! I would stay in this hotel again although it was pricey, but am glad we had the location, friendliness of the staff and clean accomodations.

As we had never been to Rome before we booked this hotel because of its location and reviews we read on the internet. We booked a superior room as I was afraid that standard rooms would be just a bit too small. On arrival we were told we had been upgraded to a suite and therefore were delighted with the accomodation. It overlooked the Piazza Barbarini and the Triton Fountain, the open top buses stopped right outside and once we got our bearings, we were within walking distance of all the main attractions Rome had to offer. The breakfast was perfectly adequate - lots of cereal, hams, cheeses, bacon, eggs, pastries, etc and we were attended to by very pleasant and helpful staff. Yes, the accomodation may have been a bit pricey but if I was going to Rome again I would definately stay at tis hotel. All in all a wonderful short break!

My wife and I spent 3 nights at this hotel and loved it. We went a few days early (before our cruise) to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We actually stayed on the 2nd floor in the building beside the main lobby. The room was very large and clean. The hotel was within walking distance to all the attractions. We intend on going back to Rome and will definitely stay at the Barocco.

This was our first time at Hotel Barocco. The front desk staff was excellent. Helped us with a tour and dinner reservations. Location of the hotel was great. Close walk to Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Hotel had a wonderful breakfast(with cappucino included for free). They upgraded our room to Superior and it was lovely. We will definitely go back to Hotel Barocco.

We were spending two days in Rome prior to a cruise and found the accomodations great. Of course the rooms are small but anyone who has traveled in Europe expects that. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, even calling my shuttle company and accomplishing in Italian what I could not do in English. The location is about 6 blocks from the Trevi Fountain and good restaurants were close. The breakfast was good and better than I expected especially since it is included. I would definitely stay there again.

We were lucky to have been upgraded to junior suite with a large roof terrace boasting a view on the square -great place to have your morning cappuccino. It was a fantastic room with an ambiance. The hotel generally produced an impression of small, cosy and intimate, yet with a touch of luxury. Location is great, and there was no noise as I recall...although Piazza Barberini becomes a busy place at daytime. I would recommend it to friends visiting Rome.

Very comfortable hotel. All refurbished. spacious room. Perfect service. Very clean. very good breakfast served with top service. Convenient location related to subway and famous spots like Trevi or spanish piazza. Our room however was located at the 2d floor and was very dark : small window opening on a narrow and dark yard.We didnot care about that.

Hotel was well situated if you like the Via Veneto and Spanish Steps area. The staff during our stay could not have been nicer or more helpful. They recommended an excellent restaurant, helped us with directions, and arranged for a ride to the airport as well as accommodating our needs very pleasantly. The breakfast room was lovely and breakfast was excellent. We were traveling as a mother and daughter and had separate single rooms. They were small but within normal expectations for a European single. The rooms were spotless, pleasant and the bathroom was the best we had on our trip. It was fairly easy to walk to everyplace we wanted to go. I would return there in the future.

I would certainly recommend a stay at the Barocco, everyone was very helpful. Rooms were of a good standard and were very well maintained by the staff. The hotel is very central to all main attractions, with the bonus of the tour bus stopping right outside the hotel. We had a lovely stay, Rome is a fantastic place to visit, and this hotel is a great place to retreat to after a hectic day. Lots of bars and restaurants within metres, and the added bonus of being on the corner of the Via Veneto with it's shops and up market restaurants. Well worth a visit

We took Venere's recommendation on this trip, as we had never been to Rome before and we were most impressed. Fantastic breakfasts will keep you going all day. Beautiful hotel overall with great attention to detail. Room size was ample, not huge, but with nice touches including bathroom and fruit bowl (apart from black banana!). Our first time in Rome, and would return again to Barocco. Superb location for a short break - quiet room, even though you are close to the buzz of the city. Walked to most major sights. Good restaurants nearby also. Very friendly hotel staff. Just watch out for recommendation of front desk staff to organise a car to airport for €55. Better alternative is to ask them to call a taxi which arrives in 3 minutes and if you insist on the fixed rate with the taxi driver, you get to Ciampino airport for €30!

We needed a room for our only night in Rome, and wanted to be near the Spanish Steps and not too far from the train station; Hotel Barocco fit the bill perfectly. Very convenient location on a small side street just off the Piazza Barberini. We asked for and received a very quiet, non-smoking room at the back of the property. Room was small, especially given the price. Very nice breakfast. Very helpful staff recommended the nearbyTrattoria Tritone -- one of the best meals we had in Italy and at a very reasonable price. Nearby Ciao Pizza was also very good.

We had a really memorable stay in Rome. Excellent location. Tour bus stops 15 steps away from the Hotel. Metro around the cnr. Good shopping and quick walking access to a lot of good tourist spots. The room gave the impression of luxury and the size was good compared to most European Hotels. Just thought this hotel was perfect for our 3 day stay in Rome. We've travelled a lot in Europe and we just can't fault this hotel. Its in a perfect location, the tour bus, the train station, buses, best restaurants, everything, is right on your doorstep. The staff were excellent, really friendly. Only one VERY minor point, everything says the breakfasts are fantastic, but really they are nothing to get up for! The locatioh is worth every penny.

This was our first visit to Rome, and we read the hotel reviews online to pick our hotel. The Barocco was all that the reviews stated. The people were friendly, the hotel small and beautiful. My husband and I were in Rome for our first time. I took alot of time researching the right hotel, It had to be spacious. And it was, we had alots of room to move around it was not like being in a closet. I used venere for all my researching and We were 100% Pleased with the Hotel and staff. The hotel was clean, people were nice, we had turn down service every evening. And allthough they were renovating their breakfast room and it was temporarily unavailable- they still offered us cappucinno, fresh pastry, OJ, coffee and it was brought to our room every morning Right-On-Time! The hotel is right in the Piazza Barberini, so it is a BUSY square- you definitely feel the city hustle & bustle here, also making it convenient for transportation needs, cafe's, and gelato! We highly reccommend Hotel Barocco, Rome, and using Venere.com to help in planning and Booking Your trip. Ciao Sharon & Michael Taylor

If you seek a charming accommodations within a 15 minute walk from Villa Borghese, Hotel Barocco is the magnificent little jewel you are looking for. It is an incredible value for the money, decorated with impeccable taste. Such hospitality was an unexpected surprise. The bathroom was stocked with every possible amenity, dual showers, whirlpool in the bath tub. The bed was quite comfortable, extra pillows and blankets. Breakfast must be arranged the day before and is delivered at no charge by room service. Understand that the hotel is on a corner accessed by the front door facing the alleyway and shops. We stayed in 9 hotels during our 3 weeks in Italy. All were 4 star and 6 were with a Globus tour. Hotel Barocco was one of our two favorites. Fresh fruit, flowers and robes in our room upon arrival. Turn down service with slippers and foot mats. When we complimented the front desk on the hotel they told us they had been able to upgrade us to a deluxe room. I thought it was classy to just quietly do it and not make a big deal of it. Good location for many of the sites. Noisy outside but very good sound control with the windows closed. Delicious breakfast in an elegant room. It felt very comforting to come back to the hotel at the end of a long day of sightseeing. We would definitely stay there again.

The Hotel Barocco is a wonderful oasis in bustling Rome. I always felt as though I was coming home as I approached Piazaa Barberini. I had a single room, which was small but cheery and big enough for one. I had asked for a quiet room facing the back and the room I had was silent. The public rooms are cheery, delightful, and welcoming. There is a bar/salon with trompe l'oeil paintings of Rome, which was very inviting. Between my day's activities and dinner, I often sat there and read a book. The other guests were very friendly. The hotel staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. (It does help that I speak Italian.) They arranged for a limo to pick me up from the airport and helped me make my arrangements for my train trip from Rome to Sorrento. For those who decide on their hotel based on breakfast, the room was bright and cheery, and had everything one could possibly want at beakfast. It was quite centrally located and in a area of Rome with fewER tourists. It's not at the antiquities, but those locations are chaotic and noisy. My one small complaint was the bathroom. The shower, toilet, and bidet were on a level raised about three inches and the shower curtain didn't contain the water. On top of that platform, there was a sliding glass door, which raised the level even further. The opening was narrower than my shoulder, which meant I had to enter and exit sideways from the often wet floor. Since there was only a twin bed in the room, ithe privacy door was unnecessary. But it was a minor inconvenince. I wiould certainly stay there again and I recommend it highly, especially for those who like small, boutique hotels

This hotel was quite a disappointment. Our room was very tiny, with not much room to walk around the bed. The mattress was extremely hard which did not make for a good nights sleep. For the high price paid, it was not worth it. Breakfast and service was excellent. Front desk help was abrupt and cold.

Extremely happy with Barocco hotel. Very friendly reception. When we arrived the receptionist offered to arrange a taxi for us to the airport for our return flight the next day at a total cost of 45 euro which we found to be excellent. Breakfast was wonderful and the presentation of food was splendid. I forgot my bag in the breakfast room and when I returned to by room there was a knock on the door and the bag was returned to me. The hotel more than lived up to our expectations. The rooms were excellently furnished and decorated, spacious and well equipped. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the overall service very good. The location was good for sight seeing - all the main sights are within waling distance, and a metro station is just over the other side of the piazza outside the hotel. Our only critism is that there was a fair bit of traffic noise from the main road outside. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

We loved the Barocco! It was warm, charming, and very conveniently located. The staff, especially Ferdinando, was helpful and gracious. The breakfast was outstanding in quality, quantity, and presentation. Our room was extrememly clean and quiet, and the bathroom was well-supplied and the shower had great water pressure. The hotel is large enough to provide good service, but small enough to be intimate and feel cozy. We would definitely return.

Barocco is a lovely little hotel with a very unassuming entrance on a side-street. Great location - within easy walking distance of anywhere you'd really be likely to want to go to in Rome. The Barocco is a phenomenal 4-star hotel; a great value for Rome! We received a free upgrade to a Junior Suite that was tremenous: a loft area with chair and table above the main room; an expansive terrace that overlooked Piazza Barberini and P.Bernini's Triton Fountain. Staff was extremely attentive and courteous. Hotel had by far the best breakfast of any hotel we stayed in - even over 5-star hotels! Highly recommend the nearby Trattoria Tritone restaurant - casual, but probably the best dining experience we had in Italy - better than other restaurants in Venice, Florence and Capri that we spent well over 200 euros per meal for 2 people! Hotel is located in one of best area's of Rome. Short walk to the Spanish Steps, Spagna and the Trevi Fountain. Rome has a putrid metro system compared to other European cities, but there is a station right in Piazza Barberini that will take you to St. Peter's and Colosseum. Take in the Galleria Borghese if you get a chance - stunning sculptures and paintings in a beautiful setting! Much more so than the more famous Vatican Museums.

The Barocco is a delightful place to stay in Rome. The location is great, as we could walk all over Rome without any difficulty, and it was right next to a metro stop for trips across the river to the Vatican.
