This hotel is quite far from Termini station. The reception is on the 2nd floor, so you have to go up by a tiny elevator. It's quite far from downtown surroundings.

The hotel promises ac but it simply doesn't work ! It was 36 celsius degrees in Rome (august), so it was impossible to stay there! They also say there's internet access, but they don't say it's limited: i tried to use it in the morning and they said it was not possible because it was "breakfast time" !!!

We stayed for one night and are satisfied. Ok welcoming and no problems with anything. Very small and crowded breakfast room that shares with the reception. We had to get up early the next morning to get to the airport and could change our breakfast to the day of arrival instead (we arrive during breakfast hours first day) of leaving without any problem at all for the management. It lies about 10 minutes walk from Termini but with a map is easy to find. The area is safe and not part of the crowded termini blocks.

We opted to pay a little more(about £50 over 5 days) so that we weren't too close to Termini and could enjoy quieter evenings and so chose The Baltic. We arrived to courteous and efficient welcome. Our room, while small, was immaculate and well prepared; the bath/shower room was small but, again, spotless with a great shower and unlimited hot water. Air con. and double-glazing ensured an easy quiet sleep. People who use hotels frequently, often forget how great it is to return to your room of an evening and all the cleaning has been done and there is a fresh bed and towels.Good service. I recommend this place if you want a cheap place to stay in a more upmarket area (it's near several embassies)with a straight run into the centre of Rome.

this hotel was the worst at throughout my trip. staff does not speak very good english. you have to return your room key whenever you leave which was weird. we got a room the first night and literally you could hear everything outside. it was soooo loud. no jokes. then we complained and got a room upstairs. the room was small. the bathroom and toilet was one which was weird no space. the beds were comfortable but the double was two twins together which sucks for couples. the breakfast was not great except for the coffee. the area sucks. your in the financial district i think. termini station is close by, but buses in the night time sucks. overall i would not stay here again. the staff if you have problems do try to help, but they are limited. o, btw... the hotel is in a building on the second floor. the elevator to go up only holds 2 people more or less. it was weird. again i most likely would not go back.

We had a wonderful stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is going through some very historically sensitive renovations. Despite this they are very good at limiting its effect on the residents and accommodations. The location is a good compromise between close to the train station and the historic sites. We were able to walk to both.

Smaller room, nicely furnished though. Bathroom was clean. On a fairly busy road. Our room was directly behind the 24 hour reception. The noise was quite disruptive most of the night. There didnt seem to be an attempt to keep the noise to a minimum. Staying on the other side of the floor probably would have been quite different. Lovely, helpful staff and a nice, if small, breakfast.

I would recommend the hotel to a young couple on a budget who want to spend money on the museum entrance fees and not the overpriced hotels in Rome. Some of the rooms are in a separate building than the reception, though on the same block. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom clean. The breakfast is average but nice that is included in the price. It is a good 15min walk form Roma Termini. The reception cannot help with anything more than settling your bill (e.g. recommending places to eat, how to get somewhere, etc.); they also didn't care that I cut my foot on a nail protruding from the door in the room.

We got to the hotel and they had lost the reservation. After searching and searching, he found it but he had forgoten to get a room for us. In really rude maners he gave us a room with a shared bathroom, which wasn't really what we had booked and neither what we expected. The breakfast was just a pair of croissants and a pair of small breads and something to drink. The treatment of the employees wasn't ok, since, they also woke us up one day in a really rude way to remind us the time of check out but they had mistaken room since we were not leaving that day.The rooms were spacious but, too high price for non-bathroom ones.

this is a budget hotel. being the two start, you get accommodation that you paid for. there is no elevator. hotel staff will not help with luggage. all of the staff spoke English. the rooms are spacious and clean. our room was cleaned daily. bathroom was clean but small as in all other hotels that we stayed in Italy. the location is great. only 5 min walk from the water taxi and very easy to find. there are many restaurants with in 1 to 5 min walk from the hotel. there is a market next to the hotel that sells great bread and fresh meats and cheeses (had breakfast there daily). the water taxi ride to St.Marc/ Center of Venice is only 15 min away. We bought 3 day pas (72 hours) but no one ever checked those?! the hotel is about 40 - 45 min from the main train station.

We had a lovely stay in Hotel Baltic. My low rate for Welcoming is a result of the fact that at first we got a room with one very small bed (for my son and I who are both tall). The staffmember in charge made us walk three different buildings and could hardly make himself understood. In the end he gave us a beautiful room and after a shower and an hour of sleep everything was all right. The rest of the staff was very friendly; at breakfast and during the day. The room was lovely, very well kept, friendly ladies cleaning it thoroughly. We had lunch and diner in the vicinity and enjoyed it very much. Next time we visit Rome (we certainly will!) we'll come back to hotel Baltic.

the employees had poor english and sometimes it got very difficult for them to understand us, especially when we tried to explain that there is no Wifi whithin the whole hotel. They told us we would just need to plug the room's phone cable to our laptop....but it did not work at all, since the owner never subscribed for a wifi connection. so we "teached "them how to.... there was a new night-shif employee when we stayed there, and apparently he did not know a lot about his new job, especially when we asked him twice to wake us up in the morning, and he never did. the rooms are good, but we can hear everything from the other rooms, especially by night.. nice hotel tough, breakfast is fine and employees globaly willing to help.

This was our (2 persons)first time in the Baltic hotel. We had to find out for ourselves that the hotel is situated on the 2nd and 3d floor of the building, and how the doors work and the elevator to get there. With some help from other guests we managed to get on the right floor after 10 minutes. The person who welcomed us was friendly. The room was very very small, especially when you consider that you pay more than 100 euro for one night(!) but clean. The bed was too small for 2 persons (we also would have preferred 2 separate mattresses). The shower was small but nice and clean. Against the other side of the wall of our room was some sort of water heater which made noise from time to time. In the morning the breakfast was good, with nice bread (tip: maybe they can add some cheese and or meat to choose from, there was only jam). When we asked for some extra sheets we got it immediately, and when we asked some questions about Rome the employees were very helpful too. We indeed think that it was a 2 star hotel, but the price was too high for what you get.

Given that Rome like all of Italy is expensive and especially noisy, this hotel is an excellent choice for budget or other travelers (close your double paned windows for almost complete silence....but be aware the room will get stuffy. We walked ourselves each day to exhaustion so the noise didn't bother us at night from the restaurant below). The staff were all helpful and efficient in their duties. The location is a good one for walking to many of Rome's sights. Bus and taxi stops are also close. The neighborhood makes one feel safe being close to many ministries. Public Area received a "5" rating from us because it's really not applicable. The hotel has a check-in desk and breakfast area, there is no "lobby" so to speak....but who needs one in Rome? Excellent coffee to start each morning and the red-headed barrista is a gem!!

We stayed in the Baltic for 3 nights this July, and all in all can't complain about the hotel or the facilities. Yes breakfast is a little limited, but we found that this was a common theme in Italian hotels. Also it's a bit out of the way and so you need to get a bus to the tourist areas, but its only 5 mins and not really a problem. We went for a deluxe room and were very suprised by the quality of the room for the money - think Travelodge or Premier Inn. Also there are several nice restauants nearby. We were greeted by a not so friendly staff after a long train ride to Rome. We had to lug our bags up two flights to find out our room was in a building next door. We got a deluxe room which said it had air conditioning. But the air conditioning was only on about 6 hours a day. The guy at the desk said it cooled off at night and to just open our windows, upon doing so we were up most of the night b/c it was pretty loud on the street. We were not aware of this fact that the AC was only run at certain times of the day when we booked the hotel and were very upset. The location wasn't great. We were a definate hike to the main attractions. It's better if you stay on the other side of the Termini. Again, a misconception of the hotel ad. Overall, it was cheap, so that is what you get for not spending more money. But find a cheap place closer to sites....

We were very pleased with the Baltic, we booked at the last minute and they only had a small doble room available adn offered us a further discount. The bed was so comfortable that we didn't make it to breakfast though! The staff were delightful, and it is only a 10 - 15 minute pleasent walk for termini. The room was small but very clean and there was some noise from passersby outside. All in all a satisfying stay.

The hotel was incredibly welcoming and well refined. Though it is a two star hotel, its standards are quite high. The best rooms are the De lux, which are in a building next to the one where the reception is. On the other hand, just a short walk to the hotel is not a problem. The rooms are very clean and welcoming, and not so small as you could expect from a 2 star hotel. Personnel is kind and hasn't any problems to talk with foreign persons (I am Italian but I know English and understand if persons can speak English or are stattering some English words). The only problem is maybe due to the small area for breakfast: maybe you must wait for some minutes before having breakfast, but if you are on holiday it's not a big problem. In few words I suggest this hotel to you, since it is really in the centre (you can walk to the Hotel from Piazza di Spagna if you want), it is clean and after all not very expensive!!

Room was very, very small even though we had the double deluxe room. Staff weren't all that friendly. Room was in a different building to reception & breakfast. Fire exit and safety hazard was worry. We couldn't see a fire exit & we were on the 2nd floor. It was expensive for what it ws but I suppose for Rome it was the going rate. Not far from Termini which was convenient.

Rooms were small and simular to a dormitory environment. Very limited service provided. Breakfast was basically bread and butter with coffee. Location was in walking distance of two major bus stops, but few restaurants in the area.

The room was small and clean and the staff were friendly. As it is on a main street there is some traffic noise, but this is not excessive as there is double glazing. Hotel is within 15minutes walk of the Stazione Termini. I would recommend this hotel as a cheap option for accommodation in Rome. (but bring your own Iron!!)

The Baltic took us around 10-15 minutes to walk to from the main train station although this would have been faster is our suitcase had the use of both wheels! The man on reception seemed nice and we were checked in and shown to our room quicker than our walk to the hotel. The room itself was very clean although there was a strong smell of nicotine throughout which refused to disapait. One other thing I must mention is that our room was very small with barely enough space to move around the bed.The locality of this hotel does not offer a great range of resteraunts but the main attractions are not too far off once you become familiar with the area.I would recommend the Baltic for value for money....just not really for it's location.

I was okay with everything except the bathroom water was not working properly either to hot or cold but but the price and location was not too bad, and the people were friendly. There are many buses around the area and the metro is like one stop from the area.

We arrived late in the evening and the recepotionaist had clearly waited behind to book us in, which was good. Whilst this wasn't the normal picture of a hotel, with gound floor lobby and large lounge, (The hotel is on the second floor of the building and we had to go back outside, walk 20 metres and go the the first floor of another building for our room), we were very satsified with our stay. It was easy to reach the city centre and all attractions, either by walking or using the public transport system
