The hotel was definitely recommendable. it is near to the Termini Station (5 mins walk) which is the hub for metros/busses/trains. Train from airport stops at Termini. Sightseeing tours start/stop at Termini too. I recommend taking the hop on/hop off citysightseeing bus tour (only 18eur per person for 2 days pass!! the hotel is clean and comfy and staff are nice and helpful. the only negative thing is that the walls are thin.

I made the mistake of ordering a single room, rather than a double room single occupancy. That room was tiny. Also, the Garden is ok to pass through, but not really a place where you can sit for a while, very crowded, chairs uncomfortable

Very happy with the hotel. It was convenient for transport. The garden looked very pretty although it was a bit cold for us to sit in it during our stay.

The overall stay was wonderful but we were able to hear the people in the reception area throughout the whole night which we lost a couple of hours of sleep because of that.

We had a very good stay. The hotel was near the station and there were a good number of restaurants within walking distance. It was good value for what we paid although the room was small, we were very comfortable.Breakfast was adequate. Would certainly stay here again if we revisit Rome.

I only stayed one night at the Astoria Gardens but everything was satisfactory. The room was quite adequate and I had a view of the gardens from my window. The staff were very helpful giving me directions and even suggesting a wonderful and inexpensive place to eat that night. I enjoyed my stay here.

A very good price for a nice, clean, spacious room in Rome. Right next to the train station and within walking distance of a lot of nice restaurants. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone.

POSITIVES: Great location, 4 short blocks away from Termini station & Metro, as well as other restaurants & stores for provisions. A real oasis after a long day of pounding the pavement - spacious main floor common area, bar, terrace & inside tropical garden area, perhaps about 30 ft. x 30 ft. Updated with high-quality materials throughout, fine woods, marble flooring, other high-end appointments. Extremely polished, pleasant & helpful young staff, all of whom speak English. Breakfast area not open 'til 7:30 a.m., so I went only twice, but it was nice. DRAWBACKS - No coffee makers in the rooms; was aware of this in advance, so used my 220V. converter for heating element to boil water - worked out O.K. Big negative for Canadians/Americans - no ice machines; had to ask concierge each night for bucket of fast-melting ice & couldn't get ice at all in the early morning hrs. Very small room, only 11.5 ft. x 10 ft., incl. the bathroom - barely adequate for a single guy, but it was O.K. Cable TV worked OK, except CNN was the London edition, not the Atlanta one. Will stay there again (for the rates and amenities), but hope for coffee makers & ice machines. John Devine, Windsor, ON Canada

This hotel definitely exceeded our expectations. The staff was very friendly, our room very clean and spacious, and no surprises or hidden costs at all! Regarding its location, although not the prettiest neighborhood, it isn't dangerous and is very close to Termini station (train, taxis and Metro). When heading back to the hotel, try the pizzas at the restaurant in the corner just before entering the hotel's street!!

I was very disappointed with my stay at the Astoria Garden, as were my friends. We were told that they were not single beds in the rooms that we had reserved. The front desk told us, that if we had arrived earlier, they would have been able to accomadate us. They told us that they have had problems with your website, in the past. The rooms were very small, dark, with lack of ventalation. None of us would stay at this property again. We were in Rome, one week earlier, and had excellent accomadations for the same price. This hotel was overrated and overpriced. It was so disappointing to spend the last night of our wonderful holiday in Italy at this hotel. In all fairness to the staff, they were cordial but the facility I would never recommend to any of my friends.

Noise level of rooms defers a lot: rooms on the front (with window to the street) are much louder than rooms on the backside (with window to the garden). We changed the room because it was quite noisy on the front side. All in all we enjoyed our stay and think it is a good and nice little hotel.

Hotel was very clean and the staff friendly, courteous, helpful and efficient. Our room was excellent with extras such as a safe included in the price and the bathroom furnished with high quality fittings including a Jacuzzi bath. There was absolutely nothing to complain about and we even able to leave our luggage with the Hotel after checking out until late afternoon before we returned to the airport. This will be the first Hotel I try when next in Rome.

Many of the descriptions of the hotel have not been true - for example no minibar, no room-service, no whirlpool .. etc. so the rate has been very high for the service offered by the hotel. Rooms have been very small, but very clean. Breakfast was horrible - not to be recommended.

Having requested a triple room I expected three proper beds. For a seven night stay one would expect a change of bed linen considering the exceptional heat conditions. The breakfast was not varied, 1 choice of meat, 1 choice of cheese, no fresh fruit & no variation of the pasteries. Plus the constant requests to fill the breakfast selection. I have stayed at 2 star hotels that provide a mini bar & waste bin and a better breakfast selection. Overall I would only rate this as a 2 Star. The staff are pleasent enough generally but need to put in more effort to make it 3 star.

Overall we had a great stay at this hotel. There was one small problem...the jacuzzi bubble bath didn't work. The guy at the front desk said he would have it fixed but it never happened. If your staying at this hotel for the Jacuzzi bath better think twice.

Small but lovely hotel. Our room and bathroom were really small but the public areas had lots of marble and was very tastefully decorated. Also hotel people pleasant and helpful-except for the one who recommended the Nazzarone restaurant our 1st night. It was touristy with rushed surly waiter and bad food. We found in the neighborhood Cafe Varesiana (?) with good food and great house wine. Hotel close enough to the train station to walk but in a quiet residential area. Would stay there again.

The hotel is very conveniently situated, a five minute walk from the Stazione Termini. The room was a bit compact, but had everything we needed, and the place was immaculately clean. The staff were extrenmely friendly, helpful, and responsive.(I have had the reverse experience before in Rome !) I would recommend this hotel without hesitation - it's not cheap, but I'm glad we chose it.

This hotel offered outstanding value and we would recommend it highly. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. They even delivered to our room a complimentary bottle of wine on discovering it was our wedding anniversary. The hotel and the rooms were spotlessly clean and there was a certain charm in having a garden full of orange trees outside your room in a hotel right in the heart of Rome! Marble floors and falling oranges at a budget price.Excellent.

The hotel was very welcoming, clean and the staff were extremely helpful. The rooms are very basic and as we requested a jacuzzi (at a higher cost) we did expect a little more luxury in the rooms. For example, there were no tea/coffee making facilities and the lighting was poor, plus the tv was too high up (almost on the ceiling!) overall the hotel was good. I would definately stay there again if they updated their rooms.

The only problem was with the price. On an e-mail from the property which is what I brought with me for confirmation it was stated that the price was different from what they carged at check out. Their explanation has been hat the correct price is on your site and their e-mail was not binding. I find this a bit unethical. I honestly don't remember what your site stated as a price or if you even included the type of room we reserved in your pricing. But it was right around New Years when the prices go up and down during and after the holiday. The hotel was great, well located for the train and neat. It was not quiet, anything said outside the doors might have been in our room. Both nights someone decided to have extensive dialogue in front of our room. Oh, well. Thank you for excellent service. I will be using the site again for our trip in March. JB Sides

We had a very short stay and a very early departure the next day, but the staff was very helpful. The central garden area is delightful and the rooms back there are quiet. The overall facility was nicer than we expected. The hotel is within a short walk to the train station and lots of restaurants, but the area can be a little noisey.

This was a nice, tiny room in a quality estabishment. We did, however, find many less expensive (much larger) rooms nearby in Rome. I'd not make reservations in furture trips - in the off-season. I could have had the same room for much, much less if I'd just showed up at the door without a reservaation.
