exterior - entrance
The hotel Argentina is a welcoming property situated in the heart of Rome, on via Cavour, the road that connects the main railway station of Termini with via dei Fori Imperiali, where the Roman Forum is located.
Some of Rome's finest monuments, museums and squares including the Colosseum, the Campidoglio or Capitol Hill, and Piazza Venezia, can therefore be easily reached on foot.
As for the rest of the city, it can be quickly and effortlessly accessed, thanks to many buses circulating in the area, or by using the underground, which has a station located on via Cavour.

A horrid little hotel stuck several floors up a rickety lift in a multi-tenanted property which is in poor condition. Towels provided were actually sheets. The breakfast was revolting and the overall impression is one of gloom. I could not recommend this place to anyone

Excellent hotel near Termini. Clean rooms. Stayed in a single room with a bathroom nearly as large as sleeping room. Best bathroom in Rome, I am sure! Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Plenty of eateries near hotel. Hotel within easy walking distance of sites in Rome (Roman Forum, Vatican, Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, P. Navona, etc.) ; or, if you prefer public transport, Termini offers easly access to bus and metro. Hotel was very clean. Would stay here again. Hotel is in a buildilng with other hotels and private residences/offices. When trying to find hotel, be sure to look to street number and not large sign for Hotel Argentina.

This hotel is a gem for the traveler. It is 1.5 blocks from Stazione Termini (with bus/train transportation to all parts of Rome and beyond), 1.5 blocks from Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica, 1.5 blocks from a great laundromat, and within walking distance of so much. Clean and quiet!

Our accomodations at the Argentina were very good and very comfortable. The staff was very helpful and the continental breakfast was also very good. You are going to the 4th floor of this building to get to the Argentina but there is an elevator, small and slow, but it does go up and down.

Room comfortable sizewise. Bathroom small. Pillows needed to be replaced and there were only 3 in the room. Hotel very conveniently located near Rome Termini. Handy to tourist attractions. Hotel is on the 4th floor of the building. Lift v.small but better than none. Very quiet. Breakfast adequate but uninspiring.Married couple last stop on way out of Europe.

Hotel Argentina was close enough to Stazione Termini for us to use the bus services and the underground. The Forum was just a short walk away and there was an excellent retaurant (Roberto's) just outside the door. IN three days we were able to visit the Forum, St.Peter's, The Vatican and Trajan's Market with plenty of time to stroll to The Spanish Steps and Via Condotti (etc.) and all the other sights.

The hotel has a very good location (one can easily reach Termini station by foot). The staff is friendly and speak english good enough. The building faces a lively street, but two pairs of packet-windows are enough to make the rooms silent enough for sleeping.

I try to stay in a different hotel every time I visit Rome. So far, this hotel is one of th worst by far. First off, I chose it due to its position to the Termini station and that Venere.com says it has an internet connection which I use for business. It does not have an internet connection. The location is close to Termini however the hotel is tucked away in a side alley up 4 flights of stairs. You have a feeling of beig stuck in a tight location before you even get to the room. The room was tiny even compared by Roman standards. The bathroom was falling apart, the room smelled like mildew and the TV was about 9 feet in the air on top of a desk. I am definitely glad I checked in late and only had to spend 8 hours there... I do have to say this isn't the first time Venere.com didn't have their facts straight about hotel amenities.

The hotel website actually quoted 85-90 euros on the period of stay that i booked through VENERE!

The room was clean and large for Rome. Great location to walk to termini and get around on the Metro. Great air conditioning, as you were able to turn it on, unlike other hotels who tout A/C and heat. Nice blow dryer and ample bathroom. Unfortunately the bathroom smelled of sewage the whole time. Obviously no traps in the pipes. They blamed it on the rain. Bring perfume with you. Opening the windows did not help as it opened up to a courtyard of apartments with lots of oily foods cooking. I would not stay here again due to the bathroom smelling so vile and the staff lack of knowledge of Rome, even though the gal in the AM was very helpful. We skipped their breakfast every AM, as it was low quality. The counter cafe up the street on the corner had great espresso, pastries, and sandwiches. We ate there every AM. Home made pastries.

The room was very small but it's typical for European Hotels. It's okay for a single traveller. The Hotel is VERY close to Termini so from there, you can get anywhere in the city. The hotel is located on the 4th floor of a building so that could be a hassle if you have a lot of luggage as the elevator is very small. The staff were friendly & I would highly reccomend this hotel. Have fun in Rome!

We had a pleasant stay between 19.-24.10.2006 at Hotel Argentina. Personnel was kind, rooms were clean and safe, some noise came mainly from corridors (not outside), breakfast was better than expected and specially kids (12 to 17 years) were treated excellent. The whole process from reserving via Internet (first time) up to payment surprised me in very positive way. Everything was as promised and as agreed. Hotel Argentina locates in good place for both public transportation and your walking. I can recommend.

The Argentina was clean and accommodating. It is so close to the Termini Train Station that a taxi isn't needed, only about 2 blocks! Transportation via train, bus or metro is very close at hand. Also, it is close to good restaurants, etc. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. The Argentina shares a building with several other hotels, each on a separate floor, not a problem, just interesting.

The hotel is very well located. The rooms are very clean, and the place is very quiet, but I wouldn’t recommend the place if you are traveling in Europe for a while, and if you are planning to stay more then one night in Rome. About the prices, it was our most expensive hotel in Europe and the worst one we have picked in Venere.com The breakfast is very…very simple. People are rude sometimes, and if you need their help to deal with outside matters, they will help you just a little and if you beg a lot for it. The rooms are very small. Our shower was cold at first. Their heating was broken when we checked in, and they didn't tell us until the cold shower was taken. The hotel shares an old building with 2 or 3 more hotels, so you can have an idea how small Argentina is. I don’t recommend this hotel for vacation if you are planning to stay in Rome longer then one day with a family, or as couple. The price is not worthy compared to the quality of the hotel. You can find better hotels for cheaper prices and better service quality; however if you are students traveling in a cheap way, that is the best place to stay without a question!

For my first time in Rome, I was really happy to have found this hotel. I really liked the fact that it was so close to Termini Stazione, as well as the metro stop. The staff was incredibly helpful and gave me great directions and recomendations for near-by restaurants. The breakfast was typical continental breakfast fare, however it was plentiful and good! I was in Rome for a while, so I was happy that there was plenty of space to unpack and make the room feel like my home. My only two complaints are that the wall separating me from the next room seemed paper thin. I heard absolutely EVERYTHING the couple said and did in the room next to mine. And I wish they had internet access.

Our room was quite spacious but not much of a view. The rest of Rome made up for that however. In fairness all we needed was a place to rest our heads. The hotel is within walking distance of most of the main archeological attractions of rome. If you aren't much of a walker then no fear as the "termini" (local train station) is a stone throw away and also the metro is around the corner. This hotel wasn't quite what we expected, it is located in a building with one hotel per floor, and the Argentina is located on the 4th floor. When we checked out, the elevator was broken and we had to walk down four flights of stairs with luggage. Although the hotel served its most primitive purposes, we don't plan to use it again. Must say though, that the person who checked us in, was exceptional in his welcome and in providing information on Rome.

The summary of our stay of five days in Rome in November 2003 is good. We reached the reception on a Sunday at 9.30 a.m. and the rooms weren`t finished because the check-out has to be done at 11.00 a.m. already. We came back at 12.00 a.m. and we had to wait another 35 minutes until we could go in. So it is highly recomended not to reach that early. Our room was very quiet, the main street was on the opposite site of the hotel. I think it can be quite loud otherwise. Overall the cleanliness in the room is good. Breakfast is quite poor. If you like ham, cheese, eggs for instance you will not be satisfied. There is no bread or butter either. But for us this wasnt very important because we wanted to explore this spectacular city. The staff was quite friendly. If you want to stay at more or less cheap cost a whole week the Hotel Argentina is a good adress. The location is exellent. Just a 100 m. away from the central station Termini and also, of course, the main metro station. Less than a 1000 m away from the magnificant Colloseum!!! 80 Euros the night in a double-bed.

We have stayed 3 days. It is on Via Cavour which is very close to Termini and Collesou. You can walk to Termini and go every where to Rome. Employees were polite, rooms are large and clean. Our double room was clean but the furniture was a bit old. Also, the washroom had a bad smell. Our main problem was with customer service. The man at the front desk during the day was rude and ruined our stay. After our first night's stay he called us early in the morning and rudely accused us of causing 5 power outages in the hotel. He claimed that we had plugged in something electrical that was causing the problem. After we proved that it wasn't us, he didn't apologize and just pretended like there wasn't any problem. When we were checking out he didn't even look at us or say a word to us. He just kept talking to a friend of his. I wouldn't recommend staying here. You can stay a little closer to the train station/metro (which is very convenient for getting around) for less and probably in a better hotel.
