The room was a great size and the buffet breakfast included many options, including cereal, cooked breakfast, yoghurt and fruit. The location was the only let down but the metro system was easily accessible and close, although a late night walk to the metro requires caution, one may encounter prostitutes. Parking was great for the car and free. Overall, a great hotel.

The room was huge and not far from the station but it's a bit of a seedy area, obviously a prostitute area at night on the way home from the station, glad I had my husband with me although we never felt unsafe but I wouldn't do the walk without a man. The photos of the hotel make it look so modern but even though it was nice enough it was a little shabby in comparison to the photos. Dogs barked so much from early morning, lucky we are early risers because it was incessant. Great little place on the way to the station for breakfast and so cheap too.

Off the beaten track, but easy reach by Metro. Excellent hotel for the price. Air conditioner was not working even after reporting same to desk. Shower in bathroom is not large enough for a normal sized person. About 10 inch doorway and if you drop the soap you have to step out of the shower to retrieve it. Hundreds of TV stations, but not one in English. Nice to have CNN for news.

First - this is NOT a four star hotel, although it really has four stars above it's entrance. Room was nice and bathroom was big and clean, but the shower was the smalles we had ever seen (too narrow even for the person which is 1,64 m high). Further - room walls and carpet were covered with stains, and such thing is not allowed even for a hotel with less than four stars. Reception personnel is OK. Some of them speak English very well, some of them don't, but that was not a problem. The biggest problem we had in Hotel Area was that we were robbed, not once but twice. Perhaps we made mistake because we didn't take safe box, but we could not even imagine that such thing could happen! We did not wanted to make fuss and problems, but on the day of our check out we informed people on the reception about that. Honestly, we didn't think that hotel would find it just and right to compensate us, but we expected at least some sort of an apology. But till this day (we checked out on January 26th) we did not received any letter from them. Please, for the sake of your users, warn them about this.

Hotel Area has been a perfect location for our visit to Rome. Free parking, breakfast included, great quality rooms, extreme closeness to metro station "Marconi". All that with one of the best prices you'll be able to find in Rome. Just a little problem: the room temperature was too high. we solved the problem opening the window during the night. Definitely, Hotel Area is a great solution for every rome visitor's need, and it is going to be my main accomodation for my next visit to rome.

For the money, it was excellent. A bit over-heated (I slept with windows open in January) and I could hear the man in the next room snorring, but the location was great, hotel clean and efficient, and price right.

Room temperature on arrival too high, but after some search located the regulator. Excellent breakfast in clean and well organized hall. Remark: checking in and out took a bit too long.

The hotel is located in a quite location. It is 7 stops away from the central train station. Thus takes about half an hour to reach city center. The room is a bit small, personally I think it is not a four star hotel, as there are no facilities. The breakfast is very good, definitely value for money. We have difficulties in finding the place as the google map direct us a rather weird route. In fact, it is simple to walk to the place from metro station. Cross the road in front of you and turn left, walk for 7-10 mins until u see the hotel's directional sign. And turn right into a side road and you will see it.

We stayed 7 nights in Rome for tourism. We had to ask on our way how to get to the hotel. Metro stop is MARCONI (10 minutes from the city center), when getting out of the metro station, walk 2/3 minutes straight further south past a gasoline station, a few little stores and a hotel on the left, then cross the main road. Walk further the same direction past a religious school (Sta Anna) and a small gasoline station, there is a poster indicating the hotel, turn right after the gasoline station. Overall good hotel and service provided, very helpful staff, the only limitations being the fact that 1) it was difficult to have a drink at the bar in the evening, staff being too busy at the reception to serve us and 2) the staircase carpet, which I found somewhat dirty (stained and not vacuum-cleaned frequently enough, it may also have been due to clients not being considerate enough). I would anyway recommend this hotel.

The room was very clean. The welcoming woman was unfriendly and unhelpful. Later questions were answered wrongly - only 1 woman at the reception was extremely kind and helpful and smart. The room was super. The breakfast was very good but the logistic was extremely poor - we had to ask for everything.

Very good place for the price payed! The metro is close but the indications to reach the hotel walking from here could be improved (given). Rooms are spacious and very clean, breakfast is very good to Italian standards. I would stay here again for sure.

The hotel is far from the main attractions (7 metro stops) but the station is only 5-minute walk from the hotel so it's not bad. Very large and very clean room so it's well worth the distance. Nice staffs and buffet breakfast. Highly recommended.

The furnishings in my room were excellent and much better than I would have expected for the room price paid. The breakfast was also good. The only problem was that my room was next to a lift shaft, which was sometimes quite noisey. I was attending a conference at the Sheraton Roma and Prime Hotel Area is a cheaper alternative to stay at, although walking to the Sheraton isn't easy and involves an exciting journey along the edge of a busy main road. It would also make a reasonable base for sight seeing in Rome as it's near the metro and better value than many city centre hotels.

We stayed here in September 2009 and had a wonderful stay! We initially had some reservations about staying here since the hotel is further from the city center but we had no troubles at all. The city is only a short train ride away and the hotel was a short walking distance from the metro (5-10 minute walk, not hard to find at all). The hotel was very modern and clean. Cleanliness is the most important factor in a hotel stay for us and the rooms exceeded our expectations. It is a great value for the price. Highly recommended!

The positive: Only 5 minutes walking from the metro station (Marconi), in a very quiet location; Very comfortable bed and room; The cleanliness of the rooms. The negative: Breakfast could be better for a 4 stars hotel; The rooms were extremely hot, and with no way to control it (employee says to open the window...); The Internet wireless access in not free (10€/24h); Very little services/shops/restaurants in the neighborhood, only some hundred meters away.

This is a very nice hotel. Only problem was finding it the first time. It would be really useful to provide a walking route from Marconi station. In fact it's very easy, but the first time I got confused at the station and walked the wrong way. In all other respects the hotel exceeded my expectations. I had a single room which was very spacious and well furnished. The whole hotel is well air conditioned. Breakfast was plentiful and with lots of variety. I thought it was very good value for money and would certainly stay there again.

Per un parcheggio all'aperto davanti all'hotel! Inaccettabile.

Stayed for 5 nights in March 09. Location near to Metro station, so had no trouble getting around. Rooms and service were exactly as described in the website. Staff friendly and helpful. guests get free use of the hotel's PC in the lounge (not mentioned in the website). Buffet breakfast was excellent. Only negative I could think of was that sound from the corridors could be heard loud in the room. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Hello All, We have spent 2 nights in this hotel, and we recommend it without second thoughts. It’s a clean hotel, so near to the metro line ( about 300 m away from Marconi station ) that can make it a very good “base” for a tourist trip in Rome. Best regards, Dragos Gheorghe

A very convenient and comfortable place to stay for a few days, at reasonable price. The surroundings of the hotel is certainly the weakest point, but at least it is close to the Marconi metro station. It is not that easy to find the hotel building for the first time, since at the address given there is instead a primary school and the hotel is somwere behind it.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in January. The location in quite good, it's quite near to the metro line B (blue), and you have to stop at MARCONI. then go left for 400mt and cross the road. the hotel is not immediatly visible, but you have to take the street on the left just beyond the ERG petrol station. The hotel is very nice, the employed also. the room is not so big, but is very clean. the breakfast is satifactory, with sweet and salat food. is a pity that there's no restaurants nearby, so you need the car,or you can take the metro and go downtown. the only negative thing is that in the room it was INCREDIBLE HOT: we stayed all the night with the window open and without blanket, but it was very hot anyway, without possibility to limit the temperature. The price for the park is 12€ by day and not 10. in general, a very good hotel.

The hotel was advertised as new but it was actually a renovated part of a school. the remainder of the school is still active and the kids disturb any hope of a morning sleep in. the showers were smaller than any other hotel i stayed at in italy. the construction is poor and only half done. we had to switch rooms three times before we got one that was satisfactory. the location was undesireable and though only a short walk from the metro it is dark and poorly lit from the hotel to the main street. In addition to the school there is some kind of kennel next door and you can hear dogs barking loudly all through the night. The day staff was friendly but spoke limited english. The evening staff was terrible with one especially mean spirited clerk who had such a bad attitude it was enough to make me seek out another hotel for my next visit to rome.
