We visited Rome for the second time. Being this one a lot more enjoyable, because the hotel was a good choice. Eventhough it seems faraway, it is very easy to get there. Just a few steps from the metro station. Just take your left as you leave the metro station and the hotel is a hundred yards away. It seems to me that this hotel used to be a big "roman quinta" on the city outskirts. Our room was not on the main building, but on a new section of rooms located on the garden, wich faced a great parterre of rosemary. Rooms are not large and simply decorated, but clean and our bed had a good matress. Shower is very small, but not a problem. On the other hand, you have a nice mini frigobar, and a lovely bench next to your door to sit on the evening, sipping a nice cup of wine and enjoying the smell of the roses and rosemary of the lovely garden that surrounds the hotel. There is also a nice supermarket just accross the avenue, very convenient when you get tired of paninis and focaccias. Breakfast is o.k. Not many options, but nice. I would say this is a very good election.

The address indicated in venere is only one of the addresses the hotel has, it is between 3 streets: Via dell' Arco de Travertino, Via Genzano, and Via Valgio Silvilla. The hotel is situated in a suburb of Rome, about 4 km outside the city walls and 8 metro stations from Termini. The metro station "Arco de Travertino" is 5 Minutes from the Hotel. Two supermarkets are nearby. The Via Arco de Travertino is a very busy street, so the hotel is not quiet. You cannot sleep if you keep your windows open. The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is OK. The restaurant very near the Hotel has good meals, one waitress there speaks French, no one speaks English, I visited them three times and was very content. With bus 765 (bus station in front of the hotel) you can go directly to Via Appia Antiqua.

While the room was rather small but nice and very clean (except for the water leaking out of the air conditioning), the hotel itself is really a bit far from the city center and located right next to two roads leading out of Rome. The noise is accordingly. Plus, as Ciampino airport is not too far away, you also have incoming planes passing over the hotel. And forget looking for the street, nobody knows it. Just look for the prominent pink building next to the street, just two blocks from the metro station Arco di Travertino. The surrounding area is quite o.k., although it rather ressembles a Spanish seasite resort. On a positive note, our room surprisingly had a nice terrace, breakfast was really good, the staff was very helpful, and Ciampino airport can be reached by train and bus. I would not recommend it, though, for peace and quiete seeking lovers of Roman city center architecture... :)

The staff was very friendly. The location is just about a block walk to the metro station which can have you to "downtown" Rome within minutes - very nice! Staff was friendly and great.
