We booked two rooms in this hotel on Venere.com because it was in the heart of Rome and it had over an 8point rating. The pictures looked good online. We arrived too early to check in, around 1pm - so we left our bags and did some sight-seeing. When we came back early that night, we went to take showers, and realized there was an orange mold in all the grout in the bottom half the shower. Both ourselves, and the other half our party had the same orange mold issue. We went downstairs to speak with the concierge (seemingly the only person on duty that evening) and he seemed uninterested and unconcerned. We asked if he could see what he could do to correct the problem and left for dinner, giving him time to correct the problem. When we returned - he said nothing about our request. In fact - I think he had forgotten altogether.Or perhaps he was hoping that we had forgotten! We asked again, stating that the uncleanliness of the shower made us wonder about the rest of the room... he did let us look at FOUR other rooms....all of which had unclean showers. In the elevator we met an older couple who expressed that they too had problems with their room, were disappointed in the hotel in person, saying it was "nothing like what they expected" after seeing the online photos. We even asked if he could have housecleaning just come clean the orange mold.He said "no". He became uncooperative and defensive. We ended up leaving the hotel at 10:30pm on foot with our bags in tow, in search of a clean hotel. I do NOT recommend this hotel if you have issues with unclean bathrooms! As of yet, they have not attempted to charge our credit card - which I do appreciate. I checked #5 for the fields that I have no knowledge of, since we did not end up staying the night.

Excellent hotel at fantastic location. Nice spacious rooms. The only problem we encountered is too weak and outdated air conditioning for such a hot period of time.

Dear Venere, I emailed your customer service department upon reentry into the US on July 30th. My stay with Hotel Antico Palazzo Rospigliosi had to be cut short because the wireless internet services promised on the website on by phone prior to booking were not provided. As a business traveler with a considerable amount of work to do in my room, this meant that after 3 days (I had originally booked 5), I was forced to leave and find another hotel. Although I was originally told by the hotel that this was not a problem, upon check out, I was rudely threatened the staff and charged for all 5 days. I was told to take the problem up with Venere and am still waiting for your reply to my email. Please contact me as soon as possible. Thank you, Michael Fiorentino.

Great location about 12 to 15 minutes walk from Termini Rail Station, and just across from Santa Maria Maggiorie. This converted palace was very charming, and the room we had was excetionally spacious. It is conveniently located just off Cavore. Strega Restorante and Noeva Stella were very good nearby restaurants. The Termini Metro station was convenient but very crowded at rush hour. The location was about a 30 to 35 minute walk, downhill, to the Roman Forum.

The breakfast room, maid service and bellboy were very friendly but the management staff was cool. The property is well-appointed and maintained, but the location is not very good.

1 I thought the price was a little high, given that there was no bar and no restaurant in the hotel. Basically this was a bed and breakfast - albeit a very nice one and there were plenty of restaurants nearby. 2 The staff were helpful and pleasant. 3 The car we had booked from the airport via the hotel did not arrive for over an hour and we had to chase it up. This was an annoying start to the holiday. And another member of the family had the same experience on the same trip. 4 Breakfast was a bit dull. 5 Excellent location. 6 Room was lovely and spacious.

We spent 4 nights in the Hotel which were enjoyable .Toilerties & towels were very good . The room was spacious and clean. The Hotel was very central ,beside the Santa Maria Maggiore and a short walk from the Termini. The staff were professional ,helpful and friendly and recommended good restaurants .
