The room was narrow and uncomfortable. Worst of 4 hotels where we lived in this trip. Breakfast - typical for 3*, however, quite sufficient. But a site - excellent. Near to all tourist places in Rome. It is a lot of small restaurants, little shops and so forth Specially there went there to have dinner, even living in other hotel.

I have spent 3 nights in this hotel with my partner in October. The location is excellent, Everything is really close, very easy to find from the Cavour tube station which is one stop from Termini, 20 minutes walking if you don't have a suitcase. The staff was fairly nice. The receptionist, I met the first night was helpful, gave me tips where to go, to eat. But overall they were not too enthousiastic. The girls at the breakfast service were cheerful and smiley. The food was good and plenty. The cleanliness is not the best, bedcover stained, the corners in the bathroom were not cleaned for 3 days and were full of hair...a tiny bit disgusting. The room had a little balcony overlooking the garden, room was small but more than enough if you just spend the nights there. The isolation is not too good, if you have a bit louder neighbours, you could hear everything, but as I am a good sleeper, it did not bother me. We came here to see Rome, we did not spend too much time in the hotel so I can say the overall experience is ok. Excellent location for the price.

I stayed two nights in this hotel, to get the one positive out of the way - the location is excellent, not only because it's very near the colleaseum but also because I really liked Via dei Serpenti where the hotel is located. It's got a good vibe about it with nice cafeterias, gelatarias , pizzerias and a good mix of locals and tourists. My first impressions of the hotel itself could not have been worse. I was greeted by the worst customer service experience I've ever encountered at a hotel reception . The man serving me asked for my 'documents' with the charm of an octopus and ordered me where to stand and where to leave my bag and where to sign the paper with the authority of strict school master. Not a nice welcome, I left my bags in my room then was going out to meet some friend so I made the mistake of asking him some questions. It was 10pm when I arrived so I would have appreciated help to find my bearings and advise on how to get to my desired location but was met with only yes and no dismissive answers. The next day there was a red head woman on reception and I thought to myself, this will be different, maybe last night was just a bad night but no, she was equally rude and dismissive if not worse. I felt like an intruder anytime I went to reception to pick up my key for fear of disturbing them.Greeted with sighs and frowns and general disdain. I don't like to single out people in reviews, but I believe this is fair based on my experience. I'm not a fussy traveller, have stayed in one dollar a night hostals in Bolivia and have been treated as a more valued customer than these people treated me. Unbelievable. I left and spent the rest of my trip in Hotel Twnety One (superb on all accounts!) Antifeatro lost out purely down to the attitude of their staff. THe walls in the rooms were paper thin, and the room itself tiny - I could have lived with this no problem, but I wont put up with an attitude than brings my mood down. Avoid.

This hotel was exactly what we were after - a cheap venue in the heart of Rome. Rooms were ample for our quick visit (2 nights) from which we could stage our whistle-stop tour of the highlights of Rome. Staff weren't the most 'affable' and breakfast left a bit to be desired but the rooms were tidy enough and suitable of your needs. Wouldn't recommend it to "me Mum", but no problem for "the lads".

Smallish room but, who needs anything more when after soaking up all the wonderful things of Rome, all you want to do is sleep. Furniture is basic "Ikea" but, new and nice. Very clean and staff was absolutely wonderful, polite, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and speak English extremly well. Breakfast is NOT just rolls and coffee. They have a dining room with fruit, juice, milk, cereal bread, meat, pastries, expresso and wonderfully polite attendants. Anything else you could want is available on the same block and the Colosseum can be seen down the street less than a 10 minute walk. If you don't have too much luggage you can want to the hotel from the train station, too. Otherwise it's one stop on the subway. Great price, very central and convenient to get to all the other great things in Rome.

Me and my boyfriend came to stay for easter weekend. On arrival we thought the building/reception and staff was good.. then we were givin a room key!! from there, it was just a disgrace! i had to take the lift alone with the case while my boyfriend used the stairs, the lift was so small, we both couldnt get in with our 1 case! i have seen bigger shower cubicals! also we had to pull out a large bag of dirty bedding that the maid sent down the lift to be washed, before i could get in! then when we got to the landing our room was on, there was a small stained 2seat sofa next to our door, it smelt bad and looked like it had been there since the hotel was made! then we went in the room, oh my god, i have never seen such a hovel, the only way i can actually describe the way the room was.. is to compare it to a crack house! it was nothing like the pictures on the net! the curtains were dull dark and dusty, just like the bed quilt! the ''double'' bed we were paying £350 for, turned out to be 2 single sized caravan beds pushed together, which made a large average sized single bed! me and my boyfriend are both slim so we would have only just fit in the bed! god knows how they expect overwieght people or couples to share that bed?? its beyond me! then the onsuite was a joke, the shower was so so small i'd have fit in being a size 8-10, but my boyfriend would have struggled to stand in there and freely washed himself properly! the space around the bed was just terrible, about a foot (30cm) both sides of the bed and at the end of the bed! that was our £350 room! 2 caravan beds 30cm foot space and a dwarfs bathroom, situated in what looks like a crack den!! we were not staying here! we took our cases and found something else.. i cant say how breakfast is here as we left after 30mins! we very luckily landed a 5star hotel for £400 the 3 nights, just around the corner, it was amazing, 'la griffe' stay there its perfect!

It's such an excellent hotel located between Colesseum and Via Nazionale. It's so near to everwhere, very easy to have all the bus on via nazionale. It's safer than other hotels which are next to Termini station. Personnel is so welcoming and helpfull. We stayed for 7nights and we loved our hotel with Colesseum view. Bon voyage a tous.

Great part of hotel is proximity to Metro Station, Colliseum & attractions, and a gellato store across the street. Bad part is the cleanliness of the room (Floor had dust and hair), thin walls (couldn't sleep at all the first two night given the noisy activities next door wjere you can hear every word and actions taking place), Towels were changed only every other day and bed linen every three days, soap enough for one person (there was 3 of us), and uncomfortable mattresses (had a spring poking into my back my entire stay). Complained to hotel, and they would only provide another room at additional cost. Do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed in a 3-person room (+ 1 Yorkshire Terrier), quarters were a bit cramped but that is to be expected in any affordable city-center hotel. We booked the hotel mere hours before check-in and the last-minute booking posed no problems, the room was ready and the staff that greeted us were very friendly. The location is excellent, but the entrance is not easy to spot/the address is not easy to find. Overall, the hotel was exactly what we were looking for: good location, comfortable accomodations, for a reasonable price. My only complaint is that there is no wi-fi in the rooms. On our last evening we asked the front desk staff for a restaurant recommendation, we almost didn't ask because we expected they would point us in the direction of a nearby tourist-clogged establishment, but we were very pleasantly surprised by the raving referral to a restaurant in Trastevere which turned out to be excellent. Really, really, excellent. I will stay at this hotel again on future visits to Rome (of which there will be many).

I got a good rate because I took single occupancy of a double room. The deal rate was realistic as the room was tiny and only just fitted the double bed! But it was very clean, breakfast was good, the location is excellent and the staff were very helpful. Perfect if you just want somewhere clean to sleep in a good location.

Great value for money. The location is amazing, and quite practical too, 5 minutes walk to the Colosseo, Piazza Venezia, Via Nazionale and Viale Cavour, with some good restaurants and shops around. The service was good and all the receptionists were very helpful. Our room was called "Teodosio". It was on the small side, and you could hear the occasional noise from the water pipes, but it was on the back, so quiet, and hey... more than worth the price we paid. Particularly recommended for the occasional week-end.

We stayed at this hotel twice during our trip. One of the staff members (dark haired) was very helpful with information. elevator worked, but we didn't use it. it is very close to the coliseum and about a 15/20 minute walk to the train station. in regards to our rooms. the first one was fine, 2nd floor, but the heater wasn't working, which we learned was another problem with another group that had stayed the night. the second stay we got a room on the 1st floor (both rooms were in the back), which was a little louder with people coming into the building, but wasn't really something to complain about. the heat worked magnificent this time which made up for not being toasty during the first stay. bathrooms are standard for italian bathrooms. small separate standing shower, sink, and toilet. breakfast was delicious. coffee, tea, cereal, fruit, yogurt, pastries. also they are willing to watch your luggage if you need to keep them there after you check out or before you check in. i would recommend this hotel to anyone who is just looking for a decent place to stay, nothing fancy.

the general experience was average. the good parts were that it is very well situated (near the metro and near the city centre) it was clean and the price (breakfast inclusive) was very good. By the way, sb must say to the woman at the bar of the breakfast that she should close the water supply when for example she is cleaning the tables, its so environmentally wrong, its the part i hated most in this hotel. The bad parts were that the room was incredibly small..we find it almost hard to put our laggage on the floor due to lack of space, also the public areas were frozen, the room had an aircondition that was centrally operated (we couldnt open or close it, the manager did so in specific hours) so the room was quite cold, also the window mechanism was broken and i had to invent a patent to close it, also the hotel had a "racistic" elevator (if you are over 120 kgs you cant use it cause its so small). oh and something more, at fridays and saturdays there was considerable noise from 2-3 bars around until 2-3 in the morning. and also there was light coming in the room from the frame of the door so for people like me that want complete darkness to sleep it was a problem. concluding, in the question if i would choose it again, i would say i am kind of indeferent, meaning that i would look for something equivalent but i wouldnt bother looking a lot, i could stay to the same again. note that i was leaving at 9 in the morning and i was returning at almost midnight. people that care to spend more time at the hotel should not choose it even if that means paying more somewhere else.kisses

I want say before that I have payed only 45Euro for a double room without breakfast, it is a lastminute price, and I think that it is a good price for my room (called Tiberio), if the price had been much more expensive I think that it was'nt a good price. Because the room has old fornitures and also bathroom was very small with old accessories. Staff was very friendly and helpfull.

The recepsionist woman was very unfriendly and tried to give us a room which was opposite site of the hotel building. We complained us about and said them we will not stay in that hotel. Then she had to give us another room (again very unfriendly)in the hotel building. Please be carefull when booking. They can and will give you a very small overpriced room in other building. Do not accept it. Other than these problems other hotel employee is very friendly and location of the hotel is very good. Close to Collesium and metro station.

Everything was great but the photograph on the web showed a family room with space around the beds. We had a double a single and a camp bed, no room to sit at the desk no room to put suitacses other than outside the room which caused a safety problem and no space to put our clothes or shoes. the hotel was very clean, breakfast great, staff great but the room was much too small for 4 people.

First time in Rome and we chose a popular hotel located in a strategic place - close to public transport (Metro). We received excellent treatment relative breakfasts invested, not like Israel but okay. Particularly small little room that is where 4 people (family) but we did not get to spend in Rome, we strongly hope to return again to this hotel. Clean room Mauser new shower and air conditioning pretty good - it is important that street noise could definitely interfere. Excellent staff attitude, give help and advice. Really nice!

The Hotel is in a good location to visit most sites of interest, and a small square within 100 metres is a popular gathering point, providing a pleasant spot to have a drink and unwind after a day's walking! The double room we had (2nd floor front) was smallish but adequate, although an extra single bed took some space. The full sound of water flushing through pipes was unnerving, but fortunately didn't generally wake us. The room you get will colour your views. Breakfast was plentiful, and the staff very nice and very helful. In our view, a good budget Hotel in a good location.

The man at the desk said that there was 24 hour reception and that we could come and go whenever we wanted to. You have to be buzzed in every time you go in. We stayed in a rather small room in the basement. However, it was perfect for our needs: Cheap, clean, plenty of hot water, quiet! Staff was friendly and welcoming, every single day. Breakfast was fine, no more no less. The hotel is located some 10 mins walk from the Colosseum, which is visible from right outside the front door. I found the staff pleasant and helpful, the rooms clean, but smaller than the photos on the web page, and the position of the hotel fantastic, we could see the top of the coloseum over the rooftops from our balcony, and we were five minutes walk from the forum. The only black mark was the lift-very small and with a tendancy to never arrive when you called it, at which the staff would turn it off and on again...which made me pretty nervous travelling up to the fifth floor!

We found the hotel itself to be quite adequate and reasonable value considering its favourable position within walking distance of all the major sights and shopping that Rome has to offer. However, the rooms were a little small with barely enough space to put our two backpacks down anywhere without falling over them! The main drawback to this hotel was the very rude and unfriendly behaviour of one of the receptionists - we actually spoke about this with the owner - but all the rest of the staff were very obliging and cheerful. The breakfasts could also do with improving, as the croissants and rolls were only fresh on the first day - after that we had to buy our own food as those on offer were dry and inedible!

it was mildy amusing we had to get dressed to go to the bathroom as we had to leave the room, but we were there for one night so the price we paid matched the requirements we needed and an on-suite toilet wasn't a major concern. we liked the balcony though(which you had to climb up to!) and the location was amazing. we were at the collessuem within 5min walk and the trevi fountain within 15 min. a great place for mooching around!! i can highly recommend making your way to the trastervere district for evening entertainment and food

I have had a great stay there. Not there really. The bed and breakfast was full but the owner looked for me an other hotel next to its one. And this was important to get its vote higher. It'd have been a problem not to find the room after reservation! Anyway even in the new hotel the service and the whole quality were good, very good!

The room was ok as we didn't stay there much, just at night. The location was excellent. You could see the Colisseum from the hotel door. The area was great, ice-cream shop, bars, restaurants, delicatessen, chemistry, subway, everything just there. I would highly recomend this hotel.

Piatti della semplice colazione incrostati. Caffè tipo "Miscela Leone". Camera tripla piccola anche come doppia. Armadio del tutto insufficiente. Aria condizionata sparata sul letto. Televisore a quota due metri e dieci. Mancanza di uno sgabello in bagno. Sciacquoni della camera vicina a 100 db. Ascensore mini. Lo consiglierò comunque per il rapporto qualità - prezzo.

It is very nice hotel, excellent location at a walking distance from Coliseo, Fontana di Trevi and Termini Train Station. I also walked from the hotel to Vatican City, it took about 1 hour. I could stay here again and recommend it to other people. Restaurants around are very nice and not expensive.

We were extremely dissapointed with this hotel. The rooms were tiny and the photo's didn't correspond with the hotel at all. The fountain pictured "outside" is infact a block away outside another B&B. The first room we had was near the entrance and the breakfast room and we were woken with late check in's and then again at 6.00am as breakfast was set out. The only window was to a patio which the staff used as a smoking point. Not very private! We complained and were moved. But this room's walls were so thin that we could hear everything our neighbours did and said. and I mean everything! The bathroom was clean and modern, but it was so small that you could hardly turn around in it. Over all, we got nearly no sleep. It was very dissapointing for the price.

We found the hotel very easily, from the Cavour metro station is 7-8 minutes walk. The staff was very helpful and kind. The room (Tiberio) was nice & clean, better than expected, towels changed every 2 days, but the room was cleaned every day. Bathroom was clean too, even though there were some dirty/wet marks on the ceiling but that didn't bother us. Breakfast was ok - croissant, jam & butter, joghurt, coffe & tea. Location was excellent, min to Collosseum or Piazza Venezia. Overall great stay for great price!

this bed & breakfast was clean and absolutely charming. was had an alcove before entering the actual room in which we placed our luggage, which didn't fit in the bed area. it was far from the train station, but walkable, and standing in front of the hotel, the coloseum was in plain view! major bus lines from Roma Termini are a 2 minute walk as well as the bus to Vatican City. overall, my stay was a pleasure

Everything was just fine, even breakfast was much better than described by guests of other hotels or hostels :) Only problem could be that you might hear every word spoken in the room nearby.. walls seem to be really thin. At least there is practically no noise from outside, from the small street - and still Piazza Venezia as well as the Collosseum are really nearby. :) All in all, we were really happy with Anfiteatro Flavio!

Located in the heart of ROME, this nice B&B is within walking distance to the Coliseum, actually, you can see it at the end of the street. Walking down the Via de Serpenti towards Via Cavour, you will find anything you need, from little convenience stores, internet cafes, clothing, restaurantes, etc. If you turn left on Via de Cavour, you are a couple of blocks away from the Cavour blue line subway. THe hotel is cute, but it is not the cleanest of them all. We stayed at the Claudio room, which has a street view. It is not noisy if the windows are shut. I may be to picky, but I did notice the curtains had not been washed in some time, and the bathroom had a fowel oder some times, although it was not that bad. I liked to size of the shower stall. I would recommend bringing your own towels. Breakfast consists of bread, coffee, juice, and yogurt, and you can ask for other drinks such as capuccinos or hot chocolate. The elevator is very small and only 2 slim people fit with no extras such as luggage. I really liked the location, and being able to walk everywhere without a problem was very convenient. I stayed in this property from Nov 20 to Nov 24, 2006.

A very practically located hotel with friendly staff. Save for some practical glitches (warm water disappeared for one morning, broken halogen light bulbs remained unchanged) our stay was very pleasant. The breakfast was very Italian (a cup of coffee etc. and a bun), but that could be compensated later in the day as there are a lot of nice restaurants on Via dei Serpentini and nearby streets.

We were a bit disappointed with this hotel. Based on the pictures and reviews we were anticipating a nice place to relax after long days of sight seeing. We booked two rooms, a triple and a quad and the additional beds the placed in the room made it very difficult to walk around the room. The location is the only saving grace, as it is very close to the Colosseum and somewhat close to the metro and bus stop. The staff was polite but indifferent to us. There is an elevator, which can only fit two people and most of the rooms are on the third or fourth floor. As noted in other reviews, our bathroom gave off a very strong septic smell. Overall, if you get a great deal on this place go for it, but don't spend a lot as there are a lot of great options in this city.

We had two rooms. One of them (1st floor), called Caligola, had a foul odor, in the bathroom, that seemed to be due to failure to clean a drain in the floor, underneath a drain cover. The other room (Galba) was fine. There was no wireless internet. Aside and apart from the odor in the bathroom, it was probably a reasonable value, and quite convenient to the Collesium area.

A superb centrally located hotel which I would recommend to anybody wishing to visit Rome - it literally is just 5-10 mins walk from the Colosseum and about 10-15mins the other way to Trevi Fountain. The staff could not have been more helpful - we were departing early one morning for a tour and, even though it had only just been delivered, we were delighted to be offered breakfast.

The Hotel was great!!! I would definitely recommend to other travelers. When we first approached the hotel, the room that we reserved was not ready, so the front desk gave us a suite for the night at regular rate. Beyond that, the service was great and provided tips on where to go and what to see at low cost.

We arrived via train from Bologna, the hotel is within easy walking distance. There is no name on the door, and the numbers were obscured by the neighboring buildings big beatiful windowboxes. The rooms are nicely sized, although my brother's room off the lobby was very noisy (he could hear everything said in the lobby). We also had arrived during renovations, and the new breakfast room is very nice and airy. The beds were a little hard, but right down the street, visible from the front rooms' windows is the Coloseum!! and across the street is Il Gelatone, which has the best limoncello ice ever!! This hotel is in a real neighborhood, with lots of shops around, great feeling for living in Rome.

Nice simple hotel with a competent staff. The rooms are small, but ok. It seems that the walls are VERY thin though. You can hear everything going on next door....A young teenager watching MTV all night, for exampel. Breakfast was simpel and the orangejuice horribel, probably made of some kind of powder. The fotos on the webside are false! The small plaza is not situated outside the hotel door, but 300 meters from the hotel, and the fotos of the rooms do not correspond reality a 100 %. Overall the hotel was acceptabel though. Very central and nice surroundings.

Hotel is ideally situated, within sight (and 6 minutes walk) of the Colosseum. Close to metro and bus routes so great for getting about. Situated in a relatively quiet street; the photograph is of a fountain and attractive building futher down the street. The name of the hotel is not displayed outside, so we had difficulty finding it - it was fortunate that we had the street number with us. The first room we were given was small and dark and was off the breakfast room.recpetion area so was a little noisy. However we were moved to the second floor after the first night and that room was fine. Large, with excellent facilities. The little kitchenette was useful, although the water and waste were not connected. There was no equipmeny with it so we had to buy a pan so we could make drinks. An easy chair in the room would have been nice. A good place to stay at a reasonable price within reach of most places of interest. Friendly and helpful staff. No problem paying with Visa.

The triple room was tiny and we were moved to another - less tiny but still tiny. 2 floors higher and the lift wasbroken for most of thestay. Good location a 5 min walk from Colosseum(although you would be struggling to find hotel initially!), welcoming, friendly staff but very expensive for what we got, i.e. TINY room and bathroom, sold as a room for 2 adults/2 children but we could not all move at same time! However, it was very clean. Breakfast was in small, fairly dark lobby area and very basic, ie. fresh roll (lovely) then pre-packed croissant and jams etc. Our room was back facing so very quiet fortunately.
