I think it was reasonable accomodation for the price. The "welcoming' staff could be more friendly but after all the room was very clean. It was very closed to the centre just the surroundings of the hotel wasnt the best.

terrible hotel location, staff didnt speak English and you can hear everything what is happening in the other rooms, on the corridor, there is trams depot and you could hear them coming back each night at 5am for an hour!!!!! awful place for young couple, family stay etc, not recommended

Not exactly in the best location if looking to visit famous sites of Rome. Not a tourist location and is a 10 minute tram ride from Termini which is already a shady part of town. Fairly expensive when matched up with service and location. TV in room did not work and curtains barely covered the windows. One bed had a burn/tear through the middle. Service is neutral - check in/out desk is so high that it's difficult to interact with reception. A good thing was the ease in checking in and out and across the street from a tram stop.

To find more fast the H. Amico you must travel with tram 5 or 14 from Termini and to stop at third (3) station from Porta Maggiore. Looking at left side you will see "Hotel". Amico is located at 7-th floor of this building. Good luck !

The Amico was definately worth the money, but you get what you pay for. Some of the staff spoke English (Erica), but they were all as helpful as they could be. The hotel is located on the 7th floor of an apartment building, and there's not much sineage out front, so it was a challenge to find. We had to ask some of the other businesees, and two of them didn't know where the hotel was! It's in a mostly muslim and african section of Rome. But everyone we met were nice. The bank across the street (San Paulo) was a great place to get our money changed - ask for Fabio! The floors and walls inside the hotel are "hard" - no carpeting, so sound from the lobby area travels through. But it was clean. Fresh towels and soaps each day. Erica at the desk answered all of our questions and was quite nice. And the trams were easy to catch and get around on. It wasn;t a four star hotel, but we've stayed at much worse (even in Times Square). A positive experience overall!

Too far from nearest metro station, and if you are not enough familiar with Rome transport system, it is too hard to get there, especially in the evening! The room where we stayed was clean and large enough but too noisy because of a tram park close to hotel. One of advantages was a large number of cheap food stores and internet points in hotel surroundings working until 12.00PM

the hotel is not near the atractions, but by bus it is 10 minutes away(bus stop across the road). the place is for people that are used to traveling and what to save around 40Eu per day. the staff is very helpful

It would have helped had we known how very far the hotel was from Termini (it looked quite close on the map provided!) It would also have helped to have been given a map of where to get the tram as they were good, just very hard to find the stop if you didn't know where to look. We probably wasted 3 hours of our one afternoon in Rome going to the hotel because we were given the impression it was nearby! It was also in quite a dodgy looking area, I'm glad I wasn't going there alone!

This hotel was the only available in Roma for the WE ... and also the cheapest ! The reason is probably that even if it is not expensive, the price is too high in comparison with the quality of the service provided ! No breakfast, no air conditioning, awful area, far from the centre. And because the hotel overlooks an 8lane expressway and a railway track, rooms are very very noisy. Anyway you won't be able to sleep in the bed because they are battered ! Finally, move along now, there is nothing to see !! Fortunately Roma is a beautiful city and it was a very nice WE however

at a first glance things were discouraging (the distance between the first Metro station and the hotel is about 20 minutes by walk), all was somewhat suspicious and poorly professional but i had to admit that everything went fine, quiet was almost good as room cleanliness at last it's what you expect: an economic class hotel

Basic accommodation, with good standard of cleanliness and excellent value for money! Ideal for someone who is out sightseeing all day. We were very happy with the Amico.

Concerning quietness: rooms are near the service desk where there was a lot of loudly talking during late evening and early morning. Which we considdered as disturbing. Second the hotel lies at a very busy and chaotic traffic point which causes a lot of noise even in the rooms at the rear side of the hotel a lot of noise is coming from a large (nightly)tram gathering station. Location: hotel is difficult to find. We had to ask several times in the tram where the stop Piazale Prenestino was and the name of the hotel was difficult to find after we got off the tram.

Me parece muy incómodo llegar al hotel, tocar el timbre y decir mi apellido para que me dejen entrar, ya que el area está circundada de gente rara. La ventaja es que hay un tranvía que lleva desde la estación al hotel en aprox. 10 min.

The hotel was good and so was the location. It's not difficult to find it, as other reviwers said. The person who was during the day, didn't speak English... that was quite dificult. They have rooms without bathroom, but they weren't available at the web site.

The hotel was in a bad area of Rome. It was not within walking distance of anything. The room was filthy and I did not think my children were safe in it. The traffic noise was very loud all night. The bathroom was covered with mold and mildew. We checked out early due to the condition and location of the hotel. Not a friendly place as the name led on.

This place stank...literally. The whole place was saturated with cigarette smoke. The staff was surly and uncooperative, the location is over a noisy street in the middle of a slum twenty minutes by tram from anywhere, you have to beg for air conditioning or television.

Thought it was close to Train station but a cab was necessary. The light was out in the bathroom. Certain people working desk can't speak english. Actually ended up paying less than the internet quote which was refreshing. Bus stop is across the street which is nice, but nothing is within walking distance. It is bare-bones staying but it does the trick.

There was a huge difference between our two triple rooms. One of them could fit into other's bathroom, however that bathroom had a considerable large window - the smaller room had a tiny one near the ceiling. All in all it was acceptable for a three night stay. Please note: you should answer the doorbell (intercom) even if you don't hear because of the traffic.

The hotel is not so close to the old center of Rome, as it may appear from the map provided on its web page. It is situated at the last floor of a block of flats, so it isn't very easy-to-find. It doesn't have a parking lot so you have to leave your car in one of the streets close to the hotel.

If we were staying in rome longer, we would have found another place to stay. The rooms are dirty and the neighborhood is not so great. The only good thing is the restaurant up the street.

The exact location is not terribly easy to find, even when coming by taxi (whose driver tried to rip us off mercilessly). The lift is tiny, barely able to accommodate 2 people with light luggage. Reception is also tiny, so the room was a pleasant surprise - quite spacious with plenty of cupboard space and clean, with tiled floor. Small but adequate bathroom with a shower. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful, with good English and the price quoted was the price charged. A pleasant, if impersonal, hotel, nice for a weekend stay.

Generally an ok place to stay. the rooms were clean and the staff were ok. The hotel was a long way from the centre of Rome. (This is not the impression given in the advert) and certainly not in walking distance from the main line station!! On arrival at the hotel after a very long walk from the termini, the hotel lift was stuck at the top, because someone had not shut the lift gates. The hotel itself is situated on the 7th floor of the building, in a quite industrialised area of the city, although there is good access to a bus route into the centre of Rome.

This hotel was of an excellent standard considering the very low price. The man running it could not have been more friendly or helpful, although he spoke very little English so visitors should be prepared to try to speak Italian or learn to communicate through gestures! The room was sparsely decorated but clean and comfortable and with a good shower in the en suite bathroom. The hotel is right next to a tram stop from where fairly frequent trams run to the main train station. Breakfast is not provided, but there is a shop over the road where you can get a cappucino and a croissant for €1 ! Overall I would say that this hotel offers excellent value for money.

Amico is a nice very small hotel in the 6th and 7th floor of a house. There is no service, only a very clean, quite large room, with WC and Shower, TV, Telefon and some good beds. There is no breakfast and you have to be at hotel not too long after midnight. The area is a somewhat noisy (cars and scooters), but thats normal in Rome.
