For the money, Hotel Alius was a good deal. The location is excellent -- on a major street, easy to walk to the colloseum and other historic places, easy to get to from the train station, close to a metro station. The room was small, but clean and we only needed the room to sleep. The room was quiet with airconditioning and comfortable to sleep. They do not give clean towels every day. We arrived at 11:00 am after almost 24 hours with no sleep and sweaty and dirty. The rule is we could not get into our room until 1:30 and even if we paid extra, we could not get in earlier. I was very disapointed by this, but otherwise, we were satisfied and would recommend it for the price.

A clean and very simple hotel. Excellent location with walking distance to all major tourist attractions as well as price per quality ratio. Naturally for this price you cannot expect everything so this clearly is a budget alternative. The towels could have been changed more often and the bathroom could have been more clean, hence the low score on that. Nonetheless, the breakfast was sufficient and the staff very helpful. Extra points for the safety deposit box in the room.

A tripple room in april for three nights inc breakfast over the weekend for 119€ a night was a real bargaign. Facilities are clean and the breakfast is better than Italian standard. Staff is very helpful and nice. Location is awesome in a good building. Only glitch was to be able to hear the next rooms bathroom ocassionally. Would stay there again.

The hotel was overbooked. The worst breakfast we have ever had. Rooms are OK. We will come back to Rome but not to this hotel.

It's a risk if you go there. As soon as we arrived at Alius Hotel, this after climbing 3 stairs with our luggages(elevator reserved, key needed)we were told we were rebooked...! I lost it! Of course, the reason given is a lie(I was told my bathtub was having a problem, told her I didn't need a bathtub, shower was enough). What they do is oversell, and correct situations as they happen. After 15-20 minutes of frustrations, we were rebooked(had no choice) at Salustio hotel, 10 minutes from this one. To make a long story short, Don,T think that there is air condiditioning, cause it's a joke. The shower is a joke as well. Impossible to shower your hair, they're not enought water. Almost everybody at front desk couldn't care less(only one was very nice, a very nice indian man who sincerely tryed to help us). Pictures of front desk and breakfast place aren't close to reality. In conclusion, one full day of total frustrations, and thanks to this one person, who managed to do some things for us. The rest is really below average. Worst hotel ever in my lif, and I travel on a regular basis. Try somewhere else.

We arrived at The Alius Hotel at 19.00pm and was welcomed with a smile. The hotel is not viewable from the street as it is in a building that have various other companys in it. The entrance was poorly directed. The rooms were clean although there was a slight sewerage smell from the bathroom. We just kept the extraction fan on all the time and this seemed to conquer the problem. Breakfast in the hotel was very limited, coissants, toast and yoghurts were the only things available. You do not have the option of have any meals at this hotel. This is ok as restaurants are plentiful in Rome. The location was good and you could walk to the Metro in less than 5 mins. All round we can say that for the price and location of the hotel, this place is excellent for a no frills stay. If its just for somewhere to rest your head for the night, this is the place.

The reservation provided the wrong hotel address which caused delays in getting settled and caused scheduleing problems. In addition, the hotel would not accept our American Express as payment and forced us to use another payment method. The water faucet in the hotel was damaged and the staff didn't care and provided excuses as to why they could not get it fixed in time.

Nice location, close to metro stops, train station and easy to get to main tourist spots... we wish the staff had more knowledge of tours and activities in Rome... also only one of the staff members spoke english...

This hotel has some good things going for it - the location is pretty good and some of the staff tried hard e.g.they did move us to a slightly larger room - without us asking, which showed some consideration. BUT various things were not good: the shutters did not work, one curtain was not up, the floor was never cleaned, the towels were not changed, we had to ask for more toilet paper as this was not checked and the breakfast was dismal. They asked us to pay on the evening before we checked out and we did not understand and they were not very pleasant about this in the morning! Compared to other hotels booked with Venere.com on this trip - this was a disappointment. I would not stay again...but the location was central and easy to find!

Siamo stati 4 giorni, eravamo in tre.

We did not stay in Alius Hotel due to problems with Air Conditioning but were move to another Better Class Hotel in a different area. Our Intial thoughts were that we should have been informed of the change before we arrived but in the end we stayed in a better room and it was in a quieter area so we were happy with the change

Small, but clean room. Lovely bathroom. A little hard to find as the only indication was the small name listed next to the buzzer. But we were early and our room was ready and WELL air conditioned! The hotel was walking distance to many tourist sites and quite close to Roma Termini train station.

Good location as we walked from Termini station. Breakfast was very disappointing, the coffee machine wasn't working, the fruit juice wasn't chilled and the packet croissants were awful.

Clean room, spacious by european standards, located in a safe area, minutes from the metro. we could walk to the colisium, trevi fountain, shopping, etc. vatican was 10-15 minutes away by metro. we met friends staying at the virginia hotel (on venere) for dinner in their neighborhood, and found more eateries down there. we dragged our suitcases up four floors to check in, then were given the key to the small elevator outside in the corridor near the hotel. next time, i'll check in, get key, then use the small lift for the suitcases! pleasant staff, spoke some english, were helpful. breakfast was just ok--packaged croissants.

No phone in room, small breakfast, even smaller beds. however, we had no problems with the hotel at all, and i would recommend it to anyone whose budget this hotel falls into, as touring rome from here was fairly simple.

The hotel lacates in a big building and there was no indication for the hotel in front of the building except for the call button beside the door of the property. So we weren't sure how to reach to the reception. But the location is very convenient for sightseeing as well as restaurants, and the hotel staff members were very friendly and kind. Breakfast was a little disappointed (Juice, coffee, croissant, yogurt and cookie), but it is the center of Rome, I can't complain. Our room had 1 double bed and 1 single bed. (Family room? Were we lucky?) Very quiet. Old but clean. I suggest this hotel, if I am asked as one of the options in Roma.

Alius is close to Metro and is in walking distance to Termini Station. The hotel is on the 3rd floor and you will need a key to open the elevator door, so you will need to ring them first so they can pick you up when you check in. The hotel is small but the double-bed room is quite spacious. We were quite satisfied with it. Even though the staff is not fluent in English, Nadia was willing to help and communicate. The only drawback is that they tried not to accept credit card and saying the machine was not working. In the sorrounding, there are many hotels available, so perhaps can look around and decide, but I will still recommand Alius to others, since this is the only one I had stayed in Rome.

The hotel was exactly as we had hoped it would be. Nice location, easy to walk to most major attractions, good restaurants nearby and in walking distance of the train station. Staff were friendly and helpful and security was good. Breakfast was average but it filled a hole. Would happily stay at the Alius again.

It was an excellent stay. the reception staff were so friendly and told us of their favorite restaurants and let me use their computer to send an email. location was more central than originally thought, with only a 10 min brisk walk to the coliseum. Will definaly come back to Rome!
