Good hotel, very well located in Rome. Just few steps from San Pietro and Castel Sant'Angelo. Perfect for a few days holiday in Rome. Perfect for tursim and for going and visit the main attractions of the city. The room was simple furnished but clean, with an spacious bathroom. Personnel very kind and serviceable.

It's not in the flashy parts of Rome, but it was very clean. Two streets away, there were plenty of restaurants, cafes and gelato places. We had the best gelato near this hotel. As you come out, go right, turn right at the supermarket and go two blocks. Super good gelato. We walked so much all over the city that by the time we went back to the hotel we were exhausted and found it to be the perfect place to sleep, away from the noisy streets. The room has shades that make it completely dark for a perfect restful night. Internet was not always good, but we didn't go to Rome to stay online and when we needed the hotel was very helpful and made restaurant reservations and taxi reservations for us. It's walking distance from the Vatican City. We traveled with two kids under 6 and the size of the room, albeit a little too small was ok. Americans are used to large hotel rooms, but I've traveled a lot and for an European hotel room, this was adequate. I was grateful they had room for four people -- it isn't always easy to find at a reasonable price.

Close and easy for public transport during daytime. Some problems with trying to catch public transport later in evening. Our room was kept clean & well maintained. Noisy street traffic below in evenings which was lessened by closing windows. Good cafe across road but we missed being able to have cups of tea. Communal area (solarium) on our floor was pleasant and handy. Entrance to hotel on mezzanine level with no lift access, was awkward with luggage.

We have stayed here for four nights in end of march. The hotel location for the Vatican is more than good. The St.Peter's square is about 5 minutes walk. The bus n. 40's stop is just around the corner, so you can also reach the other part of the downtown easily and quickly. Our room was on the 4th floor close to the roof terrace. The room was spacious (especially compared to other hotel rooms in Rome) The bathroom was clean and well equipped. The towels were changed and the room was cleaned every day. The bed was comfortable, if you like the hard mattress, you'll love it. About the noise: If you go to Rome you must accept that streets are almost always noisy. But if you close the window and the automatic roll-down shutters, the noise is more tolerable. Do not expect perfect silence. If you need this, try to choose another town or maybe another country. The guys at the front desk were nice, very helpful and friendly. (esp. Fabio) On Saturday morning, when we checked out, one of them warned us about the time change. I would recommend this hotel.

We had only one big problem with the Hotel Adriatic. Our three-night stay ended on a Saturday night with a time change (Europe is apparently on a different schedule than the U.S.), and no one at the front desk bothered to mention this to us, even though we were at the desk every day at least twice. The concierge didn't even mention this on the Sunday morning when we checked out for the airport. I can't tell you what kind of stress it put us through when we finally noticed (on the way to the shuttle) that the clocks around the city were an hour ahead of ours. Until that happened, we were quite satisfied. The room was fine; the bathroom was clean; the staff was pleasant (if thoughtless on this terribly important matter); the location was convenient to the airport shuttle, the Metro, and St. Peter's; and the coffee shop across the street was great. The dark chocolate gelato about two blocks away on Via Crescenzio was the best thing we've ever tasted. The roof terrace would have been nice without the cigarette smoke, but we didn't have time for lounging anyway. We had a streetside room, and in spite of closed windows and the automatic roll-down shutters, it was loud at night. If it had been any warmer (we stayed in March) the 10 euros for A/C would have been well worth it. We are heavy sleepers and were exhausted after our days in Rome so the noise didn't bother us much, but we couldn't have slept with windows open. Maybe all their other guests were regularly reading newspapers or watching TV news and we were the only ones who needed to be told about the time? Or everyone else had cell phones that constantly updated the time? (We opted to skip the expense and figured we could survive a week unwired!) Anyway, the small courtesy of sharing the time would have made all the difference in our impression. Once we get over the sense of betrayal, we might even stay there again. It's probably an OK choice for heavy sleepers and people with cell phones.
