Welcoming staff and beautiful hotel. Near Piazza Venezia and Boca della veritá (just in the front corner!). Excelent room and restaurant on the roof top where we could enjoy the view and the sunset in Rome.

I've returned to this cool, clean, efficient hotel because of its excellent staff and service, good breakfasts, convenient location for the 'sights' and choice of buses and taxis outside the door to everywhere important. Staff speak excellent English. The rooftop restaurant and bar has a fabulous view and is good value if you order simple things - but tastier food is available for less money in the wide choice of restaurants close by. The convenient and inexpensive atrium cafe is not open till summer.

Enjoyed our stay. room was a bit tight but clean, AC very good as was the bathroom. great location for seeing Rome. Near the Forum and can walk to areas across the Tiber or into downtown. Wireless internet was ok. Had to get a card every night which was a hassle and could only be used on one computer at a time. the restaurant was inconsistent food wise and expensive. appetizers very good, main courses so-so. Service was slow. Sandra the conceirge was great as was the AM bellman who turned the lights on in the gym early on the day of our departure. would stay here again.

My best friend and I were traveling together. The best thing about this hotel is its location and its employees. Right near the ruins and the Colosseum and also Trastevere where everything is happening. The staff at this hotel was wonderful and helpful. The rooms were clean but small for the price. Breakfast was included and that was pretty good also. There really weren't any amenities. The TV barely worked the Turkish Bath area is really just a sauna that smelled moldy. Overall, our stay was decent but I just wish we hadn't paid so much. The day before we stayed at a hotel further away which was less but offered a lot more.

We never saw the downstairs bar open and inviting--this might be due to the timing of our visits. We waited for over 30 minutes one evening in the updtairs lounge when it was not at all busy and after a server told us the area was open and to sit anywhere, but neither of the servers offered any service.

Very nice surprise for Rome - modern, efficient hotel with style and not run by the usual grumpy old men you find in some Roman hotels. Location excellent though a bit noisy. Recommend 5th floor rooms as they have balconies. Value OK for Rome, though not cheap. Excellent service

We cannot speak highly enough about this hotel. The postion is fantastic - just around the corner from the major sites. The service was extremely good with quick, cheerful responses. We managed to get an upgrade on a last-minute deal and we had a lovely room, with a balcony and an amazing view. It is not a cheap hotel, but you can make it one of the special stays on your holiday. The bed was excellent, as were the room facilities and internet connection.

I went to Rome with my boyfriend for a romantic weekend to celebrate my birthday. We were surprised with a birthday cake at the room at our arrival, a very nice touch. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious yet it was a bit noisy at night as we had a room facing the main street. The only thing really, really bad was breakfast time because they have few tables for the number of rooms and there were times when 2 or 3 couples had to wait some time for a table, something not expected in a 4 star hotel, charging the prices they do. Be carefull with a blond waitress at breakfast, she can be very rude. Overall we had a great time and we would return to this hotel but we thought it was a bit over priced.

This hotel is a real find. Its clean, quiet, modern, serves good food and is on busy bus routes to everywhere in Rome. Its not in the shopping district, but its close to many tourist sights and to Trastevere which is full of bars and restaurants. Concierge recommended excellent places to eat. Highly recommended.

We stayed 4 nights at the Fortyseven. The location is great, you can reach all of Rome by foot, even the Vaticane. The people were very friendly, the breakfast was rich and fresh. Of course, with a lot of traffic around the house, is was not exactly quiet, but you shouldn't expect that anywhere in Rome. We would definitely go there again.

Not only did the hotel not tell me about the taxi strike that was going on during my visit - all the directions they gave me to get to the hotel via bus, were so wrong I ended up getting lost. Also - they promised a private car was available for use while we were there just for an overnight stay - and they only came thru for us when my fiance went to the front desk and threatened them. The conceirge promised a car and then when I called down to see if they were there to pick us up, was informed no car now. Completely incompetent when it came to dealing with the taxi strike and getting someone around. Felt like I was not important and that there own personal priorities outweighed my simple one of how to get around. Especially when you are paying $300 a night - outrageous and would not happen int the United States.

The Forty Seven is near the Rome ruins in a busy part of town. Location is great if you are use to heavy city traffic and subsequent noise. We walked to all the sites from this location (we are avid walkers). It is a couple blocks from the Tiber River as well. Front desk as well as housekeeping employees were great and they upgraded us to a suite-type room upon our return night after going to Florence and Venice. Breakfasts were outstanding in terms of choice and quality. We will go here again.

This is an absolutely fantastic hotel. Gorgeous rooms, very chic with huge bathrooms (so rare in Rome) and wooden floors and gigantic beds. The staff could not have been more helpful, and its location was perfect for sight seeing, and eating out. We would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to everyone.

This hotel is modern but personal. After long days walking and touring, it was a pleasure to come back to this hotel: it was welcoming, easy to be in, comfortable. The staff is excellent, ready to help or answer any question. I'd gladly go back on my next trip, in fact, it would be my first choice.

This is a hip, modern hotel in a good location, close to the Forum and an easy walk to Trastevere. 47 has spacious, comfortable rooms and some of the nicest bathrooms I've found in any Italian hotel. I had to leave at 4am to catch an early flight so I can not comment on the breakfast. The rooftop bar, however, is great. Yes, the drinks are expensive, but given the view and the setting, it was well worth it. While my room got only a bit of noise from traffic on the Lungotevere, there seemed to be quite a few other guests up and making noise for most of the night. When in Rome...

We were really pleased with this hotel and found the staff to be especially nice and helpful. The rate for Rome in August seemed very good. The room was very modern. The only small gripe was that the AC was noisy at night. It's quite a small hotel, which adds to the good atmosphere. Breakfast was very nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I chose this hotel because it has in the room internet access which worked out well (an extra cost). The location is around the corner from the Forum and Colosium but a bit off the beaten path to the nice shops. However the service was EXCELLENT – the staff bends over backwards to be helpful. Other notables were the breakfast buffet and roof top bar and dining – fantastic views .Be forwarded bar and food prices are expensive. My daughter and I ordered a gin and tonic and it came to $24!

I booked Hotel Fortyseven for our 20th.wedding anniversary. My wife and I had not been to Rome before so I wanted a special hotel to mark the occasion. Hotel Fortyseven was superb. It has a great location (close to the Colosseum)and the quality and cleanliness of the hotel is as good as any which I have stayed in. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help. If you want a top class hotel in Rome then Hotel Fortyseven is definitely the place to stay !

I absolutely loved the 47. The staff was great, the breakfast was superior, the rooms are high quality and have nice amenties, like US power outlets. I love the location, but if you are planning to spend alot of time near the Piazza d Spagna or Vatica, it is a fair walk from 47. The courtyard and the lobby are terriic, I soent several hours looking through their books and having a glass of wine in the lobby area. Overall this is a terrific hotel.

Fabulous place to stay - slightly mis-lead / mis-understood that the roof bar was not open yet and there was no one to greet us as we entered the hotel, otherwise the hotel was beautiful, the rooms exceptionally clean and spacious and the location couldn't have been better (fyi, it is on a busy street and can be a bit difficult to cross).

We were greeted warmly and treated promptly, courteously, and graciously. Location was superb, as we walked everywhere and had no difficulties. Breakfast was excellent. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful, especially when we inquired about getting to airport on day of our departure. We truly enjoyed our stay at FortySeven.
