About BW Hotel Artdeco

hotel front view Hotel BW Hotel Artdeco hotel front view The BW Hotel Artdeco is centrally located in Rome, near the famous gateway of Porta Pia, the Diocletian Thermal Baths, the Santa Maria degli Angeli Basilica, and the Termini railway station.

Connections to the historic centre and the most stylish shopping areas are optimal: the Castro Pretorio underground station is 200 metres from the hotel and many stops of the main city bus lines are close-by.

The property is a late 19th century building, combining Art Déco style and modern amenities. The interior decoration, a mix of original pieces and perfect reproductions of Art Déco lamps, appliques, moquettes, paintings and tapestries, reveals the intent of dragging guests into the fascinating era of the early 20th century.

The hotel offers a small meeting room, a Wi-Fi Internet Point, a bar and a restaurant.

We had a fantastic stay at BW Art Deco!! They were very welcoming, the breakfast was very decent for a buffet, the room was beautiful, and the location clean and safe. and it was cheaper than another place down the road we stayed which was only HALF as nice!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

That was my first time in Roma and first time at Hotel BW Artdeco. Overall, the room was ok but the shower was a little bit "rustic" to say the least and the breakfast wasn't varied enough being the same everyday and of poor quality.

Mi aspettavo una camera un po' più grande per un 4 stelle ma tutto sommato non era male. Wireless praticamente inesistente e a pagamento (telecom). Bene per l'idromassaggio in camera :-) Colazione ottima

We stayed at BWArtDeco for 4 days in early Oct./07. Hotel is very conveniently located to all major attractions via metro with a station within 5 minutes walk. Neighbourhood streets are quiet pretty much throughout the day with many reasonably priced resturants within walking distance. The buffet breakfast at the hotel was modest but adequate. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was more spacious than we expected given the location in the city center. Bathroom was quite large and spotlessly clean as was the room with the exception of the carpet which was desperately in need of cleaning attention. Overall we were quite pleased with this hotel for a short stay. We would be inclined to look elsewhere in the event of a longer stay simply because, when you return to the hotel at the end a day of touring, there are no options for relaxation outside of your room which is, of necessity, furnished only with a bed, a desk and a desk chair.

While one probably has nothing to complain about given the quality - price ratio of hotel rooms in Rome (and much of Continental Europe) I must say that my single room at Art Deco was rather small (perhaps that is what you get for Euro 120, B and B). I have indeed been to bigger rooms - in this I include school and college rooms I lived in - rather than 5 star hotels. On the whole, the hotel is not bad (and double & triple rooms are adequately sized from what I could see from my sneak peaks at cleaning time). It is clean, the breakfast is OK and the staff are, on the whole, decent. Also, the street the hotel is in is very quiet and safe as embassies and police abound. The location is a bit of a trek from the 'epicentre' of Rome (15-20 minutes) but the proliferation of busses/ taxis should make up for this for those who don’t wish to walk too much. For those who wish to see the famous Bernini and Boromini churches, the location is perfect – the majority of the most famous churches being ‘down the road’ from the hotel. People going there in April and even possibly May, may find it that the air conditioning is not on, especially in April. This month is still considered as cold by the Romans (not a hotel lie for I’ve seen many Italians dressed as one would dress in January in London) and so there is heating but no air conditioning. Overall impression is that in Rome, really, there isn’t much choice – either this, the very cheap places of , possibly, dubious nature or Euro 250/300 + (semi) luxury hotels in the ‘downtown’ area.
