Hotel Reviews Bettoja Hotel Mediterraneo

USA, Oct 2009
1. Best Location-great for sight-seeing tourists. 2. Had champagne every night @ roof top restaurant. 3. I have stayed in Rome 2 other times, and this was the best location, the best breakfast, and the best room. 4. It was clean, and the beautiful marble bathroom was very spacious and had good water pressure. 5. I liked the entire staff very much.

A very pleasant stay - pleasant room, the staff welcoming without being overwhelming.Very handy for Termini Station. The roof garden restaurant is lovely. Very nice breakfast, but the coffee was awful.

Perfect location (negative: never quite because of the traffic on the street)- if I come back to Rome, I will stay in this hotel again- , friendly and helpful staff, top clean rooms, enough space in the room. Very poor breakfast, need some changes, it was boring. Summarized: perfect staying for a 5 days trip!

This was our second stay at the Mediterraneo. We love the location which is within a few yards of the main termini and within walking distance of the coloseum and forum. The bar/restaurant on the roof is wonderful. We had dinner on the roof our last night and the food (steak table side flamed in a brandy sauce) and the wine were some of the best we have had in Rome. We would definitely stay there again.

This is the 3rd time I was in Rome and the 2nd time I stayed at this hotel. First time it was great I got a room for 3 people large good air conditioner and a balcony with a great view. The 2nd time the cooling system did not work as well and the room was a little noisy. I would still recommend to stay there and I would stay there again.

i stayed at the hotel Bettoja Mediterraneo with 2 friends for 5 nights and we had a great time. the rooms were big enough for three including suitcases. beds were comfy and the service of the rooms was great. the hotel in general was fantastic, it was like staying at a 5 star hotel when you walk into the lobby. the truth is that we thought we had the wrong hotel when we arrived. the location wes good too right near the rome terminal and for the price venere was offering it was a bargin. i definatly reccommend this hotel to anyone and intend on staying here upon my return to rome.

Excellent location next to Termini station and within walking distance to many sites in Rome. Staff very friendly and competent. When ordering, we asked for quiet rooms and we got them (into the patio, not to the street. Good breakfast buffet. Overall very pleasant. I will go there again.

Excellent location to Metro and Central Terminal, around 5 mins walk. Room spacious for three persons and quiet. Clean bed and clean tiolet towels. Reasonable price sharing by three persons including breakfasts. Hotel recommended us a restaurant for lunch but food was bad and expensive. Anyway overall rating for the hotel is good.

Directions from train station a bit misleading. Need to make sure that visitors exit train station at main entrance and not side exit which is next to the Leonardo Express train from the airport. Hotel name not the same as on all the paperwork ie; called Alberto Meditarraneo on building, very confusing!!!! Really enjoyed out stay though, and very easy to get around from the hotel.

Hotel of very high standard; rooms very spacious and very nicely decorated and clean. Staff professional. Minibar prices very reasonable. Highly recommended.

large hotel that perfectly suited our needs. Noise from adjacent bathrooms was quite loud but certainly bareable. Staff was accomodating altho a bit edgy as we found at most hotels in Italy. Excitable bunch

The information on the webside didn`t tell the best options for my request In fact it would have been better to book 5 doubles than doubles and singles mixed, more comfort and space for less cost

Overall our stay at this hotel was very good. It is in a perfect location, next to the main subway station. It was very easy to get around the city as well as to the train station. The front desk staff was outstanding. Offered us suggestions for places to see as well as a wonderful dinner location. We had to stay in a small suite due to there not being regular rooms available. The suite was outstanding. We would probably go with a regular room the next time just for cost purposes. I would stay here again

First we had a room that was tatty and had no bath, we were moved to another room that was very noisy with corridor noise and running water from other rooms. Eventually I moved to a suite that was very nice clean quiet and spacious but at £275 night was expensive for what it was. Location was ok and excellent for the Termini. Breakfast was ok but get there early or it runs out by 10am!

La camera singola è prevedibilmente penalizzata. A parte le ridotte dimensioni della stanza e del letto, sorprende che non ci sia, come per le doppie, chiave magnetica e cassaforte.

this was a poor selection. first room did not have an operating thermostat and it was 85 f in the room even with the window open! room was extremely small. Next room was much nicerbut only had twin beds. Door locks kept failing and spent more time at the desk obtaining new keys than we did in the room. The last morning of our stay, construction started at 6:30 am with jackhammers directly overhead. Staff attitude was " so what" Never again at this place.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 night. It was good location if you come by train as well as visiting any places. The room was clean and break first was excellent comparer to another hotel in Italy. Front staffs were kind. In summer, you may be able to see good view from top roof. I recommend this hotel unless you would like to stay at classic hotel in Italy.

A beautiful foyer, the public areas are superb. the central location means that the traffic noise can be heard, and the rooms are a little small, but it seems churlish to critiscise, having had a very pleasant stay. The staff were first class, and the location was ideal for us, arriving in late at night to the station. I would certainly recommend the hotel to others.

A very nice hotel. The only issue we encountered was the poor service by staff at breakfast.

My husband and I were extremely happy with the hotel. The rooms were spacious, the bathroom very large, the free breakfast was limitless and very good. It is right next to the train station, so once you leave your train you are there within a 5 minute walk. We can't say enough good things about the hotel. We will be staying there on our next trip.

A very convenient hotel to stay in Rome with reasonable price and comfortable room. However, the toilet was out of order even after fixing. The breakfast coffee was very awful for an Italy hotel. The price was a bagain and overall still a nice place to stay and enjoying Rome

This is an extremely convenient location just about a block away from Termini station. You can catch a train from the airport to Termini and it's convenient if you'll be using the bus to get around Rome. The rooms are nice and the breakfast has a good variety to choose from. The staff is overall very helpful. They also provide money exchange which is convenient as well.

I really enjoyed the Mediterraneo. The staff was VERY helpful, they set up all our tours for the city, answered all out questions and spoke english very well. The cleanliness was very nice too, we kept running into the housekeeper trying to clean our room, as we were in and out all day a few of the days. LOL

We were unsure what we were going to, as there was no pictures or up todate reviews on this hotel-what a surprise!Excellent location, spotless clean and friendly staff.Only poor point was that the breakfast was not up to much.Would definitely stay there again next time in Rome

My husband and I stayed for a total of 4 nights. The location was wonderfull. (within walking distance to the train station, the metro, and the center of Rome. The staff was friendly and helpfull. The breakfasts were complete with eggs, cereal, pastries etc. The view from the terrace was spectacular. We both enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.

As a party of 6 people our stay was very good. Staff were professional and helpful. Hotel perfectly situated for sightseeing. Roof garden was a delightful bonus. Buffet breakfast good. If we visited Rome again we would certainly go back to the Bettoja.

The hotel, which is almost the one closest to the Terminal station(less than 1 min. walk), is strongly recommended to those who can afford a 4 star hotel. Breakfast is good and the room is tidy and spacious. One can also choose the sister hotel Atlantico which is just located next to it. Both share the same facilities.

Good location near station and sights. Property quite old. This means the rooms are quite large. But the furnishings have seen better days. Lots of tour groups. Average breakfast. Not that cheap overall. But OK for an overnight or short stay.

Good location to train station. Not great area for restaurants, hence you need to travel toward the centre of the city to get quality food. The hotel is quite pricey (for me), but is an oasis in the middle of a chaotic (train station) area.

I was travelling on my own to visit my son who lives in Rome. The hotel was everything I expected. Unfortunately I felt uncomfortable in the breakfast room. I don't think the staff were used to unaccompanied women. The bar staff were particularly pleasant and helpful, and I was grateful that they made me welcome.

We only stayed for a night at this hotel, but it was generally very good. The staff is helpful; my friend left a shirt in the room and when we got home he wrote them an email and they replied within 20 minutes, offering to send him the shirt by courier (at his expense of course). There's a nice, silver-service restaurant in the hotel in front of this one (D'Azeglio); that hotel is owned by the same chain (Bettoja). The food is excellent; however, we went there at 10pm and they rushed our food and tried to get rid of us as fast as they could! In fact, they brought us a full 4 course menu in less than an hour, and tried to take my friend's plate three times even though he was clearly not finished!

Disappointed roof area was not open. Breakfast a bit disorganised & waiting for food to be replenished. Restaurant very good. Helpful at the desk although recommended a restaurant that tried to rip us off with the charges. But generally acceptable on all other accounts. Would visit again.

For that price I can surely get a first rate three stars that has newer, more spacious rooms (furniture was as old and my grandma, poor soul, and bathroom was tiny and even older...), better breakfast (really sad... not even a croissant or a decent cappuccino!!And we're talking ITALY here!!), better welcoming (arrived at 12, said "return at 2, room still not ready" - yeah, right) , everybody quite relaxed and taking their time while I waited with my suitcase... and ended up washing my hands at the McDonald's round the corner!! "Bettola" in Italian reads veyr much like Bettoja and translates more or less as "dump" - - there you go that's what the hotel is.

The first morning I was awoken by construction work above the room. The employees were not very personable and didn't have any suggestions for good places to eat. It seemed that they were new to the area also. Too expensive for what we got.
