Great location for train access. Good breakfast. Staff were very helpful and the room was fine. The one issue was the heating. We were there in mid winter and we were unable to turn the heat down sufficiently. The only way to stop the room overheating was to open the windows. For security reasons we could only do this when we were in the room and awake as there was access straight into our room from roof outside the window. This was the one issue on which the staff were not very helpful. Otherwise I could not fault the place and would recommend it to others.

Excellent spot for touring the city. 2 Minutes away from the Termini (train station). Closer than I thought it would be. Breeakfast was excellent. Lots of variety and as much as anyone would want. Set us up for the day! Room was clean and very comfortable. The bed was lovely and firm but not toohard to sleep on. All in all a very enjoyable 2 nights stay. No complaints whatsoever.

We were dissapointed by the smallness of room and the public areas being not so "luxurious" or impressive, as one migth hope to see in a hotel of so many stars. And; I find it very strange and misleading that one is required to mark some group I would recommend this hotel to, i.e. that there isn´t an option to mark none, which I would have chosen, not that the hotel wasn´t ok, but far to exspensive for what it really is (especially the smallness of room, just like any other hotel), and also, how to you guys really espect poeple to know how many rooms there are?

GREAT HOTEL AND LOCATION.EXCELLENT BREAKFAST IN LOVELY BREAKFAST ROOM.UNFORTUNATELY PRICE JUMPED TO ALMOST DOUBLE FROM LATE AUGUST TO EARLY SEPTEMBER SO WHEN WE RETURNED THEN FOR 5 NIGHTS WE DECIDED TO LOOK ELSEWHERE.

The room was very quiet which was important for me and also astonishing because of the situation. The bar at the entrance hall was excellent. Only thing I did not like was one day the reseptionist called me when I just arrived from a tireing walk that I have to leve my room for cleaning. The client's need for rest any time of day should be appreciated.

We only needed a room for one night in Rome before starting our cruise. Friends suggested we stay close to the Termini and after researching many sites, I chose the Massimo D'Azeglio and was very happy with the choice. We arrived earlier than check-in and requested an interior room for more quiet as we needed an afternoon nap after the Transatlantic flight - not a problem. The tour desk was helpful as were the staff. Breakfast was better than most. Walking was easy to close by sites like the Coliseum, and restaurants were easy to find. The neighbourhood was clean, even though it is close to the train station. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend the hotel to others, especially if you just need a night or two as its location is great.

It was very close to the Train station and that is why we choose this location as we were travelling back home and needed quick access to the airport. But the location for other Rome attractions is not great, and it is a very busy spot.

This hotel is extremely well situated in Rome. Very easy to get to from Termini, and its very easy to walk down to central Rome. The room a bit too small - but very cosy. A little bit too much noise from the street, you HAVE to close the window all day. As a guest you should make sure to take this into account.

La camera era piccola, il bagno di dimensioni normali. L'unico problema che ho riscontrato è l'isolamento acustico dal corridoio: si sentivano le persone passare e parlare, fin dalle prime ore della mattina.

The hotel is in serious need of renovation. Service is fine when the lobby is not crowded but suffers when tour groups arrive, and they do arrive: this place thrives on mass tourism.

This hotel was excellent. It is only a few minutes from the main railway station - Roma Termini. I chose the location so I could get there easily from the airport for a couple of days in Rome sightseeing before travelling on by train to Perugia. A train goes directly to that station from the airport. It is quick and easy to walk from the station to the hotel with a wheeled suitcase. I advised by email before arriving that I would be there early in the morning and hoped to be able to leave my bags. When I arrived I was told at 9 am that a room was available for me immediately which meant that I could have a shower and get changed after my long flight from NZ, before going out sightseeing. This exceeded my expectations. The room was not huge but I have paid more for smaller rooms in Europe and it was fine for my purposes. The room was very quiet and the shutters allowed it to be kept dark for sleeping which meant that I was able to have a good long night's sleep to counter the jetlag. I woke late after the 1st night's sleep and thought that I might have missed the best of breakfast but there was an excellent range and quantity of good quality food still being set out at 10am. I walked to and from the centre of the city for all my sightseeing. The area seemed quite safe even at night.
United Kingdom, Jun 2007
Hotel is better than the photo's. Our twin room was spacious and comfortable. For the price the hotel was excellent. I could hear / feel the underground but this did not bother us at all and the hotel was generally less noisy than many I have stayed in. Overall excellent.
USA, May 2007
The accommodations were great, nicely upgraded rooms, the restaurant and breakfast were very good. The staff was not the friendliest, I was traveling with my sister, brother-in-law and nephew. We went to dinner at the restaurant and the waiter gave all three copies of the bill to my brother in law, the next morning when we went to breakfast we stepped out of the elevator and a member of their staff was waiting for us wanting a copy of the bill, we told them we would get it for them after we had breakfast, the minute we stepped out of the eating area after breakfast there was a staff member waiting to accompany us to the room to make sure they got a copy of the bill. They made us feel as if we were stealing from them. My brother in law explained to them that the waiter had given him all three copies and that they were making him feel as if we were taking something from them. Then his key would not work, I do believe they blocked the key so we would have to go to the front desk and we were still staying for another night. When I checked into my room I explained that for the first night I was going to be a single, when I checked out they would not change the room rate to a single because I had booked it as a double, which I told them I understood that but they should have discussed this further with me at check in time. Also there was a bottle of water sitting on their complimentary tray in the room and they tried to charge me for it, I explained to them that it was on the complementary tray and I did not take it out of the wet bar.

We had booked three doubles for six sisters traveling together. When we arrived they clearly didn't have three doubles, but but us in six singles on the same floor for the same price. It was fine--not what we had wanted, but fun in its own way. The hotel is very clean and it's right by the train station (but not at all seedy in location or appointment). Only complaint: the coffee at breakfast was truly vile. Ask for an expresso instead.

This hotel was better than described. The rooms are clean and have tv etc no iron was provided but there is an laundry service who will look after you. all staff were very polite and helpful. The breakfast is continental and there is more than enough .It was a 2 min walk fom the termini station and the metro which is great for when going sightseeing...If you are fit then some of the sights ie collesuem, piazza de venezia are a nice walk away...You would need the metro for the vatican, trevi, spanish steps but at €4 for a day it as an excellent service...We went with agroup of other couples as we were attending a wedding in Rome.everybody was happy with the hotel..

We stayed at this hotel because of its location near the train station. While the room was slightly less than we desired, the hotel staff and location made up for any shortcomings. The staff was particularly friendly, especially Gulliano, the bartender. He was cheerful and ready with information about Rome. He suggested restaurants and made us feel at home. We would stay at this hotel again.

Excellent location to walk from the Termini where the airport bus dropped us. Colosseum is easy walking distance, but it can turn into quite a hike into the centre (actually, getting back was the hike!). Not a problem if you're a walker. Good breakfast buffet with vast selection. The 4th floor room overlooked the main road, which was too noisy, even after our late night return from the Charity Jazz Bar. Will make a return visit, but only if room is not facing road.

The location close to the railway station was excellent. Being able to view the city from the sister hotel's rooftop garden across the street was also a plus. In the restaurant, the mixed Antipasti from the cart was outstanding, but the help was a little cold towards a single dinner.

This hotel is 3 minutes walk from the train station, and is perfectly nice. The rooms are fairly standard fare, with a very nice bathroom. This is a "large hotel" style hotel and that means there are lots of people coming and going and large rooms for breakfast, but this place has everything a traveller needs at the end of the day to rest up. The rooms are clean and quiet, the place seems recently refurbished, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. If you do stay here, definitely have a drink at the rooftop bar of the sister hotel across the street. The view from there is stunning. I'd stay here again any time.

Very nice. Cleaning staff were great and even listened out for our baby when he had his morning nap. Cot we had asekd for wasn't there when we arrived but was provided immediately when we askedd. Breakfast was good. No idea why the area is rated poorly - yes its near the station but at no point did we feel it was unpleasant. Hotel was in walking distance of most attratcions and the only time we used transport was to get to the Vatican. Nice bar in the lobby area and very friendly staff. We were sad to leave(!) and I'd definitely stay there again.

This is a four star hotel in Rome. It is close to Roma Termini railway station and the Metro. We walked to the colosseum and Restaurants abound close by. The hotel restaurant is good value as well. The rooftop garden at the Bettoja Mediterranean opposite has a great view of Rome. The staff were happy to organise tours and most spoke fluent english. I originally booked for one night but we stayed for six nights in total after seeing the place. Probably not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for....

Good hotel, convenient to the Termini. Front desk and porter staff are very friendly and helpful. Room and bath were clean, but we could hear the traffic and noise from the street. Breakfast was average although the staff was slow to clean tables. They appeared to need additional help for the breakfast hours.

Ask for a room that does not look out to the streets. plus the door out of the room does not keep the noise away very well. so you may hear those that come home late or get up early.

The common area was nice and the staff helpful. The room and bathroom were extremely small. The breakfast was adequate, but was the least likeable of the hotels we stayed in. We ate one night in their restaurant, and it was excellent. The breakfast rooms are not located in the restaurant. We liked the fact that it was just down the block from the train station. It was a very easy walk, no need for a cab. Also you could catch any bus there.

This hotel was a great stay for the price. We were in Rome 5 nights and it was a perfect location next to the Termini Station. Pro's: Good location, good breakfast, good service, good price (210 E), very close to Termini Station so you can get anywhere fast, room was well cleaned, close to major site also. Con's: Using the hotel internet was expensive (5 Euro for 15 mins). Note to others: At 3:45 am there is a bus that takes you from Termini Station to the Airport. Its little known, even by the locals, and its only 5 Euro's a head. Its well worth it if you need to get to the airport early (we took the night staff was a little by surprise however...).

The hotel is exactly over the tube line, everytime the tube passed, there was a little earthquake (even if we were placed on 5h floor). The hotel needs an urgent refreshment, the breakfast is quite poor. Only if the price is the half I could reccommend the hotel, but I would never stay again there. I am Italian, female, 39 years old. the rooms were large and clean. The room size was larger than average, a fact we very really grateful for, since we were travelling with kids. the breakfast spread was excellent. the location was fantastic - right next to the train station and the bus terminus. and we managed to find reasonably good restaurants nearby, as well. the hotel was also very helpful in providing infant cots. possibly the only grouse we had with the place was that the hotel staff ripped us off on taxi services. word of caution - dont ask the hotel to fix transport for you either from or to the airport or within the city. they quoted us ridiculous rates for a taxi to the vatican. actually taxis in rome are cheap, reliable and an easy way to get around the city, especially with children and their attendant paraphernalia.

The hotel is exactly as shown on the pictures. Strategically placed: 1 minute from the main train and bus station, 10 minutes walking to the coliseum, 5 minutes to the metro, and walking distance to the center (15 to 20 minutes to Fontana di Trevi). Rates are fantastic if you book with time. My reservation was 149€ per night/room (2 persons) and normal rate is 289€. Breakfast buffet is quite good. One detail that indicates quality: is full of japanese people and they don't go to any place. Hotel staff are very nice and happy and they help you a lot. I honestly recommend this hotel if you want to go to Rome. If you simply like noise and people and to be in the center just pay double and go to any hotel near the Fontana di Trevi. Regards

Stayed here as a result of other comments on here and I had an amazing stay. The hotel is very well located a couple blocks from Termini train station. Although the area around Termini is not particularly picturesque, there are many hotels and it is central to all the major attractions and social scene. The hotel has an old world charm and the rooms are confortable with ample storage. An awesome value when you consider the combination of price, accomodation quality, service and location. Would definitely stay here again.

the room was quite spacious and very clean. one computer with free internet in the lobby which was good. breakfast was fantastic. right near the train station so easy for transfers to the airport/metro/buses etc. one thing that would be helpful would be if they had someone to answer the room service phone who spoke both italian and english and if they left menus in the room & the days/times it is available. please note the restaurant is closed on sunday, although when it is open the food is first class. overall a very nice hotel.

Sep 2005 we (two of us, plus two kids of 4 & 9) spent three days at the hotel. We asked for a triple room and we got a quite spacious room (please note we have seen much smaller rooms in the hotel). The rooms were equipped just fine and the bathroom was okay. The wooden tile floor adds good amount of charm to the room, although some could mind the noise it creates. The only bad part of the room was the poor isolation to the nearby room divided only by a door. Another drawback is the relatively high EUR 28 per day garage parking fee. The hotel has a location that is easy-to-find and quite a nice feeling inside, together with a good restaurant. We were quite scared initially from stories of lousy overpriced Rome hotels, but this one proved to be very good value-for-money. I would definitely stay there again.

We had a great experience at this hotel; it was exactly as pictured in the website. The room was slightly small for all of our luggage, but quite bigger than most other hotels we had looked at previously. I was impressed by the overall restoration (especially since I am an interior designer myself) and was certainly happy to find wood floors in the guest rooms. I would also highly recommend the restaurant downstairs, since we had a fabulous lunch and dinner there; the ostrich and swordfish were excellent. The front desk staff were also extremely pleasant and helpful, even in the late night hours. I will warn though, DO NOT take the guided tours offered during your check-in (from Green Line). We took four guided tours with Roman Promenades while staying in Rome and had a great experience, but took a tour with Green Line our last day to Pompeii. What a disaster! The wasted a perfected good day; we spent 2 hours in Pompeii and 11 hours driving around with interpretation in 3 languages and a lunch unfit for a school cafeteria. Stick to the other tour companies like Roman Promenades. But as for the hotel, I would certainly stay there again and recommend it highly.

It was a treat to move here after staying in a less-than adequate place (Relais Vaticano). They were great about me hurriedly dropping off bags early to check in later. Room was large and immaculate, with nice fresh bath. First room was on street but double windows reduced street noise (very noisy if opened however). When a friend unexpectedly joined me, the staff was very accommodating in finding another room - one in back and quieter with window open as it turned out. I thought breakfasts were great - could even have cappuccino in nieu of the less-than-adequate brewed "American" coffee. Nice fresh rolls and cornettos with butter, ham, hard-boiled or scrambled eggs, juices and lovely whole fresh fruits. Perfect start to the day and staff was very good about quickly getting your coffee etc. Free internet was a nice plus too! Location great - safe and close to trains and buses at Roma Termini. The hotel was excellent and very well positioned for transport etc. However some travel books give a poor recommendation for the area (Termini). However we found the access to transport very easy. Enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
