Hôtel Les Esclargies - Rocamadour
Lieu dit Les Esclargies - Rocamadour
877-662-6988Boasting a mellow, sensuous ambiance, a lovely terrace and a large outdoor swimming pool, this refined hotel is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing holiday in a green setting far from any city bustle. To blend with its surroundings, most of the stones and woods used in the construction of the hotel reflect the spirit of the location in keeping with tradition and history.
The Hotel Les Esclargies has a partnership with the nearby Restaurant Du Château, which offers an imaginative cuisine inspired by the colors and flavors of the area.
Rocamadour in February is empty. The hotel was perfect, but we miss a restaurant in the hotel, because there's only one open in the town.

My wife and I chose to stay at this hotel while travelling through southern France because of its location near Rocamadour and the lovely pictures on this site. The property was very beautiful and serene. Everything about our room was delightful and breakfast was very nice. We met other travelers, quite a few of whom were hiking or biking in the area. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Clean, modern accomodation and a good breakfast. Our shower flooded the bathroom floor but at least was attached at the wall.(Disabled room). Our friends had the on-bath shower head. Why don't the French have proper shower stalls like the rest of the world?

Pression of the manager for taking the breakfeast - we would have like different options for the breakfeast and not the only way the manager was offering that is to say a 11 euros buffet and nothing else - by the way the place is a great location

The room was lovely and the price seemed right but 11 euros for a buffet breakfast was too much. There was some cooked food but it was kept hot and not cooked to order, as I would have expected for that price.

Generally good experience. Only major unhappiness was the owner agressively pushing a nearby hotel's dining room which we found overpriced, pretentious, had poor service, and mediocre food.

The hotel is on a pretty site at the edge of the town. It has a large property that is well maintained and surrounded with trees. The rooms and the rest of the facilities are modern and nicely decorated.

Hotel Les Esclargies was a gem! The setting is lovely -- especially for breakfast out doors. (And the breakfast was quite good!) The location is excellent, as you can walk to the ascenseurs that take you down to Rocamadour without having to worry about driving and parking. Our room was pristine -- modern and comfortable and clean but not a bit spartan. Among the nicest things about Les Esclargies are the fact that this beautiful, contemporary-styled hotel is only a few years old and styled with some inspiration by Frank Lloyd Wright to be harmonious with the setting. Best of all is the lovely, friendly, helpful owner of the hotel, who made us very welcome indeed. We'd strongly recommend the hotel to others!

We enjoyed a comfortable stay. The weather was cold, and the rooms were somehow too cold. The owners were very friendly. The location is great.

Double room in a modern hotel with a homely feel.Finding it was the only hassle.Maps given were confusing and we eventually had to stop for directions!!!-lost lots of brownie points from my driver.Loved the old hotels in France but great to experience a bit of modernity especially in this part of France. This is a top hotel and excellent value.Would suit all ages.

About the Hotel: It is a lovely hotel, very comfortable, with all the comodities a traveller need. Located in the city perimeter, but not exactly in the city, less than 200 meters to walk to the city area. about the staff: Is the only hotel (from 6 we stayed) that it was a woman fluent in English. For us it was crucial, since my wife have had an accident and she was hospitalized in the first day, and we have to cancel the first day by phone, the woman was very understanding and she even asked if we have arrangement for the night we have to cancel. On the end they even didn't charged us for the first day. summary: The best hotel to stay when you are visiting the wonderfull Lot Valley. I recommend to stay there and from there to reach all the Hot Spots of the Lot Valley.
