This was a good hotel for the price. It's nothing fancy, but it was clean and the staff were friendly. Only one front desk person spoke English, but he was extremely helpful. The location of the hotel is on a side street in Flamengo. The neighborhood seemed safe enough during the day, but I didn't feel comfortable walking the side street without my husband at night. Although, this is probably the case anywere you go in Rio. It's within a block of the beach, the subway, laundry facilities, and a gym.

Check-out: it is necessary to leave the rooms not later than midday.
