The Olinda Othon Classic was founded in 1949 and has kept all the charm and glamour of the 40's.
The hotel is close to the famous Copacabana beach and also next the downtown area of Rio de Janeiro, as well as many main tourist attractions, such as Corcovado, the Sugar Loaf Mountain, the municipal theater and the botanic garden.
Besides its excellent location, the hotel has many facilities, such as a restaurant, a coffee shop and a bar offering music in the evening.

The Olinda is a beautifully restored hotel in the grand old style. The location is perfect - right across from Copacabana Beach. The lobby of the hotel is gorgeous, and we spent time just sitting there watching the happenings on Copacabana Beach. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

I had a sea-side room, and slept with the window open, listening to the sound of the beach, the waves, the sounds of nightlife below.... fantastic.

Everything was ok with the hotel, except for the fact that they were not aware that we have made reservation via Venere. After a few telephones, the concierge has clarified the situation and we have received the reserved room at the very attractive Venere price.

Be carefull with your credit card on the welcome administrative paper. If they take your credit card number one of them can reproduce your card and get some cash with it !

although I received reservation confirmation from Venere, the hotel was not aware of our arrival. We were lucky as the hotel had availabilities but the experience was not pleasant at all after a 13 hours flight. Hotel is a bit far from ipanema

Check-out: it is necessary to leave the rooms not later than noon.
