Hotel Apa - Rio de Janeiro

Good hotel for the price, but the surrounding makes the place very noisy !

The standard rooms are tiny, but I was able to persuade the desk clerk to upgrade me to a suite. There was a LARGE step up to the bathroom (not very old-person friendly). The elevator was small. The wireless internet worked well. The staff was friendly and helpful. The café de manhā was barely adequate... not much variety.

Stay in Rio de Janeiro for 5 days, nice days, is all ok with the hotel.

Whilst the hotel was centrally located and inexpensive (bearing in mind hotels in rio are totally overpriced and do not offer good value for money), we found the room standard to be very low indeed. the bathroom was unusally small, outdated and dirty. our room was at the end of a corridor that smelt of urine. the staff were very helpful and friendly and were the only reason we did not leave sooner.

The Apa is a nice little hotel. We stayed there 2 nights in Dec. 2008. I would definitely recommend it as comfortable, convenient location, and good value. The man at the desk spoke good English. We had no problems. The elevator is very small, but worked fine. The lobby is comfortable and attractive and we appreciated the coffee available there all day and the free internet access. There was only one computer but I never had to wait very long. The bed was comfortable, and the room simple but clean. Refigerator, TV, and in room safe worked well and were much appreciated. We even had a little balcony. Right across the street was a place with the best mango juice, and 1/2 block away a very nice restaurant where you paid by the weight of your food. We were only 2 blocks from Avenida Atlantica and the beach. Good shopping on the street between the Apa and the beach. We had a late flight out, but they have a baggage room where they kept our stuff safe. They called a cab for us to go to the airport.

The only good thing about this hotel is the price. The cleaning ladies were screaming at 7 o clock in the morning, waking everyone up, and the personal is pretty unfriendly However, the price is way lower that any other hotel in the surroundings, so if you can adapt a bit it can be a good choice

The Hotel overcharged us

Creo que en relación al precio, hay un buen equilibrio precio - beneficio. Habitaciones un poco pequeña, pero con lo necesario que uno necesita por el que precio que está pagando. Muy buena ubicación, cerca del metro y la playa

Decent hotel - staff were friendly, roms were adequate and not too far from beach. Would recommend as a good budget/mid-range hotel.

The worste Hotel in my life, the reception is unkind and very unpolite. A place to forget.
