The staff was wonderful and the hotel beautiful but the bed was very hard. We stayed for three nights and that was one night too much. I could not have stayed for the week.

A lovely little hotel only a short walk from the centre of the old town. Me and my son (age 14) had a wonderful stay in Riga!

We booked a suite, because we were wrongly informed that there were no other rooms available; the suite was very small, run down, and noisy. The staff were not helpful and not friendly. The breakfast room was overcrowded and we had to wait twenty minutes for a table. The price was not worth it at all and we would not recommend this hotel in any way.

In spite of having booked one month ahead no but the worst room was available extremely small, lack of privacy due to stairs in front of the smallest window possible. Staff did nothing to improve this. There are many hotels around offering better rooms at lower prices so no need to book here

We really liked the people at the desk who helped us with everything, and were not only polite, but also open and kind beyond much that we have experienced in impersonal hotels. The atmosphere was small and intimate, an atmosphere that was created purely and simply by the people at the front desk as well as the people at the breakfast service and the bar. We really enjoyed the food at the hotel; the dinner we had in the evening was very good and the menu extensive. We experienced only one minor problem. And I do not know if it is possible to rectify it. The temperature outside the hotel was very high, and we were always very hot when we arrived back at the hotel. Our room temperature was set at 25 degrees (AC). It would have been better for us if the thermometer could have been lowered for a time in order for us to cool off. We enjoyed our stay very much, otherwise, and would recommend the hotel to others. Kjell and Jeanne Eirheim

This is an almost brand new hotel. It has a great location, in Old Town, but near the train station and the center of Old Town. The breakfast was good and the employees of the hotel were very nice and spoke English very well. When i return to Riga I will try to stay here again.

Junior suite was disappointment. It seemed to be just a more spacious normal double room. No jacuzzi, Sauna or rooftop terrace in our Junior Suite :( Otherwise hotel was good.

This hotel is fantastic, location is perfect right in the middle of old town. Rooms have been refurbished and look new and up to date. facilities are great and hotel staff are very friendly and very helpful. The only think was that I didn't have hot water for one night, but given they were still finishing renovations I'm sure this was just a small problem witch was rectified the same day.

My sojourn in Riga was really wonderful also because "Boutique Hotel Viesturs" was a perfect starting point to live the intense life of Riga old town. I went to Riga also to watch and listen to Verdi's La Traviata, and the hotel is just 5 minutes from Riga Opera House. The breakfast was of good quality and abundant. It was a real good surprise and bonus the possibility to connect really free to the wi-fi net of the hotel with my palmtop. So the hotel is really recommendable.

Very comfortable and very nice hotel. Excellent value. Lovely room - no noise despite ground floor room adjacent to alley which passes the hotel. Nice buffet breakfast included in the price - though breakfast room is a bit cramped. All in all a hotel I would highly recommend. Riga old town is gorgeous and this hotel is in the perfect spot to explore it. 2 nights/3 days was just about enough to see all of the sights - which are quite close together. We took the train (20 mins)to the coastal resort of Jurmala, which is quite upmarket with a main street of pleasant restaurants. The beach itself is lovely - quite unspoilt. The (free of charge) occupation museum in Riga is also worth a visit - a sobering reminder of Latvia's past.
