A good hotel at a good location. It is in a refurbushed old apartment house, so that the elevator was added later. As a result it stops between the floors and you have to carry your luggage up or down one flight of stairs. We have asked for and received a quiet, spacious room. The furniture was quite worn. The hotel is at 20 min walking distance from the old city, and it is an enjoyable walk, past splendid (although partially run-down) Art Nouveau buildings. On the way back, a taxi has cost us 2.5 lat. An additional bonus: a free, locked parking. The breakfast is good, but with one drawback: it starts only at 8:00.

Half an hour on foot from the city centre, the trolleybus stop is however in front of the hotel. Quite a large room, with a fridge, sofa and an armchair, but the bathroom was a bit small. Average breakfast. A few shops opened till late in the surroundings.

The receptionist was extremely rude when we arrived listing all possible things we could be fined for (being out late, making a noise etc) so we only stayed one night - and that was only because we had a late flight in. This place was horrendous and if they are sick of the british turning up, being noisy and making a nuisance of themselves then they should refuse bookings from british people. Absolutely shocking and if this was the first time I had used Venere I wouldn't be using you again as it was such a terrible experience. As it is, I used you before with wonderful results so I know this wasn't your fault!
