Hotel Ideon - Rethymno

I stayed here with a friend for one night in June 2011. The location is fabulous, walking distance to everything in Old Town and the beach. Lovely breakfast, nice staff and great room. Only drawbacks were a shower that changed temp (probably because other guests flushed their toilets) and an over-eager toilet (close the lid before flushing). I'm just sad we didn't schedule more time in Rethymno. I'd stay here again.

We stayed at the end of the season and fully expected staff to be disinterested after the long summer season. The staff were polite and friendly and helpful. Breakfast exceeded our expectations

Very nice and high quality hotel. first night our room was not available but we got a suite instead for the same price! It is in a very good position near the port, easy to reach. To recommend

Hotel many used by tourist parties. Perfect situated: very close to harbour, fortress old town.

Great location between the old town and the sea. Clean, spacious rooms, and cheap. Only drawback the thin walls. Internet in the room is 3 Euros per hour (they don't mention the price in the website), but I guess you are not in town to surf the web. Overall, a great choice.

Excellent location, nearby the old city. Wonderful sea view. Only one bad record: the "orange" juice (chemical artificial powdered beverage) at breakfast

Asked for a quiet room and got one at the top floor overlooking the pool in the backyard - very satisfactory. Nice breakfast as well.

The main problem of the hotel is the noise ; from our room we could hear every noise from the voices of young drunk girls trying to find their beds at midnight to the elevator machinery,and the cough of the people next room. And in the breakfast room the music was stupidly loud. The hotel is very well located and is comfortable.

Excellent location, good staff, good rate, good rooms, good breakfast. The sound proofing between the rooms (especially between the bathrooms) could be better, but the most penetrating noise came from young ladies talking loudly and late at night on their balcony. Highly recommendable hotel in the most charming town on Crete's north coast.

The hotel is in an excellent area, near the sea and not in the the center of noise. The pool is welcoming. It is easy to walk from the bust station to the hotel, a taxi ride from the bus station is 6 euros. I suggest a room overlooking the pool versus the sea because it is much quieter at night.

Very nice hotel. Excellent location. Short walk to the old town and the Venetian harbor. Close to the beaches. Very easy to find. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very nice hotel in the center of the old town, just facing the see. They also provide complementary parking in a parking lot in front of the hotel. The restaurants in front of the hotel are cheap and the food is awesome.

The only thing we didn't like was that towels weren't changed at all and there were not enough soap and shampoo for 3 nights. Besides, everything was perfect, breakfast, location, parking, etc.
