Hotel Porte Mars - Reims

Welcoming staff; compact, utilitarian but comfortable bedroom and en-suite; enjoyable breakfast. Ideal for a night or short break & good location close to tramway, station, champagne houses & decent restaurants.

Nice and clean hotel with good location.

Just a short walk from the railway station, this hotel was just what we wanted. Handy to places to eat and not far from the central area. Reims is a great city to walk around in too. Breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had a great stay at Porte Mars. The location was excellent, just a short walk across the park to the centre of the old town and the new tram is across the road. The rooms were clean and tidy with nice bathrooms. The staff were very helpful and spoke excellent english. We would stay here again.

We stayed for one night. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was very small, but it had everything we needed. At the moment there are some road works on the square outside, so the view isn't very pretty, but since we stayed during the weekend it didn't bother us. The parking isn't actually in the hotel but across the street in some kind of industrial yard and it's free of charge.

The webpage is misleading in that it suggests that the hotel has its own parking facilities which it does not and only has limited spaces on the road.

Hard to evaluate since there was light rail construction in front of the hotel. The hotels rooms all face the street and were surprisingly quiet. Central to champagne houses and lively downtown center.

THe pictures on the site were probably taken some time ago as the room and en suite we were alocated looked very tired. However, both were clean. The area around the hotel is very run down and being renovated so there is a great deal of building work which spoilt the appearance of the hotel on arrival. We would recommend the hotel for short visits and Reims is a beautiful city.

Room has A/C as standard and the windows are double glazed so incredibly quiet even though next to a busy road. Very good shower.

The outstanding feature of this hotel was the friendliness and helpful nature of the desk staff who made one feel really at home. We so enjoyed our first two nights here that we extended our stay for two more days. The room we had was clean; the air conditioner worked and the rooms were well soundproofed so we heard niether neighbours or traffic. The wireless internet worked seamlessly in our rooms.

Hôtel très bien situé, à 2 pas du centre de Reims et quasiment face à la porte Mars. Personnel accueillant et très serviable. Chambre propre et silencieuse. Bref, passé 2 très bonnes nuits.
