The rooms at L'Assiette were excellent. We were rewarded a free night because we had dined in the Dining Room. We would rate the Dining far superior to Les Crayeres. We were fortunate enough to be able to enyoy Armand's excellent quisine on two occasions. We will return to Reims [Tinquez] especially to enjoy the dining experience. We have dined at many of the best Tables around the world. Few, if any, could compare and we believe none would surpass in excellence.

Fabulous food - but at a price. Once in the restaurant the service was exemplary, but we were ignored for ages while on the patio taking an aperitif - and waited an hour for our booked table. The hotel side doesn't live up to the restaurant. Rooms with decor straight out of the 80s, and a poky and frankly unacceptable bathroom at this level. My advice - come here to eat, but stay in a more centrally-located hotel and get a cab!

The hotel charged my credit card for one night, without first asking my permission. I was last at this hotel in 2003, and the restaurant had changed completely -- now charging a ridiculous 155 Euros for the prix fixe, for one person. I chose to eat elsewhere. I also moved to a different hotel after only one night, because the room was very noisy. The plumbing sang all night. When I told the staff at reception that I did not want to stay for the second night, they did not ask why, or give any sign that they might be concerned that I wasn't happy there. When I checked into the room, there was no toilet paper in the bathroom. None had appeared by the evening turndown service, either. In the room, the door separating the bedroom from the foyer would not close.

not very friendly staff, kept coming into room without knocking (at least 4 times over 3 days) there is no way of getting anything to eat or hot drinks (no snack bar, no room service) unless you eat at the restaurant which is extremely expensive. The rooms were lovely, spacious and comfortable and we particularly liked the outside area.

This hotel is very special. If you want somewhere romantic or impressive to stay this is it. The accomodation is excellent. The cleanliness and service of the highest standard. But apart from a characterful building it is the restauarnt that is quite exceptional. The cuisine is "nouvelle" but of the highest quality, every mouthful is as it is designed to be; an explosion of taste in the mouth. The service is as you would expect of a top flight restaurant, excellent. My stay was thoroughly enjoyable.

Expensive but particularly in the restaurant with so little choice. All the food was too rich for one of our party who was then taken ill. A small but wider choice on the Menu would have been appreciated. The indoor pool was lovely

Nice hotel, with a first rate restaurant and service although very high end -- the pictures make it looks like its out in the country but its in the middle of the town

Only disappointment with room was lack of ventilation. Bedroom situated between lobby and sitting room and no fan / air conditioning fitted. Balcony fitted with shutters only (no curtains) so these had to be shut to exclude exterior light hence no airflow - uncomfortable nights sleep resulted.

two years since last reims visit and still a very nice place. hotel not got better, still about 3/3.5 star despite being given 4! staff very friendly, better than before, and english spoken well on front desk and by some in resteraunt. meal was still very good but perhaps not as lavish as previous menu and i'd have to say that and the wine are overpriced!

When they say "king" bed, they MEAN two twin beds pushed together. The crack down the middle was uncomfortable. Also, there is no food at all at the hotel after breakfast is over, except at the restaurant, which has very limited reservations. No room service, no snacks, absolutely nothing. I have never been at a hotel that far out of town where there was absolutely no way to get food. My husband and I tried to have a light meal at the bar one evening because we couldn't get a reservation at the restaurant, and we were told (very rudely) that there was absolutely nothing they could do for us, except to call a cab for us to go into town to eat. They are located a good ways out of town, so this can be a big inconvenience if you're hungry and don't want to leave (again) to get a small supper.

We loved the suite with patio. The rooms were attractively decorated and the entire hotel was quite charming. The restaurant on-site was excellent and our short stay at Hotel l'Assiette Champenoise capped off our vacation perfectly.

Very impressive place - we had a big room and it certainly was (it was bigger than my last flat) although would have personally rather had a balcony than a dressing room. Meal in the restaurant was pricey but worth it as the food was amazing. When completely baffled by the very extensive wine list, we received some much needed help and discovered a new favorite wine in the process. The reception will book your tours in some of the big champagne houses if you need.

Before arriving at the hotel and after booking I read some really rank reviews. However, I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised. The resident chef prepared an absolute phenominal meal (although prices were a bit steep) and the presentation was superb.

The noise made by children running around the corridors and shouting during the night, disturbed us and other visitors to the hotel. We had intended to visit the hotel with friends, but wouldn't want to be kept awake again.

We were very impressed with the quality of the hotel, the rooms, surroundings, restaurant and staff were all excellent. The rooms were spacious and luxurious and the restaurant in particular was of a very high quality. Altogether a memorable experience at a very reasonable price

Nice hotel with surroundings to match if a bit small. Reims worth a visit for day or two. Accomodation adequate, good clean indoor pool. V.nice resteraunt, not cheap but not most expensive for fancy place, meal was EXCELLENT!! Menu & wine list in French only but staff helpful. Had a lovely evening, take it slowly & enjoy a gastronomic delight!!

We were surpried to find that 'demi-pension'did not include breakfast. The english equivalent 'half-board' would always include breakfast. After some dispute, the hotel did grudgingly refund the breakfast charge, but this slightly spoilt our visit.

This was a birthday break, and the only way it could have been improved would have been to know in advance that there was a pool there and to plan accordingly! The service was friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. The food was fantastic, as was the wine. I would recommend it to anyone who wanted to spend a little bit more for a special treat.

Our welcome to this hotel was cold and flat and although we were on the first floor there was no lift or porter or any offer to help with our bags nor were we shown to our rooms. After travelling all day to reach this hotel we arrived at 3 pm and asked for a snack which was met with a sarcastic laugh. We managed to obtain a cup of tea though not even a biscuit despite the high cost. However, when we left the lounge area we passed another guess/staff member (?) enjoying coffee and biscuits. The breakfast was very meagre and basic and on both mornings the tea water was lukewarm and unpleasant. This hotel is overpriced and overrated. We stayed at many finer places during our trip for considerably less. The staff were the least helpful and least friendly we encountered.

The rooms with balcony are OK except the bathroom and the separated lavatory, which are very small, uncomfortable and poor. Taking a shower floods the whole bathroom, on the walls around the shower dark mouldy spots. The breakfast wasn't worth a quarter of the price we had to pay for. A hotel of this category should offer better looked-after rooms for his guests and a larger choice on breakfast.

The hotel itself is situated very near an industrial area, but once you are inside the grounds, it is very pleasant. We could walk into Rheims, although there was a bus just outside the hotel if you wanted to catch that. The hotel has a superb dining room, and we had two evenings of fantastic food and a wonderful selection of champagnes. Negatives were that there was no air conditioning and it was very hot during our stay. Also we had requested a twin room, but the type of room we had was a double which could not be made into a twin. After check in, a plate of muffins was brought to the room, which was a rather nice touch, and we sat on our little terrace (we had a garden suite) eating them and drinking champagne! (not necessarily at the same time). The bathroom was looking a little 'tired', and could probably do with a touch up. Overall, it was a very convenient hotel for our visit to Rheims.

I woulld hightly recommend this hotel for an indulgent and relaxing break. If you want to eat in the restaurant at least 24hrs notice is required. The only downside was that due to travel difficulties beyond our control (Eurotunnel was closed for 3hrs) our arrival was not until 4am and our room had been let. Therefore we only had two nights instead of the booked three nights. The manager was extremely apologetic, when we were able to take up our room there was complimentary champagne. The restaurant for that evening was fully booked, however the following evening we were given the best table, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, we have made an advanced booking to return in August.

The hotel was advertised as 4 star, but the services offered were certainly NOT. We notofied the hotel in advance that we would like a baby cot in our room. This request was acknowledged, but were were NOT advised that they intended to charge us for this !! As we had small children with us, we wished to eat in our room. We were told that we could not have the a la carte, but had to choose from the small main menu that was EXTOIRTIONATE !! The champagne that we chose (1 bottle Deutz Rose) was not sent. Someone please tell the owners, that when you say you are 4 star, then act like you are, smile to your customers, and try and help them enjoy their stay. When i query an item on my bill, i do not expect the proprieter to throwq their hands in the air and walk away. As a disatisfied customer i will do what unhappy people do - i will tell 10 people of my bad experience !! The rest of our trip was excellent.

The hotel should be very comfortable, but non-smokers and non-dog lovers are not made to feel very welcome. Unfortunately, we are not smokers, and I have a fear of dogs! There are few areas which are non-smoking, and we were not given the option of a non-smoking table for dinner, so endured the next table's smoke thoughout most of our meal. Indeed, there is a feeling that hotel almost encourages smoking as the ground floor retains a smell of cigars and cigarettes, some of which is stale... We almost decided to leave immediately after checking in, such was the smell on the ground floor. The hotel allows dogs, and indeed a huge Alsation/ German Shepherd (I'm not sure which but it was quite frightening!) was waiting on the front doorstep when we arrived, and wanders round the ground floor of the hotel. I'm not sure how tame it is, but it has a ferocious sounding bark! Later, after dinner, when enjoying a quite cup of tea in the bar, whilst no-one else was there, so no-one was smoking, a couple came in but since they brought their two highly excited dogs with them (having fetched them from their room), we promptly left. It was a shame - what promised to be an ideal relaxing break turned out to be a tense, smelly one. The food was outstanding however, despite attempts from neighbouring tables to smother us with their smoke, and very young children (one in a high chair, and another in a pram) crying during their parents' dinners! Whilst walking along a corridor, we spotted a category 3 room which appeared to be much more comfortable and spacious than the category 2 room we were in, and would have been well worth the extra €15 a night!! Lastly, the hotel may be a couple of minutes drive from Reims, or a couple of minutes walk to the outskirts of Reims, but it was a brisk 20 minute walk to the centre, and nearly half an hour to the Cathedral, and we are both in our 30's and quite fit!!
