Hotel Mosaico - Ravenna

The hotel is virtually close to the center, but there is the railway in between, and it takes at least 10' walk to go to most monuments, and moving by car is a nightmare in Ravenna. Very nice rooms, new and well equipped, nice people, nice breakfast.

Breakfast have been very good. We have enjoyed bike - renting for free and the closeness to the city centre. The employess and all the staff are veru corteous.

Maybe it was our mistake but we did not realise this hotel is right next to a big port! I envisioned a pretty little port but this was a big one and right next to the railway yards to boot! It is a good 20 minute walk to the old part of town which is where we wanted to be to see the Mosaics. Of an evening we drove back to the old town for dinner and had absolutely no trouble in parking (this was good advice from the Reception staff). We did not fancy walking back that far at night. Having said the above if you were on business this is a perfect place to stay - we were tourists! The staff very pleasant and more than helpful.

Very good stay. Unfortunately, my mother got ill while on this trip (unrelated to the hotel!) On the bright side, she was able to rest and recuperate in a clean, comfortable space. She is 79 and not very mobile, so we requested a disability-ready room on the ground floor. It was fantastic for her to have a large bathroom area with stability bars on the walls and shower. Breakfast was also fantastic.

Abbastanza vicino al centro (il sottopasso della stazione è a dieci minuti di camminata): l'ideale sarebbe avere una bici. I dintorni (zona porto/darsena) non sono molto accoglienti ma il Mausoleo di Todorico è vicinissimo. Le camere sono ben insonorizzate ma chi ha il sonno molto molto leggero stia attento: l'albergo è fra i binari, il porto, una strada molto trafficata e la centrale termica è appena fuori dalle camere. Consigliabilissimo per un soggiorno con l'auto o per un passaggio veloce in città. Comodo anche per raggiungere il mare e le attrazioni turistiche (20/30 minuti). Colazione magari non luculliana ma di buona qualità.

Appena arrivati la signora alla reception non è stata molto simpatica, anzi, ci ha guardato come se fossimo 4 barboni. appena in camera abbiamo scoperto che la quadrupla da noi prenotata non era altro che una tripla (piuttosto piccola) con un lettino per bambini aggiunto. ci hanno proposto o di dividerci, due restavano in quella camera e gli altri due venivano spostati in un altro hotel, oppure uno sconto di circa 30euro, che abbiamo accettato visto che il letto matrimoniale era enorme e in tre ci stavamo comodi comodi. a parte questo inconveniente l'hotel era pulito, silenzioso, abbastanza centrale e a due passi dalla stazione. la colazione ottima, i camerieri disponibili e simpatici.

The Hotel is a short walk from Theoderich's tomb and about 10 minutes away from the centro storico. The stuff is businesslike but not unfriendly. The station is less than 5 minutes away in the same street, for car travellers there is free parking. The rooms are friendly and if you close the windows soundproof. The public area has the charme of a youth hostel, but breakfast -buffet- is good enough to start your day. I would recommend the hotel to the independent traveller who does not need lots of assistance.

The structure was as described, but... the surroundings were an urban desert!! There are still works in progress in the parking lot and court (?) but there is no garden, nor there will be, no swimming pool. From an “agriturismo” one expect a "countryside" atmosphere but this is a nicely renovated old house in a suburban industrial environment. We only slept there, but I could not stay there during the day.

Good quality hotel, excellent breakfast buffet. Fair way from the centre but the receptionist offered to lend us bicycles.

Mosacio was our least favorite stop while on our honeymoon. The hotel is located behind the Termini, so you have to get a taxi for a 10 minute ride for 20 Euro... Stay somewhere else in Ravenna, I'm sure there are better places.

Really a remarkably nice accomodation if one plans a visit to Ravenna ! The quality of the hotel and the competence of the employees are very good. Breakfast is excellent and the price is very reasonable. I would recommend it to everyone. The only relatively weak point is the location. It is close to the station and to downtown, but also to a big road which prevents easy walking and biking.

Nice room; good service and breakfast. Excellent price. Two minor problems: not near most monuments and driving directions on Web inadequate.

We were very surprise to find a new hotel in such a location. we were in europe for 2 weeks and spent almost every night in a diferent hotel, all of the other hotels were in a center city and looked from the outside like apt. buildings. the hotel was a very refreshing change. great pleace for a great price.

There was road construction going on around the hotel which prevented walking to town. The hotel was nice, spatious, good breakfast, friendly staff and free parking.

Excellent staff - friendly and efficient; very good room, although the a-c struggled with the 35 degrees heat (which is when you really want it to work!); excellent breakfast, wide variety and generous quantities. A most enjoyable stay.
