Hotel Minerva - Ravenna

My great disappointment was the internet connection. They claim to have wireless, and they have it, but it does not work properly, in the room was very hard to connect and in the lobby also, internet was very slow (too many users?). That is really a pity, nowadays a hotel lose many points when internet does not work.

This was my first time in Ravenna, and like many visitors I went for the art. The hotel is not near the train station like I was told, it is literally right next to it. This was very helpful in some aspects, but detrimental to my overall experience in others. It was easy to find and to get my luggage to, it wasn't that far away from the majority of the main sights, and it was very nice to have the bus stops right there at the train station. I did not like the general area that much though, which got sketchy starting in early evening and I was not that comfortable walking around by myself. Also there weren't that many restaurants near the hotel so it was hard to find a place for dinner.

Hotel staff is very kind and friendly, very close to city centre, very very very close to train station (about 20 m, but no noise). Breakfast is average, cleanliness atop, heaters did not work properly.

Two mimute walk from train station and 10 from hostoric center. Kind staff, good breakfast. I do recommend it.

At last a hotel that I can find in minutes- when they said close to rail station it was absolutely wonderfully close. Staff were very helpful - the bill was as stated- the TV set enormous (my single room upgraded to a double but no extra charge) Breakfast was continental and not exciting although bakery was fresh and good quality. Coffee was made and served by staff member which is such an improvement on machine self service. I had just a night here so I did not want to spend hours trying to find the hotel at the end of a walking day- this was excellent for me. The Ravenna welcome booklet was extremely useful. I felt it was suitable for single women travellers to stay in, and the shower room was huge.

What I did not like was the poor quality of breakfast and having it on plastic dishes and glasses

We chose this hotel because it was close to the train station & attractions -- it was. We also had a nice balcony, view of train station but trains are very quiet & no problem with noise. Breakfast was good and we had plenty. I would recommend this hotel for location & value.
