Hotel Astoria - Ravenna

Very handy location for walking to the major sights. Hotel recommendation for restaurant very good.

Excellent situated "near the Old City"

Was a fine hotel for our stay of one night. Staff helpful.

Personal simpático y muy servicial. Habitación limpia y espaciosa. Mobiliario algo anticuado. Ducha incómoda. Desayuno variado y con cappuccino "auténtico".

The advantage of this hotel is its free parking on marked bays in the front. It is on a main ring road so there is traffic gong past. We had a room to the side and were not disturbed by the noise. The main sites were about 10-15 minutes walk away. If you are coming by train you may as well stay nearer to the station which is more convenient for visiting the sites. The reception at the hotel was good. Without asking, we were given a map and the main sites were identified. Although the hotel was rated three stars we felt that it was closer to two stars. The room was clean but there were scuff marks on the walls, probably from cases rubbing against them. The bedroom furniture looked a little faded. There was a fridge available for our use. Our bathroom was very clean, but long and narrow and could be difficult to manoevre. There was a computer available free for connection to the internet The breakfast was average. We were offered a cappucino from an espresso machine. We were impressed by this, but then we tasted the coffee in the urn and found it undrinkable.

Hotel di aspetto modesto, camere piccole e un po' squallide. L'accoglienza la competenza e il servizio del personale sono ottimi. La colazione offerta è solo discreta, senza disponibilità di molte cose ormai offerte comunemente come salumi, formaggi, frutta,uova ecc..Il pregio del'albergo è la sua posizione, ai margini del centro di Ravenna, che consente di raggiungere tutti i monumenti importanti, escluso sant'Apollinare in Classe, in 10-15 minuti a piedi, e la disponibilità di un parcheggio davanti all'albergo. Il prezzo è però troppo elevato rispetto alla qualità ed ai servizi offerti, rapportato a quanto disponibile in Europa, purtroppo come spesso avviene in Italia

It doesn't look promising in the photos, but we took a chance and are glad that we did. The Astoria was the best value for money that I have experienced in a hotel in over 10 years of living and traveling in Europe: we had a clean, quiet, comfortable, well air-conditioned room, with easy parking, in a good location,with friendly & helpful staff. What more can you ask for at 80 euros a night, including breakfast for two? I wish that they were a franchise!

The hotel has a parking place which is useful.the receptionist are very helpful and are speaking good english.we got an address of a very good restaurant. our room was very small but clean. the hotele is situated on a main street therefore noisy.

The staff were most helpful. Rooms were comfortable if very small - not unusual in Italy of course. Highly recommended.

Hotel chiquito, pero muy bonito. Funcional y a muy buen precio. El personal es amabilísimo y está muy cerca de San Vitale. Se tiene que llegar en autobus desde la estación de tren, porque aunque está cerca, la pendiente y el calor hacen imposible el recorrido.

Easy to reach by car, and on walking distance of the city center

The personnel at the Astoria reception desk is truly exceptional. We got excellent advice as to where to eat, how to get to the old town sites we wanted to visit, what to see, etc. It made our stay in Ravenna very pleasant, and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The man at the front desk was more thoughtful, genteel and accommodating than any I have encountered in other hotels in Italy. Everything about the accommodations were ideal relative to the price. The distance between the hotel and city center is walkable, but I would definitely recommend taking a taxi while carting luggage.

Mi sono sentita molto a mio agio! Anche se avevo solo due giorni a disposizione. La prima colazione era eccelente. Ci tornerei senz'altro!

Good breakfast. A bit of a walk to sights, hard to find when you arrive in Ravenna.

Absolutely not good value for money. Outdated furnishings in tiny rooms. Breakfast was OK, nothing special. Car Parking and location are the only reason to choose this hotel in Ravenna.

This hotel was expensive for the standard of accommodation. The breakfast was basic with no fruit, cheese or ham offered. The staff were friendly and helpful and we were recommended excellent restaurants and bars by the receptionist.

Nice, friendly hotel. We had a warm welcome, and were very well looked after. The rooms are immaculately clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower etc. worked perfectly; and the staff are charming and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Ravenna.

Nice small hotel located at one of the main traffic routes within Ravenna. Very friendly service, nice small rooms. Recommendable.

Nice hotel with friendly and competent staff. Conveniantly situated for visiting the towns magnificent places.

The air conditioning did not operate continuously. When the window was opened to allow some air in, it became very noisy due to the location over a main automobile thoroughfare. On the positive side, the hotel was clean and serviceable. The staff was courteous and the minibar service was welcome and reasonably priced.

Excellent hotel with secure parking and in a perfect location for visiting the splendours of Ravenna. The free bike was a welcome, and well used, bonus. I will try to stay at the Astoria when I next visit Ravenna.
