This hotel was generally OK without being special in any way. Convenient to the station and town centre, on a busy road but it is quiet. Breakfast good standard fare

The air conditionned machine didn't run in the bedroom and the weather was hot. The breakfast was ordinary.

Stayed here in June 2009. Very good hotel, very close to the railway station, clean, big room, very good and plentiful breakfast. I would stay here again for sure.

The only bad thing I noticed was the number of power shortcuts.

slightly outdated - though very spacious - room, but atmosphere and service make up for that!

The hotel is very good and its location is perfect to visit the town. The only problem is that you hear clearly everything going on in the room next door. In case of unquiet neighbour it is going to be a bad night.

The hotel is just on the edge of the tourist area. I was happy with the location. The room cost 80 euro for Saturday night and 60 euro for the next two nights. Our room was up under the eves with a very small window and done (and over done) in knotty pine (walls, ceiling). The staff was friendly and offered suggestions on dining when asked.

Brakfast is among the best in Italy, but shower is a bit too small. (like the one in the hotels on the beach) The hotel will be closed for a while from autumn due to the restoration, and would become even better.

Nice hotel, pleasant and helpful staff. Good location for sight-seeing and also close to train station. Rooms spacious and clean but decor dated. Free internet in foyer. Breakfast was good.
Italy, Apr 2009
This hotel is in a great location, easy to find, across the road from a good value and high quality pizzeria/ristorante and a stone's throw from Sant Appollinare in Classe nuovo. The staff were friendly and efficient, the room was a little old fashioned, but highly functional and very clean. The breakfast was excellent and overall I was very pleased with hotel Argentario. I would stay there again and recommend it as it is great value for money. The only negative thing was that the room was a little noisy in the morning as there was a school group in the rooms near ours.

there were english students in all the hotel and they made a lot of noise on the night (corridors and also rooms) after midnight.. + excellent breakfast !!!

You can't think of a better location. The room was airy, quiet and clean. Actually, we were kindly offered a bigger room for the same price.Breakfast was good and various, the hotel staff was friendly. If we ever come back to Ravenna,we shall stay in this hotel again.

The staff was very helpful regarding parking. Also took care of our request to move our room from on the street to a quieter location.

This is a really good hotel, only 50m from Sant'Apollonare - we went to Ravenna to see the mosaics and discovered that there is much more to this charming city! The young girl on the counter had very little english, but we were able to work out where to park the car (200m away) with a bit of sign language and a lot of patience! The room was excellent value for the price, and we were sorry that we were only staying one night, as the town is worth a much closer look. The hotel is adjacent to a limited traffic zone, so if you arrive by car, beware of vigili cameras if you get lost! But because of this, the only traffic hazard you will encounter is the cyclists of which there are many. If you happen to stray into forbidden territory, ask the desk clerk for a form to submit to the traffic police so you won't have a lovely gift of a fine on your return home! There is an excellent restaurant on the opposite corner if you don't want to go too far for dinner.

All was mostly well with our stay. Room was clean an spacious. I was just disappointed that when, because of a train strike, we were unable to make our first night stay there , there was no discussion of some alternative to having to pay for the full price for the night we were unable to get to. The hotel was not required to do this, I realize, but it would have been a nice gesture.

This hotel had the friendliest staff I met on my holiday (round central and north Italy by rail) The room was a bit on the dark side and a bit dated but no problem as I was only there two nights. There was air-conditioning which made things more comfortable but it was so hot I think it struggled to cope. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Extremely easy to find and very convenient for the station and the centre of the town. The internet point was an added bonus - as was the only Bible I found in a hotel room on my trip - a Luke's gospel in 4 languages

I was lucky to park my car on one of the several places marked on the street in front of the hotel entrance, but safe and free of charge for the full day.

It is in a very convenient location for sightseeing. Some better directions on how to get there by car would be appreciated, because of the restrictions to traffic in the historic center and parking problems. The hotel is very close to S. Apollinare Nuovo and one can walk very easily from there to all the attractions in the historic center. It is also easy to drive from there to S. Apollinare in Classe, which is a really must see!

A convenient hotel for my purpose - a mosaic course just a few minutes walk away. Also within walking distance of the station and the centre with one or two reasonable restaurants close by. Quite comfortable for a working trip.

This is an excellent value for money hotel. It is located about 800 metres from the station and the same distance from the city centre. There is an excellent restaurant/pizzeria opposite and a supermarket nearby. The buffet breakfast served in a pleasant, large airy room was the better than in any other hotel that I have stayed in in Italy. As well as freshly made coffee and croissant there was a good variety of breakfast cereal, fruit, and yoghurt. The room was large, had a fridge and the bed comfortable. There was free internet access in the lobby. The hotel staff were friendly and efficient. I would definitely stay here again.

Simple hotel with all necessary conveniencies and moderate interior, located in the central area, right beside downtown, in 5-7- minute walk to main attractions. Perfect place to spend a night on a trip through a country. Friendly staff; free parking in neighboring streets

My wife and I stayed here in early March 2007. We were very satisfied with the location, price and accommodations. We walked from the train station. St appolinare Nuovo is almost next door. The breakfast was bo untiful and tasty. The room on the third floor was accessible by elevator. The common area is spacious. The price was very reasonable.
Netherlands, Feb 2007
compared with the previous hotel (Maxim/Verona) the relationship between price/quality was rather poor. Bathroom need obvious a uprasing.

The onle thing I didn't like was the toilet that didn't flash well. For the rest - a good hotel for a good price. Internet a big plus.

The only issues I had were that the web advertised parking. In practice the car park was an open public car park 300 metres away and one was lucky if there was a spare space available in it. At least it was free! The public areas were basic although the breakfasts were OK. It was commensurate with the price.

On the plus side, the staff was helpful, the breakfast buffet was good, and the hotel is close to several major sites. On the negative, a cheap hotel is a cheap hotel. The room we stayed in could be said to be "well worn". If you like to brush your teeth while sitting on the toilet, then this is the place for you. It must be the hair dryer that brought it up to 3 stars. And while our room was not facing a street, the building vibrated with every truck that passed on the main thoroughfare (Via di Roma) out front. We left after one night instead of staying for three. Terrific restaurants in town: Melarancia (gnocchi w. egglplant cream and black truffles) Tempo Perso (very fresh seafood), Al Rustichello (on Via Maggiore, no menu, great fresh pasta and roast meats)

The accomodations were as advertised and at the price advertised. The process of finding and booking the reservation was very easy and the process of choosing the right accomodation in the right location was simple due to the design of the site. All in all an excellent way to book a room.

staff was very helpful with all sorts of questions especailly opening times and closing time, bus schedules and all. No down sides so we will stay at the hotel again on an other trip. The Venere service is first rate and the best we've used in the last few years.

Little in the online description accurately depicts this hotel...free parking is the 3 spaces in front of the hotel if you get there first or blocks away...computer in the lobby had software woefully needing updating and the browser could not connect with AOL and reduce service on Google Mail. Our bathroon drains were almost clogged and the water backed up from the shower to the main floor if you turned the shower water on more than a drizzle...the room was dark 20 years past renovation and the only view was a wall 2 ft away from the window..worst hotel of 6 we stayed in this trip in Italy and France...some we paid less and got a lot more

We liked our stay at the Argentario very much. The staff was very helpful, and the hotel is located fairly close to the most interesting sites in the city. The only problem that those visiting Ravenna should be alerted to the fact that it is very difficult to get around in the city by car, and parking can be difficult. It is best to call the hotel ahead of time and get very specific directions about how to get there, since there are many one-way streets.

Very good hotel but we found the lay-out of the bathroom facilities to be very poor. WC very cramped in corner behind wash basin and the shower was in front of a window and could not be used without overflowing the inadequate shower tray, making the floor very slippery.

Good hotel. It was a bit difficult to find driving, but that is because of the nature of the geography.

Pretty easy to find from the train station. But all those damn cobblestones on the Ravenna footpaths played havoc on the wheels of the suitcase! Especially liked the free internet facility at the hotel. Hotel is very central to tourist venues in the town and the staff were really helpful. Would highly recommend it to other Aussie travellers.

Ottima posizione a ridosso del centro. Si arriva in centro a piedi in pochissimi minuti. Camera un po' spartana ma corredata di tutto l'occorrente essenziale. Camera e bagno molto puliti

Perfectly located, with clean and quiet rooms near the historical center but in an area to which one can drive. We parked our car in front of the hotel, which one probably coudn't do on a weekday, but which was no problem on Saturday night. We walked everywhere in the city with no problem. The staff was helpful, even offering us an umbrella.

The hotel was very good and the service was fine. We walked to all the historical locations in Ravenna and had an excellent dinner at a nearby restaurant the hotel recom-mended. We parked on the street right in front of the hotel. I would stay here again and I would recommend this hotel.

The Hotel Argentario was a real find, excellent quality for the price, and well located, both close to the train station and the historic center. I walked everywhere. The breakfast included with the room was also good and abundant, and the breakfast room was spacious, unlike many others. The staff was friendly and helpful, and there was complimentary Internet use on a computer in the lobby.
