Rich and interesting is the history of this villa which was roman noble Marquis de Cinque family's manor, an history which blends with Ravello's and the Amalfi Coast's. The 4 star hotel, while preserving the elegant forms of a lordly mansion, in the years has undergone noteworthy redecorations which have fashioned its actual splendour. In all of the premises, halls, staircases and public areas it is still possible to admire the antique marble floors and in the rooms and the bathrooms hand painted Vietrese School majolica tiles.

Villa Maria furniture is particularly researched and appropriate to the villa former lifestyle; liberty and art deco is present next to Murano glass chandeliers and every corner welcomes the visitor making him enjoy ancient enchantment. However the hotel is equipped with all modern technologies, the rooms have been renewed with all comforts, in the bathrooms it is possible to relax in the shower or in the whirlpool bath. The Palumbo family, owners from four generations, since 1934 with great grandparents Vincenzo and Orsola, still personally manages the hotel with grandchildren Francesco and Giuseppe who, thanks to the experience acquired in hotels and restaurants abroad, devote themselves to the hotel with youthful spirit but with the same attention and commitment of their predecessors

How to reach Villa Maria Hotel

By car
By car
From Rome - highway A2 toward Naples
1) Just before Caserta sud take the A30 (indicated as Salerno-Reggio Calabria) and exit at PAGANI-NOCERA. Follow the signs to the "Costa Amalfitana" to reach Ravello via the Chiunzi pass. This is the best and shortest route, expecially during holidays when the roads are crowded but not suitable at night time. Or:
2) Proceed towards Naples and take highway A3 to Salerno. Exit at either Angri or Vietri sul mare.
a) At ANGRI follow signs to the "Costa Amalfitana" to reach Ravello via the Chiunzi pass.
b) At Vietri sul mare take the coastal road (Costiera Amalfitana) through Cetara, Maiori and Minori (maybe will take more time but very easy).

By train
From Salerno train station take a taxi or the SITA bus service to Ravello. Connections are frequent: every hour from the nearby SITA bus station.
