I spent a week here in July 2008. The staff was very warm and welcoming and the room was comfortable and spacious. The location was very central and overall it was a pleasant stay. However, I felt it was overpriced when compared to other hotels in this category. Breakfast was not included, and my towels were not changed once during the entire week. I could hear everything going on at the main desk from my room, and my balcony was shared with another room. Since the cleaning staff left my balcony doors open every day (despite my request to keep them closed) that meant that the guests in the other room had complete access to my room (and there was no safe in the room). Having said this, my stay was pleasant enough and I would consider returning in the future.

Very polite staff. There is no buffet breakfast but a la carte. Breakfast of excellent quality and great variety. Very central location (piazza Cavour of Rapallo). Great view from the 5th floor.

This is a 2 star hotel, and keeping that in mind we were very pleased. Don't expect luxury for that price, but it was better than we anticipated. We had a one night stop in Rapallo on our way to Toscana and it was perfect. There were 4 of us, so we booked a quad room. It was bigger than expected and even had a little kitchenette. There was even room for a fifth person (bunk murphy beds). Best of all, it had a/c! The bathroom was brand new and beds were comfortable. Very cute, nice views from the dining room. We had a fabulous breakfast and wished we'd had them make dinner for us too. It's right in the center of town, short walk to the beach. It's in a shopping area, in an office building, on the 5th(?) floor. Hard to find, but we did it. You have to park in the paid parking by the beach, then walk to the Galleria Montallegro, walk past some shops, find the sign and go up an elevator. Quite an adventure, but still a great bargain and a little gem. My teenage kids enjoyed being in the center of the action. Would stay again, as it was inexpensive in a very expensive area. The hosts were very nice and welcoming even though we didn't speak Italian. They spoke a little English and French, so we got by.

Of all the places we stayed, we got the least amount for our money in Rapallo. The family room was an average size room with a double bed and a pull out sofa. Parking and breakfast are not included in the room rate. The shower in the bathroom needed a good cleaning. That said, the breakfast was delicious (although expensive) and the couple who run the property are really wonderful. The location is great, right off the water in the center of town, but the hotel overlooks one of the main squares and can be noisy if you face that direction. Note that there is a large clock tower with a bell that chimes several times an hour starting at 7 in the morning until sometime late at night (11 pm?). We didn't think to use the room air conditioner until the second night and slept much better with the windows closed and the A/C on.
