Hotel Cavour - Rapallo

Hotel Cavour: Very unfriendly staff, starting from reception staff day or evening, to rude elderly manager in the breakfast room. The room service (cleaning) lady banged the door to get into our room at 8h in the morning, and finally pushed her way in at 9h30 although we were in the room (although we were not checking out -2 night stay) The jacuzzi was inoperational as mentioned in other reviews. Very friendly Italians in this and sourrounding city, so the unfriendliness of hotel staff was striking. Recommend to stay away from Hotel Cavour or if you must, bring Prozac along. Travel tip: apart from from beautiful hikes around Portofino and Cinque Terre, go to Chiavari! Great beachfront, nice shopping, superb restaurants and the friendliest people! Say Hi to Papy in Gelateria Papy.

The room was nice and tidy but not clean, dust everywhere, in the furniture surfaces as well as in the bed. however the bathroom was fuctional and clean. the water into the jacuzzi was not clean it has been not possible to use it. the position of the hotel is perfect near the train station and in the city centre.

Very friendly personel and always willing to answer request and help. Room was small but very clean. Breakfast was good however, the personel in breakfast-romm was a bit moody.

Very disappointed with this hotel, the poor quality of service when you arrive at 10pm coming from Geneva (5 hours drive) and does not have a help with your luggage (we are both 60 and 65 years old). We spent only one night being waken up at 7am by the cleaning lady. The surroundings both at the hotel and around are dreadfull. If you open the window everything is durty. For a little more money (150.00 instead of 111.00)we found two charming hotels the Miramare and the Canali's.This Cavour hotel is good for business people one night but not for tourists who want to spend 4 nights by the beach in a touristic place.

EXELENTEMENTE UBICADO

We stay only 2 days, so it was not important the location. It was very central and no sea view. Very confortable, close to everything, very clean, simple breackfast

That was my second experience in this hotel. Not easy to park and unload but proximity of down town is worthwhile. I like the place and I will be back.

The hotel is actually set in a shopping galerie, not far from the beach, and facing the street that leads to the rail station (where the hotel recommends parking). Reception area looks a bit moody and if the night watchman is on he'll add to that atmosphere but by day things return to normal. The bed was hard so the sleep wasn't the best. The room had no view (I guess the whole hotel is surrounded) and the bathroom had the funniest shaped loo and B-day I'd ever seen - you know its not easy peeing and laughing at the same time... For 90€ the place wasn't bad so I'd do it again but only for a few nights max due to the bed.

We were just passing heading to Tuscany. Quite impossible to find a place for your car. Once you've done it, you can profitate of the sea side which is not bad at all, but Portofino is only 10-15 min away with car. Room were well furnished and clean, but a bit small.

Excellent structure. Employees very kind. Competence. I advised you the Cavour Hotel.

Its hard to make reservations for one night anywhere on the Riviera so we were somewhat limited in our choices...Cavour was adequate...Clean rooms, okay...Nothing great...Lots of nice surroundings if you walk around Rapallo....

If you want a comfortable base to visit the area you could not get better value.Don't expect any views from your room but you will be only 50 metres from the sea front and all the restaurants and bars.The buffet breakfast was good and our room was well furnished, clean, and spacious.

Hotel per una buona scelta per periodi brevi

Hotel was in a good, central location. Room was clean and quiet, but a bit small. Staff at front desk, with one exception, was very competent and helpful. Francesco, in particular, was a real asset. He was friendly and welcoming, and assisted us in every possible way with directions, parking, where to shop, etc.

Il soggiorno anche se brevissimo è stato il massimo! Personale cortesissimo, camere graziose, spaziose e pulite. Consigliato vivamente

Personalmente ci siamo trovati benissimo: bella camera, bel bagno, bell'hotel e buon mangiare. Staff disponibile sempre.ci ritorneremo presto!

In general, we were very impressed with the cleanliness and decor of the hotel and our room, the maid service was excellent. Although the jacuzzi on the roof was not cleaned out on a daily basis. The breakfast facilities could have been a lot better, the table of four beside us had 10 breadrolls at 8.30am, with no more supplied for other guests, as they had taken all available. There was only one person serving up to 20 guests in the breakfast room, and tea/coffee/hot drink was supplied through the waitress, would be much better if we could have helped our selves. My only problem with the hotel was the location in between 2 churches with bell towers that rang on the hour every hour, but were not synchronised, so at 12pm & 12am, we had 24 bell toils, which if you like your sleep on holidays as us lazy Irish do, we were not very happy about being woken up every hour on the hour!!!!
