The 4-star seem a bit overstated in relation to the quality of the room: the shower knob was taped, the minibar was not checked or filled prior to our arrival there was a water bottle started inside, the furnitures were old. The room could be better managed and more welcoming. However the location and the building have the potential and the comfort is enough if we just stay for a night or two.

Lovely hotel and reasonably priced. A little walk out of town (10 mins) but no problem and away from any noise. Staff were really helpful and friendly and we had no problem with the WIFI connection. Lovely place to stay to explore the area. Looking at the other hotels in the area and the price of the others this was an excellent choice.

A very nice smaller hotel with a more intimate atmosphere and service, which is exactly what we were looking for and what we found. We especially liked the 'Italian villa' style and atmosphere that has been maintained throughout the hotel.

The room was so small u could not put the suitcase away, bathroom was of poor quality with very small shower cabin (0.8m diagonal square), toilet seat broken, shower would not adjust, water temperature dangerously fluctuating. Overall: overpriced, location is a bit outside of the center. It may have been a good hotel once; parking was a problem, had go move my car number of times.

Nice Hotel. Very central. Drawback, it is very noisy. You can hear everything from the neighbor room.

Charmant hotel, très bon accueil, jaccuzzi et hammam appréciables au retour d'une promenade moto ; un peu à l'écart sur les hauteurs de la ville (10 minutes à pied maximum), idéal pour le calme et le repos. Un excellent séjour.

Very nice hotel with excellent food. The rooms could have been more at the 4 star level - although the hotel is definately excellent. Nice and very helpful staff. Available hotel parking is very important.

The front desk staff went out of their way to help us with dinner, reservations, taxis and directions. the ducks in the pond outside are loud if you have your windows open! (but we though that was a fun memory) the hotel is a five-minute walk from the center of Rapallo and the waterfront. breakfast was wonderful and they have a nice area for late-night lounging on the terrace

Average sized rooms however wooden floors distribute noise. Restaurant not open due to Genoa Boat Show and superior rooms(larger rooms)on lower ground no outlook. Reception desk quite chaotic when permanent day staff leaves. Quite a reasonable walk to town downhill but a bit of a chore uphill on the way back. Nice sitting out areas

Hotel staff were excellent and looked after their customers extremely well. The hotel was expensive in view of its location and the fact that there was no sea view or balcony.

We came to Rapallo on the suggestion of a friend as a quiet and beautiful resort. This is quite true. It was a very gentle place with little coves with bathing areas but not much beach. The hotel recommended one particular "bagno" which the children loved as they could snorkel and see quite a lot of fish. The hotel was in a good setting and our room had a view of the sea. We stayed as a family of four in two double rooms. The hotel was charming and the staff very helpful. It was not particularly cheap but there was plenty of space to lounge about, play cards, read etc, although a smaller garden than I had thought from the pictures. We ate in the restaurant one night which was very pleasant but again, not particularly cheap.

First time stay and we found the staff very friendly and professional. They provide a great breakfast and the restaurant is definitely worth a try. Car parking was good albeit a bit cramped. Overall we loved our stay in Rapollo and it is an excellent base to explore Cinque Terre (use the train) as well as the ferry to Portofino.

Good location pleasant walk into town through the park. room excellent, clean and spacious, outside areas neat and tidy. Breakfast was basic even by Italian standards, coffee machine broken on two mornings of our stay. The evening meal was expensive although of reasonable quality. The service was rushed by the staff and could have been better.

The Rapallo is a gorgeous hotel with an incredible ocean view right in the Italian Riviera. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were spacious and clean. Driving up the windy roads of Rapallo can be 'fun'. Request an ocean view because its situation on the hill is wonderful.

We enjoyed a superb stay at the Canali. Only a 10 minute steady stroll into the centre of Rapallo but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to enjoy a peaceful break. Superb staff and the new suites on the lower groung floor are finished to a superb standard. We will definitely return.

My teenage daughter and I stayed here for 4 days in April (we planned on staying for 2 days but found Rapallo and the ambience of the hotel so relaxing and welcoming that we decided to stay on). The staff are knowledgeable, welcoming and helpful and the hotel is in a unique location - a 5-10 minute stroll through a beautiful park to the city centre. Peaceful, great service, immaculately clean - a very special place and great value for money. I'd recommend Hotel Canali to anyone.

A gem - 5 Star experience. Staff superb - they couldn't do enough for us - 3 couples traveling together. Well maintained property - room/bath immaculate (size smallish by US standards, but perfectly fine). Wonderful amenities. Breakfast and dinner first rate. Food and drink array offered at breakfast a sight to behold. On site parking definitie plus. Quiet neighborhood. Easy walk to waterfront and shops. Wine and good conversation on veranda in early evening perfect way to unwind. Spa was an added treat. We will return! Staff recommended Monaco Restaurant on 2nd night - not fancy, but served by owner, with a great kitchen. Treated royally. Fresh sea bass and pasta as good as it gets.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Hotel Canali, especially the exterior. The grounds are well maintained and the jaccuzzi and lounging terrace is a bonus. Parking is difficult in Rapallo so we found the parking at the hotel very helpful (room for about 10 cars). The room was adequate and we were not unhappy. The only comment would be that the furniture was a bit old fashioned and not in keeping with the rest of the hotel. Airconditioning was good and we had satellite TV although only CNN in English. We stayed 2 nights and were overall very happy with this hotel. There is a 5-10 minute walk into town but that was pleasant especially if you walk through the park which is opposite the hotel road. Would stay again and recommend to friends.
