Avra Airport Hotel - Rafina

Hotel staff very helpful with many issues small and large (helped us recover items we left on bus and in lobby. Also posted our postcards!). Buffet breakfast varied and delicious. Lots of noise from nearby bar on Friday night, but band excellant - as good as a night out! Right on sea front. Can get to ferries in approx 10 mins (with big bag and small children).

This hotel is fairly close to the port , walking distance in fact. The location was perfect for people who had been island hopping and were tired of carting our luggage around. We arrived in the late aftenoon after a 5 hours ferry ride. We checked in and then went out for supper , there is a restaurant close by called La Cote Restaurant , it sells great food at resonable prices. There are also ATMs close if you need to draw cash. The hotel needs to refurbish the carpets in the hallways , they are dirty and look old. Its also smells of cigarette in the coridoors. The view from the sea facing rooms is very nice and the rooms are of a decent size for two people. The shower curtain was too short and it caused a lot of water to spill when showering , which made the flooe very wet. The breakfast was decent. The hotel calleda cab for us but the cab driver was rude and i suspect he charged us more than we should have paid for the cab. A cab ride from the Airport to Athens downtown cost us 60 euro standard , Rafina is closer to the airport and we ended up paying the same amount, we were very annoyed with the cab driver as well because he was rude and was upset because we had a lot of luggage , but we did mention we were 4 girls with big luggage when we asked the hotel to request a cab for us.

Fine Hotel & great location for the Rafina Ferries but maybe €125 for a Room in the second-half of August is a little bit expensive ? I feel that €100 would better reflect the times we are living in at present with the economic downturn in Europe (& especially Ireland & Greece !)

Great sea views and near food even if arriving late; good breakfast too

This is a great place to stay if you have a morning ferry to catch. It is right by the harbor. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a nice dinner in the restaurant. The rooms are a bit small, but okay. The odd feature is a window in the bathroom that is somehow connected with the common area. If there is music or a band playing it comes right into you room.

This hotel looks a bit bland and dull from the outside and is in an isolated position right in front of the port harbour area. But once inside, it is all lovely clean and refreshing. Staff were welcoming and my room was neatly and beautifully furnished with thick curtains of a high quality fabric. Best of all was the position RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE HARBOUR with the ferries only a few hundreds yards away and also the benefit of a clean-looking sandy bay right next door. Lots of the rooms have generous balconies. This is a brilliant place to stay before or after a ferry trip and really I wished I had made my stay longer to enjoy the beach and the local restaurants. There is a regular & cheap coach service between Athena airport and Rafina harbour.

There was a party with loud music in the hotel till late (01:30 am) and street noise as the hotel is next to the beach promenade. These made sleeping difficult.

Perfect location for overnight stay prior to early morning ferry. Comfortable rooms with small balconies. Pleasant public terrace for drinks, snacks, overlooking water; helpful and pleasant staff; good breakfast included.

We were in Rafina for the first time and like most of people, I think to take a boat. Je pense que c'est un hôtel correcte pour attendre le bateau mais nous avions réservé un chambre sur mer ( donc sup) et elle était très petite avec une petite SDB avec petite douche pas très nette...

Perfect location if you want to stop over for one day in Rafina and take the ferry ship next morning. The hotel is located in front of the habour.

Modern hotel with great sea views and close to the ferries. Bit pricey but was comfortable and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. No internet access but used the internet cafe a few blocks away. Can be noisy with some "wind whistle" via the sea facing balconies if a strong gale is blowing. Happy to stay again as it's location is great in Rafina.

We enjoyed our stay even though it was very short. We had dinner in a delightful place next door overlooking the harbor. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The breakfast next morning was very good. We would stay there again and would recommend it as an alternative to staying overnight at the airport (our situation).

A big modern hotel right on the quay at Rafina. The price is steep for the quality of the hotel and is explained purely by its convenience for the ferries. The Avra is situated on the seafront between a quiet little beach and the little ferry port which is no more than a two minute stroll from the hotel. We flew in to Athens late in the evening and needed somewhere to stay overnight before taking the ferry to the Cyclades. Travelling into Athens and out again would have made the cost of a cheap hotel stay more than staying at the Avra as well as being hugely inconvenient. The only hotel at the airport is excessively expensive! So all-in-all the Avra was well worth it. we had a pleasant taxi ride to Rafina, a comfortable stay in a nice enough hotel and a leisurely breakfast and lunch in one of the tavernas on the quay. Rafina is charming though not postcard quality Greece. I would recommend.

Avra is an excellent hotel and the breakfast the best I had in Greece hotels. Maybe the sea-view room are too expensive for an hotel in a locality like Rafina but the service are all high-standard.

We stayed there for alrady 3 times, any time I have to pay a different rate - no idea how this works! We took a suite any time, so the size of the room was okay, regular rooms are quite small!

The location from airport was good. A map with specific exits from airport to gain access to correct road would be beneficial on website, especialy for non-Europeans and those not used to driving in Greece. Breakfast was good as it certainly helped justify cost of room.Hotel face ferry terminal, so great spot to jump on for access to islands.
