The location is ideal and the included breakfast extensive and tasty. For dinner the restaurant is quite good. The rooms in the front of the hotel have a great view of the zocalo but can be noisy. Enough of the staff speak English that guests not able to speak Spanish is not a problem.

the hotel staff was wonderful. when my flight out of mexico was unexpectedly cancelled, they helped me arrange a new flight. the location on the zocalo was lively, but the music stopped after 11 on the nights I was there, and sleeping was not a problem.

One can tell they have been improving this very well located small-town Bed & Breakfast, but they still have a way to go. Clean and recently painted, but the furniture and linens sure need to be changed. Very good breakfast.

Very spacious room, big and modern tv, room and bathroom were always clean, also the common areas. Big breakfast buffet was included in the stay and it was delicious. Weak point: The lady at the check-in didn't speak English at all, the valet parking is expensive in comparison to the general price level in Mexico and the price for the room. The turibus departs from the plaza right across the street in front of the hotel.

I really liked the hotel. Our rooms were on the Zocalo side, so you could here all the music and streetnoises. Which I like, but if you don´t want that, you should ask for a room on the other side. Great place to visit: Cholula

I requested a room not facing the street to avoid noise, but the actual rooms we got were awfully noisy and sharing an interior common shaft with other bathrooms and rooms. You could smell the shit from every other toilet, hear the flushing, and many loud noises from TVs, people talking etc. The breakfast was terrible, poor quality food, coffee, fruit. Ambience is not welcoming. Overall experience was TERRIBLE. Avoid this place!! It´s a rip off for what you pay.

Great hotel, but their website is crap. Fax number is wrong, no email address, they did not respond to the online form. Hotel has wireless internet, and rates include breakfast(not mentioned on website).

The location was wonderful, across the street from the zocalo and within easy walking distance to the Talavera Pottery factory. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Our room was at the front of the hotel overlooking the zocalo, and while the view was nice, it was very noisy.

Really enjoyed this hotel because it felt like it was favored by Mexicans, not only as a place to stay, but as a place to meet for dinner and drinks. The square can be noisy at night, so if you're a light sleeper, ask for a room in the back (away from the square). Huge rooms, excellent buffet breakfast and great central location.

We were impressed with the spaciousness of our room. It was clean, with 3 beds and bottled drinking water provided. The room had 2 large French windows, which opened onto tiny balconies, and overlooked the Zocalo. Being on a main street adjoining the Zocalo, we were prepared for a bit of traffic noise, and as it happened, it wasn't too bad. We only stayed one night as this was a stop-off to break a long bus journey. Our dinner, on the sidewalk eating area was good - mole poblano (had to have that in Puebla!), and the marimba band provided ambience. Staff were attentive and pleasant. Can not comment on breakfast as we had to leave early before the restaurant opened.

The clean and spacious room overlooked the pavement restaurant and plaza. Fortunately the noise stopped just before midnight, but earplugs were useful. Food in restaurant was excellent.

they let us pick our room! also saw other rooms during our stay.had a wide variety of styles & sizes.not all the same.other than no air conditoning(not needed)we were very happy! we even stayed one more day. our room had a good view of the zocalo but was a little noisey but so what.the staff seemed a little stand offish at first but probably just me? we came back a week later and stayed one more night in a different room. it was more quiet but just as nice & a little bit cheaper. we will deffinately stay there again. the buffet in the morning was decent too.(it comes with the room if you ask) nice location and good for tourist like us.they even found somebody that new how to make a bloody mary for me!had a hard time at first trying to find this hotel on the web>we saw it last year so we new it was there. thanks!

We were only there one night. It was a beautiful room. The Zocalo was somewhat noisy due to work at night. The only problem was that the beds were hard as a rock and I could not have slept in it another night.

I was alone but ended up with a room with two single beds and one double. It was still the price they had quoted for a single person. The only problem was the construction on the Zocalo, so it was a bit noisy. But that is probably a temporary problem.

The general experience was good. Noise from some neighbors, and poor ventilation in my room (it was hot, no A/C and window opened on an air shaft inside hotel)was bothersome. This was my second or third time at Hotel Royalty. I like the rooms, the attentiveness and graciousness of the staff, and its access to the Zocalo and town center. I can walk to most of what I am interested in seeing.

This was my first trip to Puebla. I thoroughly enjoyed the total experience of this hotel. I was traveling with my adult son. Our room was very spacious (3 beds). The restaurant food and service was excellent. It is ture that this hotel is a little noisey. Don't stay if you need to go to sleep early because the music outside is playing rather late. I would stay here again although I might ask for a room at the rear of the hotel. This time we were right on the street front which gave us a good view of the Zucolo and street but was also noisey.

The overall standard was very good. Our room wasn't particularly quiet, but this was due, in most part, to the Days of the Dead festivities happening in the Zocalo right outside, aswell as the sound of the marimba. The rooms on the street-side afford excellent views of the Zocalo and the Cathedral.

The room was clean and spacious. The staff was very patient with my minimal Spanish language skills and were very accomodating. The restaurant staff treated me like royalty. The location is excellent if you are seeing the city on foot. It is close to all the historical and cultural sites.

I stayed 2 nights. The staff wasn't very friendly. The concierge, the bartender, the receptionist - all, suprisingly seemed to have a chip on their shoulder. I enjoyed the room, balcony, etc.

I would like the room to have a better light to read or to put my make up. In general the ambience of the hotel is great, the music in the restaurant and it is close to the most beautiful places of Puebla.

We really enjoyed this hotel. It faces the main square which means that there is a lot of traffic noise until midnight. Closing the windows cut out the noise, but made it rather warm. The view is terrific of the cathedral and the zocalo. It is very well located in the center of the historic district. The buffet breakfast was very good and plentiful. Overall , a great value.

The hotel was very nice and in a beautiful location and aside from minor technical difficulties regarding room keys we could not have been more pleased with our room. However, aside from our busboys who were particularly pleasant, we found the managerial hotel staff much less pleasant and often unhelpful if not rude at times.

We were very pleased with our large and comfortable room, which definitely surpassed our expections. Our only complaint: a rattling door during the night due to the breeze from our open French doors/windows. The excellent full breakfast was an additional bonus. Great location right on the zocolo!

All the employees were really friendly and helpful. Everytime I had a question or needed something they tried their best to accomodate me - and quite frequently secceeded. My room was on the first floor with its own balcony overlooking Zócalo - the main square in the historic centre of Puebla. This also meant that the location of the hotel was superb.

Con saludos insatisfechos, Sissy GEORGES ----------------------------------------------- On arrival we were recieved by telling us our reservation was cancelled because we didn't give a deposit (although I had received an email accepting my credit card and saying: RESERVATION CONFIRMED serveral weeks before arrival). The acceptance of a credit card and confirming reservation when a deposit is needed and instead having a cancelled reservation and a non-recognition of fault is unacceptable! Then, the prices indicated on internet seem to be incorrect and we had to pay $50 extra for the room. Even the hotel management did nothing about it, not even a excuses nor explanations were given! The service provided was poor since we had to wait long for being attended to, although there were almost no guests in the morning and about 7 people in the kitchen and restaurant-room talking or playing with their hair on top of the breakfast-buffet and 3 people behind the front

On balance you get a slightly lesser room for the price because of the location. The room was small and drab, but quiet. Location is superb, and this is what you pay for. Had the unfortunate experience of an expenxsive camera lense being stolen from my room. While the hotel is not legally resonsible, and I do not think a member of staff was responsible, I do feel the staff were perhaps negligent in not making sure the room was locked while it was being cleaned. Management reasonably helpful.

This facility is a bit dated, but its location could not be any better. It is right on the public square and we were able to watch many festivities from our balcony.
