From the sea port, you need to take the C1 bus, or take a taxi. Procida is an island much less affected by tourism, so people including taxi drivers are more honest. The island is lovely in many ways. If you want to stay away from many bad aspects of tourism, to experience local life, I highly recommend Procida rather than Capri or Ischia. You will experience wild, loud, exciting Italian life, but you can also relax quietly. Sol Calante is a very good mid-price hotel. It has a very nice back garden where you can lie down for a sunbath. It's where you have breakfast too. The surrounding is not quiet, but is has good noise (bird singing, children playing,...). A ten minute walk will bring you to the beach where the film "Il Postino" was shot. I will definitely come back to this hotel.

Our room's air conditioner did not cool the room. We resorted to sleeping with the street-side window and the patio doors open in order to get a breeze. The staff, breakfast, and visual environment were absolutely lovely!

L'albergo è tranquillo, un po' lontano dal porto e dal centro..non tanto viste le dimensioni dell'isola. Disponibili i proprietari, molto gentili e premurosi. La pecca più grossa sono i dintorni dell'albergo non proprio "romantici"... La colazione è stata buona, soprattutto per la possibilità di farla, senza costi aggiunti, nel piacevole giardino antistante alle camere. Nel complesso è una buona sistemazione nell'isola, c'è una bella spiaggia vicino e si raggiunge quasi tutto con 20 min di cammino o con i mezzi pubblici.

The Hotel Solcalante is a small nice place and can be reached by bus(1,30€) or minitaxi ( 9€)in about 15 min.from the port. The rooms are very clean. The service is excellent, breakfast served on the private terrasse. Neptuno Restaurant is 5 min away at the cliff with a wonderful view.Quite a place to relax.

Very nice people to welcome you.The hotel is situated in a very peaceful place with a very nice garden accessible directly from the terrace of the rooms.From the garden we can have a beautiful view of the sea and admire some wonderful sunsets. The price of the rooms is very reasonable and it's important to notice that in Procida, the "family" hotels are not so numerous to be open in spring,so if you want to enjoy the smell of all the blooming orange and lemon trees so characteristic on this island,it's a good place to stay ,specially if you really like quietness.The other places of the island are easily accessible with a bus stopping almost at the door. In each room, there is small fridge where you can put your own drinks and food so that you can have some snacks at the table of your own terrace.

Franco, the man who checked us in, went miles away to show my friends and I around the island, and even took us out on the harbor in his boat. He served us breakfast on the hotel's terrace overlooking the water, and helped me search for some of my relatives from Procida. Our stay exceeded any of our expectations and I would highly recommend Solcalante...
