Hotel Corte dei Nonni - Presicce

Presicce is in the middle of nowhere and you definately need a car to stay at Corti di Nonni. We had no directions to find the bed and breakfast but luckily I speak a little Italian. Its a lovely B&B with helpful staff but there's nothing to see in Presicche. And very pricey at 100 Euro a night for being in the middle of nowhere.

The B&B is situated strategically good, 3 minutes from the main piazza in the old centre of Presicce, surrounded by some nice old palazzi (one with rose tiles). There's a pizzeria, a supermarket and a caffè-bar at the piazza. I stayed in the only single room which was pretty small but precious. I instantly felt more than "at home" due to the particular architecture (vault of stone as ceiling, old fireplace) and the loving arrangement of the room.(only disadvantage: little space for people who bring too much clothes, like me) I found it quite cosy and romantic. Unfortunately I did not relax that much on the upper floor terrace from where you could watch the starry sky, enjoying the heavenly quietness of this place. Corte dei nonni absolutely met my standard, breakfast was abundant, but dedicated to early risers: official breakfast times were from 8.00 to 10.00 a.m., but there was kind of some "bleating" when I went for breakfast at 9.30, because the chamber maid did not manage to clean all rooms in time, as she mentioned several times. Nonetheless I liked her best. So, also the young lady who prepared breakfast seemed to avoid any conversation with me, because it would have kept everybody from doing their work. Although they all were friendly, I'm quite sure that they all felt relieved when this sleepyhead chatterbox (me) finally left. That they were pressing from time to time was sort of a bad aftertaste.

Bellissima la stanza, ampia e con letto a baldacchino (molto romantica), splendida la volta a stella tipica leccese, arrdata con semplicità e gusto. Buona la colazione, anche se speravo in qualche prodotto locale in più!!! Presicce è carina anche se non troppo animata, è il punto di partenza ideale per visitare tutto l'estremo sud salentino.
