The hotel itself was quite all right. The attention was not. Very cold people, the managers. The views from the room and from the restaurant were great. No major complaint. Be prepared to climb lots of steps, but i guess most places must share that drawback, considering the background.

I was very pleased with my stay at the Villa BellaVista. We arrived in Praiano by bus as it was getting dark, and were worried that we didn't know our way around town. Thankfully the hotel was a short walk from the bus stop and we found it very easily. Our stay was great. We initially chose not to get the stay with the dinner, since we wanted to go look for a restaurant around Praiano. However since it was getting late and we had no idea where to go, we decided to stay. It couldn't have been a better choice! The view from the balcony, where dinner is served is beautiful, the house wine tasted delicious and the dinner overall was very affordable. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definetly stay there again.

Place lovely, room clean, but pillows were smashed and lumpy and hard!!! Staff was wonderful, food fabulous and fresh at dinner, but less than desirable at breakfast. The setting was gorgeous, overlooking the sea. We also had to do a lot of walking up and down steps, 700 to be exact, to get to the beach and back. I kid you not!! I counted them!!! You have to climb MANY steps just to get to the hotel too. Not very relaxing , especially with luggage in tow. Roads in the area are narrow and insane with scooters speeding around so you had to watch very carefully that you didn't get nailed by one of them, or a car for that matter. It was nice to visit the Amalfi area, but once was enough for us, for awhile, unless we could find a place with a lift or something to make it easier.

Hard to find. Generally free parking to me is near the facility. However since you have to walk and lug your luggage down 150 steps or more and the parking was on the street about 1km from the facility. A bag man was sent to help but was intoxicated, but help me find the parking. Our bags were not handled with care. Other than these issues the facility was very nice, relaxing and easily accessible (150 steps each time.)

Very convenient, central location, just steps down from the bus stop. Beautiful beach nearby. Wonderful deck for breakfast. Wish they had fresh fruit for breakfast, not canned.

Stayed here for four days in August. Weather and location excellent for exploring Amalfi Coast or just simply relaxing. Hotel is like a throw back to the 70's at times but breakfast on the balcony was fantastic. A little slow replacing towels when they were sent to be washed but overall simple rooms with fantastic views for half the price of Positano.

We had a nice stay in this hotel mainly because of the site (view over the sea) and the quietness. Service was good but not too warm (except from the owner herself). Accessibity is not easy at all. This was not evident on publicity.

A family structure very well located,in a quiet and nice environment, in the pedestrian part of Praiano city centre, near the church. A wonderful view on the sea and the Amalfitan coast. What a pleasure to have breakfast and dinner on the terrace in front of the sea! 10 minutes walk to reach the tiny and nice Gavitella beach (with bar, restaurant, taxi boat to reach Positano and beautiful blue waters). Excellent local italian food and wines with fresh food products (fish, vegetables and fruits). Balcony, fan and air conditioning in the rooms (needed even in June!). Very warm welcome from the staff, always eager to answer to your requests. We stayed only 3 days but we had the time of our life: I already advised this hotel to my relatives and my friends. One drawback: difficult to park the car and to have access to its vehicle as the private car park is not large. One suggestion: a swimming pool for the coming years?

This hotel is about 75 steps down from the road and was very difficult to locate at night. It should also be noted that the "family room" is VERY small--it has 2 beds and sleeping areas but is very small. The beach is 15 minutes from the hotel and is 432 steps down, but is nice. The staff and most of the guests at the hotel speak German, and there are very few children. I would recomend the hotel to couples but not to families.

A very pleasant hotel on the slope slightly below the town on a cliff overlooking a beautiful cove with views of islands and Positano off to the right. Quiet location away from the street (down a number of steps!). Highly recommended for a relaxing stay. The swim area is a good 10 minute walk down around 150 steps.

The owner tried to convince us to have dinner / half pension, quite offensive. The sister (?) of the owner was in a bad mood and did serve without pleasure. On the last day we asked for help in carrying up our suitcases the long stairs to the street. A young guy pushed them down the way, but denied to carry them up, no matter what. We almost started crying. We will not return, although the surrounding was great.

This is a fantastic small family run hotel. THe view from the Hotel is breathtaking with a 'private' inlet from the sea below. THe food was marvellous. We would go back to Bellavista again and again if we could.

BEWARE!! We have never before had such a stressful encounter at a hotel. The management at Villa Bellavista are complete con-artists. From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left, we were fighting--not exactly your ideal relaxing vacation. Our check-in escalated into a shouting match because we were offered a much lower-quality room after ours had been 'given away'. We secured a room (of slightly better quality) only after 10 minutes of arguing and refusing to pay an additional 100 euros for it. Many other guests also had problems (e.g. reception would only speak German to the guests, one car was damaged in the parking lot as the owner looked the other way, etc.) and some cancelled mid-stay and moved elsewhere. If you are going to stay here, clear everything over email and have copies in hand as proof when you check in (as we luckily did). Be prepared either for a fight or for being the victim of extortion.
