Excellent hotel, great views, wonderful breakfast, friendly staff. The secure car park was good. The bus stops just outside La Perla. A bigger hotel signpost would assist in finding the hotel. Also there are many steps up to reception then more steps up to room, a lift would be an asset.

La Perla is a great place to stay in Praiano. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have really great private bathrooms. Breakfast is quite good and included in the room price. One important point to note if you stay here is that you can't count on the Sita bus drivers to tell you where to get off the bus. There are multiple stops in Praiano (if you are taking the Sita bus from Sorrento,) and you don't want to get off the bus until the very last stop in Praiano. If possible, sit on the left side of the bus and then watch on the left side for the white Hotel La Perla sign. Request a stop immediately when you see it. The bus stops directly in front of La Perla, so don't get off before you see it! Our bus driver didn't know where La Perla was, so we got off the bus too early and ended up walking a long way with our bags. Also, La Perla, Praiano, and all the Amalfi coast towns have TONS of steps and are very hilly, so I think taxis would be helpful for anyone who can't do a lot of stairs. Overall, I would highly recommend La Perla!

Beautiful views of southern Italy from all rooms. Very Helpful staff. Easy to find (on main coastal road). Big rooms, our had an inside terrace, not a balcony. We had a double room, but it was two single beds pushed together. Intermittent hot water in the shower. Beautiful breakfast - fresh fruit, yoghurts, bread, croissants, tea/coffee/juice, cakes etc. Coastal bus stop at end of driveway and path to only beach in Praiano is 100m down the road. For 25euros you can have a 3-course dinner at the restaurant on the balcony or inside: amazing and fresh food. Great value and quality.

The hotel rooms were spotless, the staff friendly and accomodating. The hotel is just outside Positano and its hustle and bussle. At first impression from the rooms terraces which overlook the sea (unobstructed) we thought that perhaps there was nothing to do in the immediate area. Boy how we were wrong. La Perla is built on the hill adjacent to the main road, just cross the road towards the castle tower and head down the paved path/steps to a world you would have never thought existed. Resturants, a beach, a beautiful-romantic paved walk skirting the sea. At the base of the La Perla drive way is the bus stop that head in either direction (Amalfi/Positano)You can walk to Positano along the main road, or take the paved paths along the hillside neighborhoods. il Pirate and Traitoria Armandino's resturants along the beach and paved walk are great places to eat. You can take the Zodiac style boat taxi to Positano for more adventure. If you are reasonably fit ask the Hotel about the "Walk with the Gods" A five hour birds eye walk up high along the hillsidea to Positano. You'll love it.

Our 3 days at La Perla were a highlight of our trip to Italy. Great view of ocean from our room, breakfast balcony and rooftop. Sita bus driver did not know location of hotel and we were dropped at first bus stop in Praiano coming from Sorrento. Had to walk the last few kms to the hotel which was outside second bus stop. Hotel was great but lots of steps to get to hotel and then to room. No elevator but the view made up for it.

Hotel La Perla is situated in the perfect location overlooking the ocean and the local SITA bus stops at it's driveway. Praiano is quiet with beautiful scenery and is a short bus away from Amalfi and Positano. The family run hotel staff were very helpful and offered excellent value for money.

I haven't seen any other hotel such underrated as La Perla! From the day I booked our rooms, Maria (front desk lady) has been most helpful, answered all sorts of questions and has kept doing so during our stay there. Hotel location is wonderful, it's right in the middle of Amalfi Coast which you can easily travel by the coast bus (bus stop is right in front of the hotel). Don't think twice, it's the best place in the whole region :)

The hotel is very well furnished. It is a bit far from the center, but is just next to the bus station where SITA bus operates the Amalfi-Sorrento line. It is also very close to the beach.

Great location for day trips to Amalfi, Positano, Capri and the Praiano swim area. Vincenzo was a proud and gratious owner/host. Several local eateries drove us home after dinner. Extra added service. You must visit and meet Paolo at this studio in the stone tower directly in front of the La Perla. Very clean. We highly recommend.

Hotel La Perla was beautiful. We had a beautiful room that was very clean, it had a large window with a great view of the coast. The breakfast area had a wonderful view and was a very pleasant area to enjoy your meal. The breakfast as well was one of the best we had (lots of options and all fresh). Praiano was a cute town, however if I had the choice again I would opt for Almafi/Atrani as they are not quite as vertical. This town was quite a strenuous town to get around with all the stairs you had to climb to get anywhere. Otherwise though the hotel was very nice and the staff went out of their way to make you comfortable. For instance I had a back pain and forgot to pack ibuprofen, when we asked about the pharmacy they said it would be closed and the manager gave me a pack from his own supply. It was very kind. Oh and we ate at the La Pirata (the pirate) restaurant at the beach just across the street below Onda Verde and loved it!!

Our stay in La Perla was excellent. Very good breakfast, with excellent setup on the veranda overlooking the sea. The bus (SITA and mini-bus) stops were just in front, so you can easily get to the main area of Praiano or Amalfi/Positano even if you do not want to drive (just make sure you know the schedule).

When we were shown to our room and walked through the french doors and onto the balcony we both went "wow" - the views were panoramic. Really pleased we stayed in the relative quiet of this location. Other towns on coast easily accessible on SITA bus which stops right outside the hotel. Very friendly service, simple buffet breakfast served on outdoor terrace with fabulous views; internet, transport arranged for us to Naples. Very clean and lovely overall feel. A pleasant walk down winding paths and steps, directly across the road for swimming and restaurants - excellent variety of fresh seafood. Highly recommended.

Praiano is not really a town as such, more a cluster of hotels and residences and i had a little trouble locating the hotel on the first day. the staff were helpful, as is usually the case in italy. there is a selection of restaurants on the nearby beach and the one i dined at (la pirata) was excellent. my only reservation with la perla would be that my room was very small and the bathroom tiny. the shower was really too small to be pratical. despite this i would recommend this hotel as a low-key alternative to positano and amalfi, yet it is ideally situated between the two.

Wonderful views of Praino; roof patio accessable at all hours, a real plus; Staff wonderfully accommodating & helpful as well as helpful for the non-italian speaking; breakfast choices plentiful and staff friendly; Easy access to buses and walk to the grocery store and climb down to the beach/restaurant areas; All of the coast is a climb up or a climb down, bring good walking/hiking shoes/sneakers - beautiful views! Definitely would return to La Perla and Praino!

Fabulous hotel in a great location with superb views. Perfect for a quiet, relaxing holiday. Staff very helpful and friendly. The hotel is set in the beautiful village of Priaino with spectacular views of the Amalfi coast. The are is mountanous so be prepared for lots of steps and steep slopes. There are no beaches as such but this is more than made up for by the picturesque surroundings and the clear, calm water for swimming. The hotel was difficult to find at first on the winding coastal road, we got there in the end with the helpful directions from locals. The lack of a lift in the hotel could have been a problem with the many steps up from the car park and then up to the 2nd floor, however the hotel staff were eager to assist. The hotel was clean and freindly with ideal rooms and a great breakfast area overlooking the sea. The satalite Tv in the room provided only Italian and German programmes. I would recommend this hotel and resort, we had a thoroughly enjoyably and relaxing end to our holiday and the exertions of Paris and Rome.

We had a lovely stay at La Perla. I was a little intimidated by reports of the many stairs but upon arrival TWO staff members spontaneously came out and carried our bags. The views were amazing and both rooms had decks. Gorgeous plants all over, including well-maintained pots. The place is surrounded by olive trees. Breakfast was abundant. I asked many questions about boat & bus schedules and Vincenzo the manager was always helpful. HIGHLY recommended esp. for the price. There were many excellent restaurants down the (seemingly endless) steps and a small, friendly family-oriented beach in between the cliffs, with little restaurants where they let you change and use the bathroom. Praiano was stunning, a place I'll always remember and hope to visit again. We took a boat ride around the area one day, looking at Positano and the surrounding areas. The area is still mostly raw nature, sea and cliffs. Yet you can easily take a boat or bus to a town, sightseeing and to good restaurants. My 15-year-old son had a great time swimming and looking at crabs and sea urchins along the cliffs. We took a rather commercial yet quaint little trip to the Grotto Ismeralda (I may have spelled that wrong) which was fun. We were only there for a few days so didn't do many things, mostly relaxed on the beach, which was very welcome after a busy hot couple of weeks in July in Venice, Rome and Pompeii. This was like paradise, and staying in Praiano rather than a busier town like Positano or Amalfi seemed like the right choice. oh -- also Vincenzo speaks excellent English which made things just that much easier for a non-Italian speaker like myself.

The hotel offers a great value for money for those driving around the Amalfi Coast. There isn't much in Praiano, but it is quite convenient as a base to eplore the entire Amalfi coast. The hotel offers great views, large rooms but simple decor, staff is friendly and I didn't think there were as many steps as other comments suggested. Breakfast is a bit on the "poor" side though.

When we discovered a reservatioin error in our Rome accommodation and would have been "homeless", the La Perla staff helped to calm our anxieties and put us up a day earlier at the Amalfi coast. Once we arrived, we knew everthing was going to be quite fine! The staff was very welcoming and informative. This was my 2nd visit to the Amalfi coast. Both times I stayed in Praiano, a true respite after busy Rome. The views here are spectacular! Sitting on the the sunny, covered terrace overlooking the sea, while we ate breakfast every a.m. was a peaceful way to start each day, before taking the journey into surrounding towns - Amalfi, Positano, Capri. The bus stop is right at the driveway of La Perla and the water taxi can be taken from the beach/marina nearby. The photos online do not reflect how nice the rooms really are, we had 3 for our group of 4, and each room had its own distinct floor plan, character/charm. All rooms were very clean and comfortable! This is a lovely place to stay and enjoy glories of the Amalfi Coast ! YOu must stay here for a week to enjoy everything it has to offer! (My lower socre for quietness of the the rooms was due to a VERY noisy creature nestled in the trees across the way, and it kept me awake at night! Otherwise, it was generally quiet)

Two rooms were of a good standard the 3rd was a little smaller than expected, although clean and fresh. The breakfast area has absolutely stunning views very lovely way to start the day with a very good choice menu for breakfast.Easy access to positano and amelfi. lots of steps to get your luggage to the room. But when you have been in that area for a while you relise that steps are an every day thing. Would definely recomend this hotel to my friends.

Travelling with big luggages doesn't quite cut it if you're staying in this hotel since they don't have elevator and has concrete ramp from the bus stop.. Our room was in between the front desk and the bottom steps. It has nice views and is big and clean - the only problem we found later was it's directly below the dining area and hotel reception area partly where it gets really loud all the time (breakfast and dinner) since they have tiled floors and heavy metal tables and chairs.. So if you're sensitive to noise and easily gets distracted do not get room #219!

The hotel was a little bit hard to find and there is a steep driveway to walk up and a bunch of stairs. Otherwise, this is a great hotel. Each night I left the balcony doors open and a beautiful breeze of the sea swept through the room. The views are fantastic and the breakfast was nice. The view from the breakfast terrace was unbeleivable. The only downfall for this hotel is the steps to get to the hotel also, it resides about 500 to 600 feet above the sea and beaches so its a heck of a walk down all the steps to get to the beach.

Nice B&B but Praiano is a horrible place to stay. It's all by the side of the busy road, no activities and not particularly clean. Put this hotel in Positano or Amalfi and you'd pay twice as much. Obviously, the hotel is a short hop by bus or car to all other towns, so you avoid wasting time on long treks. But the hotel is very nice, high up by the road. Not for those who have a mobility problem. No elevators and multiple floors. So plan on light luggage because there's no staff to help bring it up to the room.

La Perla è situato in una posizione da sogno. E' difficile alzarsi dopo la prima colazione consumata in terrazza perchè il panorama ti affascina. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a room with a balcony overlooking the water. What a fantastic view it was! We enjoyed our stay at La Perla - it was very quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was served in the restaurant with amazing views overlooking the water. The breakfast was OK, although the coffee was terrible - served from an automatic coffee machine. If you need a decent cappucino you will need to go into Positano or Amalfi. At first impressions it looks like there is not much to Praiano. However, take a walk down the side of the cliff towards the water and there is a nice little beach and about 5 restaurants. Praiano is a great place to be based at to visit some of the towns along the Amalfi Coast - it is about an hour to Ravello and only a few minutes to Positano. One thing to watch out for is that the car park gates automatically close late at night. So, you don't actually have a lot of time to get out of your car to leave the carpark. I got locked in the carpark at midnight as there was no button inside the carpark to open the gates, and had to wait for some time before a passerby could help me. My complaints to hotel staff about this were dealt with in a non-caring way. Apart from the carpark incident, we really enjoyed our two days at La Perla.

Praiano is an excellent location between Positano and Amalfi - quieter, good bus service to both towns and beyond at the door, great views and with the sea right across the road (albeit down many steps). I was the first time in La Perla. It was a nice time I spent there. To sit on the balcony having breakfast and looking to the sea was a very good holiday feeling. La Perla is a great find and I'm glad I listened to other reviews on venere.com that raved about it. Something that would help is to let people know that the SITA bus stops right outside the hotel. When you're arriving the first time from Sorrento, this is one of the later stops in Praiano. Keep an eye out for the Open Gate Restaurant on the left and once you see the Hotel Continental on the right, hit the bell. La Perla and Hotel Onda Verde share a stop right after the Hotel Continental. The restaurant at the hotel only offers a set meal menu for 22 euros. It's not bad value, but it's not somewhere you'd eat every night. The breakfast is generous and yummy, but the coffee, surprisingly, is disappointing. The rooms were very very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We were upgraded at no charge and the staff was very helpful. The view was spectacular. It really has a great spot, even compared to the rest of Praiano. A short walk up the street reveals other options for restaurants. Take a flashlight so motorists can see you-just wait til you see the Amalfi Coast road!! I'd highly recommend this hotel.

Only drawback was the difficulty in going for walks due to the location and narrowness of the road. Parking was adequate, and bus availability was good.

A more local map of the area would have been helpful to find the hotel. There was a swimming area in the sea across the road, which was great and should be included in the information, it was a real plus.

At first sight traffic on the road ,carparking, and steps might seem a bit offputting. Don't be. This Hotel is a delight to stay at .The rooms and terrace are peaceful, the breakfast is the excellent, served overlooking the bay.TV has CNN and BBC World. The cove is small but good for swimming and with a selection of restaurants ,boating and fishing possibilities. There are lovely walks from the hotel albeit with lots of ups and downs! Public transport makes going to the larger resorts carefree. Last but not least it is very reasonably priced compared to elsewhere in the area.

This hotel has a beautiful location with a breakfast terrace overlooking the Amalfi coast. The view is amazing! The rooms are immaculate and freshly painted. Vincenzo and Claudia on the front desk are very helpful, friendly and will provide any assistance needed. We had booked one week but stayed for two! If you do not have your own transport you are a 20 min walk from Praiano centre along a busy road. There is a local bus service which provides easy access to the village, as well as Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento. The journey along the coastline, around the tight cliff bends, is not for the faint-hearted. You also need to be fairly fit to negotiate the steps down to the sea (and the wonderful Pirate restaurant, Hi Vera!) as well as the climb up to your room but it is well worth the effort, a case of instant gratification!

La Perla was excellent: immaculate, friendly, spacious, and excellent public areas (large breakfast patio with spectactular vistas). It is well located on the Amalfi Coast and right by a bus stop that serves the entire region. We very much enjoyed Praiano. It was quaint, quiet & beautiful. We easily traveled the coast to Positano, Ravello and Amalfi, etc., but were always glad to return to the serenity of Praiano (at La Perla). Although La Perla has an excellent and bountiful complementary breakfast, there are much better restaurants for dinner just "steps" away. (Try Cafe Paradise on the cliff in front of the hotel, just 25 meters west...!) The hotel is air conditioned and every room has a balcony and TV. Also, the hotel can arrange all excursions. They maintain an updated activities binder and give out various maps and schedules---very helpful.

We loved this hotel! We had booked for 7 nights but extended to 10. The breakfasts were good and plentiful and the evening meals, whilst the choice was limited to three or four were extremely well prepared and extremely good value for money. There are also plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. The staff were wonderful and so helpful. It was a delight to return to the hotel after the noise and bustle of a busy day. We shall definately be returning.

Hotel La Perla provided an excellent base for our 5 day trip to the Amalfi coast and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. The service was first class and breakfast on the terrace every morning overlooking the Mediterranean was a fantastic way to start the day. We had a hire car to reach Praiano but utilised the bus (1 euro one way) to reach Positana and Amalfi. Praiano is a conveniently located and a peaceful calm at the end of the day after the tourist hustle and bustle of either Amalfi or Positano.

We loved our stay at the La Perla - it is a small family owned hotel with magnificent views. The hotel is clean, staff are friendly and helpful. Pariano is a perfect location to visit the Amalfi coast. We would strongly recommend this hotel.

La Perla is an amazing hotel. The entire staff is very accommodating and extremely friendly. The owner of the hotel takes pride in making sure your stay is a pleasant one. The breakfast (which is included) was very satisfying (fruit, coffee, cereal, and pastries). The area of Praiano is breathtaking and I would recommend it to anyone who desires to stay near Positano and Almafi (you’ll save money by staying in Praiano and you are very close to those two cities). I stayed in Italy for 15 days and visited various cities and stayed in several hotels and La Perla was my favorite hotel, by far. Thank you for the great service and I will definitely stay again.

It's hard to beat the combination of price and location the Hotel La Perla offers. It is smack dab in the middle of the beautiful Amalfi coast, many of the rooms have great coast views, and the personnel at the hotel are as good as it gets. The public parts of the hotel are nice, the dining area outside affording perfect views of the sea, and the individual rooms are big. The only two things about the hotel that jarred were, first, the furniture in our room, and second, the noisy staircase up to the rooms. The staircase was a fine-looking marble, but guests could easily make a terrible racket getting to their rooms. And although our room was spacious and had a great view from its balcony, the bed was curiously low, the two chairs in the room had plastic over their upholstery, and there was only one rather disappointing picture on the wall. But these are small complaints about a place we would return to in a minute just for the views alone.

Wonderful! We extended our stay from 3 days to 8. Staff v. friendly and helpful in every respect. Rooms clean, spacious, included fridge & safe. Free off-road parking. Praiano is lovely & unspoiled; in neighbouring Amalfi & Positano we felt that they just wanted to strip you of every tourist euro, but people in Priano were very friendly. Perfect base for hiking & day trips. Restaurant isn't all that it ought to be (although still not bad for 22 euros), so don't eat in every night. There are a couple of very nice restaurants in town, e.g. La Pirata down at the beach (a short & lovely walk from the hotel). Steep entrance ramp & stairs. Hotel's web page doesn't give useful info for finding it: a map would be better than a photo! It's about 1 km east of town, on the main coast road, opposite Hotel Onde Verde and an old watchtower.

A rooster crowed all night and the help had loud outdoor conversations 24 hrs a day. The overall food and cleanliness was fine, but the staff spoke almost no English. We had to check after one night because my husband could not manage the numerous steep stairs and the very steep driveway. This is definitely a site for young lovers of high altitude.

The walk up the hill to the hotel is a pain when you have bags but other than that it is a luvly hotel, a bit of a walk out of town but perfect if u want a quiet few days. Praiano is a much better bet than Positano.

My wife and I arrived at Hotel La Perla on a Sunday evening and received a good welcome and were pleasantly supprised at how easy it was to find the Hotel. The room did not have a balcony, as we had a standard room, only superior rooms have balconies (this was not exlained on the website). However the hotel is extremely well presented and in a fabulous location. Buses to all locations stop right outside and in general the noise levels were very low. Most of the staff spoke very good english and that enabled us to fully enjoy our stay. The fixed price menu in the evning in the Hotel restaurant is very good, as is the breakfast buffet. We would return to this Hotel and, in fact, we will be next year.

We spent a wonderful week at La Perla. There are stunning views of the cliffs and sea from the hotel. It is an efficently run establishment with friendly staff. Our room was cleaned daily and I was really impressed by the little extras, such as fresh flowers on the dressing table. Breakfast, which was included in the price, was good with a great variety of food to choose from. I will definitely return to Praiano and La Perla.

Firstly i hope you are all great drivers, as the drive from Naples airport to the hotel takes a good 90 mins and the second half is along very narrow roads that follow the coast. Beautiful if you can take your eyes away from the Italian driver coming straight at you. The hotel itself is easy to find and very pretty. The rooms are extremely clean and bathrooms new, certainly in our room. we had a fantastic view out over the sea on our balcony so make sure you ask for a sea view. Just down from the hotel is a couple of restaurants that have great views where you can hire chairs to sunbathe and of course eat and drink as you desrire. We enjoyed our stay very much. Our only piece of advice would be that for us a week was enough because its quite around the village, only few places to eat but if you want some night life and lots of choice then you need to travel 25 mins in either direction to Almafi or Positanio, both of which are much bigger, lots of restaurants but on the down side touristic.

A little bit dated decor wise, but overall very clean, tidy and excellent value, and a view to die for from the breakfast tables. As with most places around here though you need sturdy legs to manage the stairs in and around the property (no lift)
