We were blown away. The location, the view, the beach, everything was incredible. When we arrived we were instantly greeted and welcomed. We loved the place and all the sitting places with views. It is just as it should be! Things are laid back but that is how a true vacation should be. I found it charming and I found the staff charming. I love how they are dressed in official waiter suits (the poor things is was 100 degrees). Reviews said 'old fashioned' I say "just perfect"! Thank you hotel tritone for having this incredible property and for giving us a piece of heaven on earth - we will never forget it.

Ideal location - close to, but not in, Positano (nor really in Praiano, for that matter). Amazing views in both directions. Rooms were clean; staff was friendly - bartender Antonio was the best! Elevators to private beach - worth every penny. Breakfast and lunch were good. Dinner menu could use updating/improvement. Overall, very pleased, and would stay there again.

The hotel setting is spectacular. Quite amazing really & well worth the stay. We unfortunately stayed there on the last 2 nights the hotel was open for the season so the quality of the services & amenities were compromised eg pool not open, meals werent up to standard etc. Staff were very good though

One of the most amazing Hotels we've ever stayed in. It is literally built into the side of a cliff! Gorgeous setting and amazing view. We would come back here in a heartbeat! Must add...we had a car and what a drive from Sorrento...fabulous!!!!

We stayed in a junior suite and it was fantastic, as was the staff, the food (although we only at there twice) and the setting. Anyone going to the Amalfi area would do well to stay in this marvelous hotel. We certainly would stay there again!

So glad we chose the Tritone location between Positano and Praiano as it affords much easier parking and less congested feeling than other hotel properties in those nearby towns. Room amenities and view were better than promised - just drop-dead gorgeous. It's a lovely hotel built into the side of a rocky cliff, maintained beautifully and with obvious care...pretty painted tile floors and bathroom, spacious balcony/terrace and living area in the junior suite, charming small public alcoves and niches scattered throughout the hotel, all with good views, flowers and vines growing everywhere and maintained well. Good recommendations from the front desk for local restaurants and shops. Dining room staff were impeccable although the food was just average. The entire time we were there, it felt like we were in a different era of old world elegance and comfort. Only caution: although there are elevators throughout, often one has to walk a short flight of stairs either just after or before the elevator ride...so this is not for anyone with mobility problems. Our stay was perfect, though, and we will definitely return.

The location and facilities were outstanding. The restaraunt was disappointing for such a beautiful location. The staff was friendly but not at all proactive. For example, when asked if there was shuttle service to Pasitiano, answer was just no. You had to know to ask if there was bus service (yes), then had to ask if they had a bus schedule (yes). No notebook of information about the hotel or area in the rooms.

My only complaint is that the staff was less than helpful with our luggage when we were trying to check out. 2 different hotel employees sat and watched me as I struggled to carry my 52lb suitcase up an entire flight of stairs.

This hotel was really special. We enjoyed our five nights and also being looked after by the staff. We ate in the hotel restaurant, which overlooks the sea, every evening. The meals were great and the cost extremely reasonable. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from Praiano and there are buses every 30 minutes for any day trips into Positano. Must admit that we were so pleased not to be staying in the very busy Positano. The hotel has a lift that takes you down to their private beach as well as a lovely pool at the hotel up the cliff. You can really just sit back and unwind and enjoy the view and the hotel. It really was worth the money and was the highlight of our three week visit to Italy.
