Ventana Hotel Prague - Prague

Though this hotel is not so gorgeous, the location is excellent. We used this hotel for the second time. Traveler will be glad if courtesy car service is provided between Prague railway station and this hotel to avoid exorbitant taxi price.

I recommend this hotel for its comfort, the competence of the employees and its perfect location close to the center of the old town of the city of Prague. The bathroom was big with heated marble floors and a big tub/shower. The breakfast was big with fruits, cereals, breads, hot fresh croissants and pastries, sausages, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, cheeses and various juices.

This is a beautiful hotel with furnishings that are not equal to the overall building and design, nor the 5 star rating. I don't understand how they get a five star rating without a restaurant. That being said, they definitely have five star service, the front desk is wonderful, as are the bartenders. Our room had a bedroom in a loft which had nowhere to hang clothes and no room to move around, and it was awful to have to go to the restroom in the middle of the night, I fell down the stairs in the dark. I would say this is a four star hotel with five star service.

It is little bit expensive but it is worth while to stay. The duplex was very very spacious, clean and buatifully decorated. Breakfast was fabuluous. The location was excellant, just aruoud the corner of old town squre. Hotel staff was very helpful and kind too.

The Hotel Ventana is a wonderful location, just 1 block off of the Old Town Square by Tyn Church. You are in the heart of the action but the Hotel is very quiet. The staff is extemely helpful giving directions to the subway, arranging tours, arranging airport transfers. This is truly a first class operation and the staff was very well trained. Our room was spacious and well laid out, functional, and very clean. I would recommend arranging city tours or day trips outside Prague through the hotels provider, which will pick you up at the hotel. They provided a much better tour for your money than the tour companies that operate out of booths around the Town Square.

Fantastic hotel,fantastic location, our room was huge, staff were great, surroundings offered many options for food drink and supplies. Perfect.

It is not a 4 stars hotel. Just a 3 stars one. Carpets in the room was not clean (need to be changed), bathroom equipments were just at a 3 stars level and furnitures were old.

The Ventana is vey well situated, and its rooms are comfortable, recently renovated, and well sound-proofed. The twin beds could be a bit larger but overall quality is very good. The breakfast was fabulous and service generally good...although the front desk did not give us the wake-up all we asked for. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again and recommend it with enthusiasm.

The hotel, staff, services and surroundings was excellent! We will definitly stay there the next time we're in Prague also.

The greatest thing about this hotel is its location. It's about 20 steps to the Old Town Square and right beside the Tyn Church. We spent 5 nights and booked a great rate from Venere which, combined with the 4% discount code brought our rate to 94 Euro per night in the bigger deluxe rooms. The hotel is not drop-dead gorgeous, but it is high quality with some modern touches like the glass/chrome elevator that goes through the middle of the stone spiral staircase. Our room was big and quiet with two big windows and lots of closet storage space. The bed was 2 doubles joined to make a King which was OK, but I'd rather have just 1 big mattress. The bathroom was big with heated marble floors and a big tub/shower. The breakfast was big with fruits, cereals, breads, hot fresh croissants and pastries, sausages, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, cheeses and various juices including champagne. It started at 7:30 and went on until around 11:00 - plenty of time to grab something to eat. All of the workers we encountered were very nice and spoke several languages including perfect English. We booked a tour to Terezin through the front desk. For 2 adults + 2 students the price was around 4200 CZK...I think that may have been a little steep. We used Prague Airport Shuttle http://www.prague-airport-shuttle.com to/from the airport. We later found that they also do tours to Terezin and other places. Our driver from the hotel back to the airport was actually the owner who is a transplanted American and very nice. This makes our 2nd trip to Prague and both times we've used this service. We had a huge safe where we stored our passports, credit cards, laptop. It was big enough to accomodate everything. We actually left a few Crowns lying around the room, but none were ever taken.

Great hotel in a perfect location

We stayed in a loft room which was wonderful. The extra space was the perfect thing since we were traveling with our 3 year-old. Outstanding location.

Reception staff exceptionally helpful, well equipped rooms, excellent continental breakfast. Ideal location in the centre of the old town but in a quiet enclave.

My first visit to Praha.Ventara is a very nice hotel only 100 meters from Stare Mesto. I can recommend De-Luxe double rom.

Excelent location, very,very good service, employees are very friendly, they give all the information that tourist needs. Breakfast was good and especially I liked the view from our window. Excelent hotel, with excelent staff!!!

An excellent, comfortable, well-positioned hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff. Only two quibbles. First, our "double" bed was in fact two singles with single duvets. We discovered too late to know whether it could have been changed. Second, the coffee at breakfast was nearly undrinkable, but since this seemed to be true throughout Prague we won't blame the hotel! (breakfast otherwise was good with excellent fresh bread and fruit.

Lovely hotel, splendid service, wonderful breakfast, and superb location. You cannot do better than staying here. Our ages varied from 30 to 70, and we all loved our stay. Would recommend this hotel unstintingly.

High quality and perfect location.

My wife and I both like this hotel very much. It is very convenient, extremely close to Old Town areas. Everything is within walking distance. But when going back to the room, it is quite and personal. The room is very spacious. The breakfast is excellent, with choices of cereals, pastries, and fruits. Definitely will recommend to anyone who is going to Prague.

An outstanding hotel with lovely, helpful staff, incredibly prompt service, and a familial feel. We would recommend this hotel unconditionally. Superb location, splendid rooms, ample and delicious breakfast and a highly original (in the wonderful sense) elevator. It was a perfect stay.

Fantastic location, lovely room (we had a deluxe double which was enormous had and a view of the old town hall from the window), friendly service, nice breakfast. We got them to arrange the pick up from the airport which was also fine. Couldn't fault it.

Our room was huge and beautifully furnished, service excellent, breakfast lavish, staff very friendly and helpful, location couldn't be more central but still quiet. Wonderful value for money.

A good hotel and excellent location but ... Unfortunately we were allocated an 'attic' romm with a steep stairway from a sitting area to the bedroom As older people we would prefer not to have accomodation on two floors and no view or natural light apart from skylights. We paid for a superior room and this was certainly not superior for us. The room would suit people staying with children who need two sleeping areas but it is entirely unsuitable for older couples. I also wonder why hotels who receive significant numbers of guests from the UK have only US news channels. Prague is a delightful city, full of interest and culture and we will return again and to this hotel if we could have a superior room with a view!

I loved the hotel, the room was spacious and nicely decorated. The only niggle I have is that our room was only half-cleaned after our first night; the bed wasn't made, the sink wasn't cleaned, but a chocolate was still left by the bed, and the bins were emptied, which seemed a bit odd. At these relatively expensive prices, I expected more. The breakfast was good, and the dining room very pleasant and a nice place to have a drink in the evening. The bar man recommended us some books to look at from the bookshelves and the service in the bar was very good. All the reception staff spoke excellent english and were very helpful.

Great Hotel, I really enjoyed staying with them

You can not beat the location of this Hotel. If I went back I would have the Hotel car service meet me at the trian station. I loved the free internet access in the room, it came in handy to look at train schedules and etc. We had a basic room, not the loft and it was still plenty of room. Nice touch with the heated bathroom floor. The breakfast was very good; fruits, juices, eggs, meats and many more items. Only wish I could have had a hotel like this for the rest of the cities I visited. Enjoy! Jimmie

Excellent location, next to the main square of the tower clock, view on Tyn's Cathedral. Lovely rooms, especially those on the 5th floor, with double floors and terrace. Good service. Wonderful breakfast. Be aware of the lift...it seems to be a little bit old... Don't try to reach the hotel by car...it's impossible: leave your car near Powder Tower and ask the concierge to park it for you.

One of the best places to stay in Prague. Right off the most beautiful square in the city.

The location of the hotel couldn't be better. The staff is really kind, from the nice desk clerk Richard to all the restaurant team and the housekeeping. Always aware of what could we need, they maked us feel great. Worth every dollar that we spent there. The rooms are spacious and inmaculate. Definitely I will stay here in the next visit to Prague.

Location is first rate, rooms and baths are large and well appointed. Service excellent. Wonderful breakfast, great restaurants near by. Prime location near the Market Square but very quiet. Truly a superior hotel in every respect. Excellent value. We would return to Ventana (and Prague!) at any opportunity.

A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxed stay. The staff at Ventana are highly professional and welcoming. The rooms are large, warm and very comfortable. The location is one of the best in Prague and you can walk to numerous restaurants and cafes within 5 to 10 mins. Most of the major sight seeing is accessible on foot from the hotel and I would recommend the Estates Theatre for an evening event, about 5 mins walk away and the Tyn church next door. Breakfast was always an event to look forward to, with a glass of bohemian sparking for those who wished. The bar prices are also very acceptable. We also used the hotel taxi service there and back. I’m sure there are cheaper ways to get to the hotel, though who wants the hassle on arrival and departure. They whisk you straight to the hotel in comfort and style and then you can get onto the serious business, enjoying Prague! I’d especially like to thanks the hotel for making my wife’s birthday, a day to remember. A very special touch.

Excellent location * well furnished and large room

My husband and I thouroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ventana in January. The hotel was perfectly located and the staff were very helpful. Great apple strudel too! On our final day in Prague, we were due to fly out at midnight. The Ventana allowed us to delay our checkout until 9 P.M. without any extra charges.

Fantastic on all fronts. Staff went out of their way to return (across borders) precious jewel left behind. Only drawback: marvellous surroundings. Would have liked to have more time to enjoy actual hotel! Will return.

Fantastic hotel! So much for the people being sombre,we met great ,friendly people everywhere.Especially fabulous was Michaela at breakfast in the hotel. She's reason enough to recommend this hotel. Great location. Great hotel. We got a free upgrade to a split level suite, and the room was fantastic. Would happily stay here again. A real find.

I went with my boyfriend and we loved every minute of it the staff were so friendly.the rooms are gorgeoous, we had a split level room with balcony it exceeded our expectations. the surroundings were lovely not too far from the shops, in the middle of everything.

We spent two nights at is excellent value hotel. Location, atmosphere, breakfast, friendliness and professionality were superb. Good selection of books in the library. Public spaces are commensurate to the number of rooms. Definitely recommended for a leasure stay.

I booked the Ventana based on previous visitors' comments and I was not misled. The rooms are modern, elegant, well equipped and spacious, the location excellent and the staff friendly and well-trained. The included breakfast was very impressive and it was delightful starting each day with some Czech "champagne" and orange juice, a lovely touch. The library and bar "specials" make a pleasant end to a long day of walking over the city especially for a single female. The hotel only lacks a restaurant but there are many very close-by at every price level. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and considered it great value for money.

1st visit to Prague. Hotel right in the heart of the town. perfect for all facilities everything in walking distance, though you need decent shoes to cope with the cobbles. Avoid group walking tours, especially around the castle, Loretta and chuches, they are oversubscribed!

Location could have not been better! On the old town square - make sure to be there on a Sunday to enjoy the market - Incredible music all over - try the WOW THeatre down the street- fun black light theatre. Food was great - Service was great Be careful if you have a problem with steps - the rooms on the 4th floor often have steps to the bedroom - for us that did not work - and we were graciously moved - Only major problem was we had a car - the maze of Prague with one way and pedestrian streets made getting to the hotel truly for us impossible - I ended up walking the last 4 blocks and the porter came and got the car and drove it to the hotel - Service again was awesome - Worth every cent

The hotel was one of the best we have stayed at. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The location was second to none with fantastic views of the old town square. We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and we were given a free upgrade to a loft suite. I would recommend getting lost in the streets of the old town as we found some amazing little back street restaurants we had a 3 course meal with 4 glasses of wine each for approx £22. One restaurant that came highly recommended by the hotel was in the old Tower the restaurant is set on 2 floors of an old beld tower - the bell is still in place in the centre of the restaurant. A wonderful city and an excellent hotel we would thoroughly recommend it.

The only reason I rated all categories of the property 10 is that there isn't anything higher. Great location, great people, great room, great breakfast.

I take couple of trips to Europe a year and pay a range of EURO 150-650 a night, depending on where and the occasion of the trips. This hotel is the best deal of the year.

A small, exquisite hotel in an excellent location, next to "Old Town" square. Rooms, employees, breakfast (included in price) all exzceeded our expectation. Wouls stay again, without question.

I had the good fortune to have to find an alternative to the preferred company hotel as it was fully booked.What a lovely find the Ventana was. Excellently situated,gorgeous rooms and a friendly attentive service provided by all. Will certainly return given the chance!

I was a bit apprehensive when I booked the Ventana on Venere because I hadn't seen any references to the hotel on any other booking service or in any guide books. I chose the Ventana because of the positive reviews from other users, because it was relatively new, and the location sounded ideal. My choice was perfect. If you are going to Prague, the Ventana is the ONLY place to stay. The hotel is wonderful, so clean and sparkling,the staff are unbelievably attentive, and breakfast is terrific. If I am ever lucky enough to return to Prague (a wonderful city), I wouldn't consider staying any place but the Ventana. Thank you, Venere and Ventana, for a great trip.

Staff very friendly. Hotel seems to be newly refurbished. My room was under the roof on two levels with a steep stair between them. Windows showing mainly the sky only. Inside very comfortable and furnished to the latest standards. Beautiful bathroom. Location of the hotel could not be better a few steps from central square and tourist sites yet very quiet. Excellent breakfast buffet. To be recommended.

This is our second time booking though Venere.com; both times have been excellent. Hotel Ventana Prague, is in an excellent location just off the Old Town Square in a beautiful building. Our De-Lux room was on the 4th floor with a living space, sofa, TV, minibar and free internet access (if you've got a laptop); the stairs go up to a balconied bedroom which look over the living area. The bathroom was large with a heated floor and glamorous lighting although generally, the fourth floor rooms have no real views - just skylights. The hotel is very modern, comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated which makes it feel very luxurious. We felt the breakfast buffet was very good with plenty of toast, croissants, juices, cold meats (!) and cereals etc. Prague generally is known for rip off taxi drivers so we arranged airport tranport through the hotel. They do add 19% to the cost of the taxi but is well worth it as it avoids awkward negotiations on arrival at the airport (so thats about £4 EXTRA each way)we figured that if were were going to be overcharged, best give it to the pleasant hotel staff instead of a street cabbie. The taxi is infact a small limo which is new, clean and very smart. We were thrilled with the hotel as well as Prague and we will definately return to both - and book through Venere.com

Best place for a romantic week-end in Prague.

This hotel was excellent. From the heated bathroom floors to the excellent service we enjoyed staying here a lot. The breakfast was very good and when we asked for pancakes they were made even though they were not officially available. Also, you cannot find a better location in the old town. Staying here was an excellent experience. Highly recommended.

I have nothing bad top say about this hotel. The breakfast was amazing, the rooms were beautiful, the service was fast and accomodating. They even had champaign and strawberries for breakfast. Nice touch.

Anything else, located in the very heart of the beautiful old district! With good breakfast, friendly and capable staff, we definitly stay this hotel next time.

This was one of the nicest rooms we've ever stayed in both in terms of appearance and location. We had a spacious suite, with high ceilings and double paned windows that opened out with a view of the Old Town Square. The bathroom was large and well-appointed, and the furnishing were comfortably contemporary. Breakfast offerings included breads, fruits, cold meats, eggs, and yogurt served in a comfortable paneled "library." The front desk people were polite, but as seemed to be the case everywhere in Prague, provided what was required but nothing more. Nevertheless, I would heartily recommend this hotel, still an undiscovered gem as its fairly new. Unlike the rest of the hotels crowding the Old Town, this one, set back about 50 yards, was quiet, felt empty, and was like an elegant oasis welcoming us home.
