I appreciated your residence is run by very friendly young people speaking good english. I think the relation between quality and price is the best foundable in all Prague. My friends I talk to about your Hotel hardly believe we paid so little being in the center. I will warmly recommend you to anyone, specially to young people.Thank you again

The room was not so cheap, I payed 67!!!euros for the first night so I was expecting a decent room. In the bathroom there was dirt (like 3 table spoons of dust) in one of the angles and I have doubts that the toilet was cleaned. On the table there were some rest of biscuits, same on the chair. The floor was full with dots of dirt, I wouldn't have dared to walk with bare foot. The walls had a bit of mildew and the room smelled musty, same as the bad and the very old towels. The first night (Saturday) my neighbors had a party untill 6am and every night there was something going on, so I didn't really sleep much. It was the worst experience I ever had in hotel/residence. I would not recommend this place to anyone, I am sure you can find much more better conditions for the price. Also, the wi-fi was not working or it was extremely slow during my stay there, I had to go to Starbucks to send my e-mails. If I have to think about something positive, I can say that the personnel was friendly, nice and helpful and they all speak good English, the position of the residence is central, very good position to visit the city and to take the metro, tram etc or to go out eating...

When we arrived they had a problem caused by an on-going construction works, so they have apologised and informed that we have been rebooked to a better hotel. the hotel they offerred us was very nice - new and spacious, however, did not have internet connection, so we had to return to Residence Bene and ask for a different solution. We really apreciate all their efforts and willingness to help. I should also mention how professional, friendly and helful was the reception staff and the manager himself. HOwever, I think it would really help improve the quality if they paid more attention to cleaning of the rooms and the breakfast. Overall, it was ok.

Residence Bene is simple hotel, but at wonderful place. So, if you came to Prague in order to spend all the time at the Hotel - don't go there, there is nothing to do there. But if you want to walk at old Prague - it's best place to stay according to low price and very close location to Staromestske square. As You could read in previous reviews - very harsh towels. On the mirror in the bathroom is a note that the towels are being replaced once in three days. So, take towels with You. The construction works surrounding the hotel will be finished at November, 2010 - so was written on the board that surrounds the construction area.

The hotel was great. It's situated in the city center, 7min walking from the main square which is great. The staff was welcoming and very helpful. The receptionist provided all kind of information about the city and its monuments. Our room was fully equipped (TV, microwave, fridge, kettle, hairdryer, safe, telephone) and had a private bathroom, everything modern. The breakfast was really tasty: there was a wide choice of food and beverages. The photos of the hotel are not updated, I think. To sum up, I would highly recommend this hotel :). I've spent there a really great time.

Residence Bene is perfect place for anyone who is in Prague for couple of days and does not want to waste time for going to and out of centre, not looking for superior hotel and not spending days in the room. If you need it only for overnight and breakfast - it is really perfect

Renovation works were done outside the building which generates a significant noise from 7:00. After complaining to the manager that this is not acceptable he transferred me to a bigger room but I had the same noise problems but with a nicer and bigger room. The hotel is located in a very good location in the Old City and but the renovation works noises are a problem if you want to get a decent sleep.

Good location. Prague is really beautiful. Our baggage did not arrive in our flight and next morning I asked the ladies at Reception to phone Czech Airlines for information. They were very kind, called them and managed to give me the expected information. In the afternoon they announced us good news: our bagagge was expecting for us in our room

It was the fisrt time I were in the hotel and I found it very nice. It is spacious, centric and cheap. Breakfast is not the best, but it has a 24 hours supermarket across the street. Rooms are clean and very very big, with refrigerator, microwave, cutlery, and a place for washing it. Ii is a very centric place, about 10 minutes from every interesting place. It has a bar at the side. And gives you privacy because they give you the main entrance key.

The hotel is very well located, the room is spacious and well equiped. Basically the only problem was the works inside and outside the building. The lift isn't working, the wifi in the rooms is turned off during this period and noise begins at around 7:30am. Anyway, if you wake up early and don't plan to stay in the hotel during the day, it's a great value for money, as the rates are definitely very low for the quality of the rooms and central location.

There were construction works on a building just next to the hotel, so we were waken up at 7 in the morning 2 days out of the 3 of our stay. It's not the fault of the hotel, but it was very unpleasant. We would have chosen another hotel if we had been warned. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was allright and the breakfast was good. Quality/price ratio is good.

Just as many people here have said that the outside of the hotel is horrible, we were prepared for the worst. Though the outside indeed deserves an uplift, the rooms inside are very decent. This is a budget accommodation, but the rooms have so many more things that will surprise you - tables, chairs, bread toaster, fridge, vessels, spoons etc. The breakfast was included in the cost and was excellent. The hotel is right inside the city center and we didn't need to buy a subway pass. Everything was walkable. The staff was very helpful and knew English. They let us stay for a good 4 hours after our check-out time since one of our group members fell ill. They also helped us in planning the day in the city. In all, this is a hotel definitely worth the money if you are looking for budget accommodation in the center of the city.

Perfect location! Nice, helpful and friendly staff. Heard some noise from the street at night, but not enought to lose our sleep. Good breakfast. Not quite happy with the dust and dirt in the rooms (we had 3 rooms total) when checking in, but that was taken care of immedeately when the staff were told. Yes, we could defenately stay at the Residence Bene again.

Perfect location in the heart of Stare Mesto. Lively, safe surroundings(lots of students), an interesting club and a pleasant cafe next door. 3 min walk to a tram station. Sleep undisturbed (our room was on the third floor with windows out into the nondescript courdyard), large modern bathroom with invariably hot water. Standard breakfast fare. Price a bit steep but I wouldn't expect anything cheaper in Stare Mesto. Would definitely stay here again.

We are a young couple travelled to Prague for holiday stayed in Residence Bene. The room we got was exceptionally large, we were surprised when we walked in the room. Even though, its a room face to the street but we didn't had problem to sleep. The location is great too,5mins you are in the old town square. Also, the free internet with computer down in the reception area is a definitely plus. The breakfast was nice as well,a good selection. The only two things I want to say is that, the towels are exceptionally hard, the color is wired too.Its not white, probable because with this color you don't really notice wthether its clean or not.Two is the curtain is too thing and not the right size for the window. I have to use my hair clip to fix the curtain at the night so that it won't be open in the middle. But,overall, I am satisified with the place.I think I don't mind return in the future.

When the taxi dropped us off at the hotel my family was surprised in a bad way, since the hotel looks very plain. The entrance is narrow and not impressive at all, but the family room was nice and spacious. Breakfast was served on the 6th floor and it was pretty good. There was construction going on very early in the morning on the street, which woke us up on weekdays. The hotel is very well located and very close to many attractions. The staff was nice and eager to help. Our overall experience ended up being good after all.

Great location. Short walk to old city center and all sites. Hotel is adequate for sleeping and the room was very large (seemed like an old apartment) but it is not well appointed and a little old. Breakfast was sparse. Cheese and ham, toasted on some bread and 2 or 3 cereals to pick from. Instant coffee only. I would try to find another hotel if a went back but I would stay again if nothing close to city center available.

This hotel is very central and a great price. I had a room that sleeps 3 for €35. It has no airconditioning, though, so I don't know what it would be like in the summer. Since I went in the winter, there was no problem; I found the room a little bit chilly but once you're under the blankets it's fine.

My wife, 8-year-old daughter & I stayed at the Hotel Residence Bene in late December, 2008. Pros: Very kind & helpful staff; easy walking distance to the main tourist areas and subway connections; free internet in "lobby"; reasonably good breakfast (but instant coffee - blech); great bagel place a block away. Cons: room was dirty (minimal vacuuming, glasses with gunk in the bottoms, etc. - maybe short-staffed because of the New Year?); weak heating system. In all, a very basic place , but well-priced considering the location and the city.

Stayed in a single room for 3 nights and enjoyed it a lot. Location was very convenient - although I did find it a little scary to walk back there alone at night, there is a big shopping mall nearby as well as bars, restaurants and all the popular sites. I walked to everywhere even up to the castle! I had the room next to the breakfast room and it was spacious enough with two single beds and a shower room. I was aware of their famous hard towels and brought my own so it wasn't a problem. Only minus point might be that I had to watch my head sometimes, as part of the ceiling was quite low. Breakfast buffet was much better than I had expected, lots of vegetables, ham, cheese, bread, etc. Loved the city, Czech food and Residence Bene - I would definitely stay there again.

We (10 grad students) booked 2 quads and 1 double for 2 nights. When we arrived, we were greeted by the manager, who suggested a slight modification to our reservation to 1 2-bedroom apartment and 1 quad resulting in lower price. That was a pleasant surprise. We traveled extensively in Europe and when a hotel manager suggested 'a modification' most of the time that meant we had to pay more. We really enjoyed our stay there. Both the manager and the receptionist were very helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast was excellent. The location could not be more central, within walking distance to everywhere. This place was a real bargain, and we definitely will come back again.

Definitely this is a BEST BUY!!! We paid for a 4 people room, and they offered us an apartment with tow double room (one of them could easily receive 5-6 people). All their rooms are fully equipped apartments (microwave oven, cook top, dishes and everything else) and they offer breakfast too. All employees were very friendly and able to provide all kind of information regarding the city. Besides, the location couldn't be more central. It was pretty much easy to get anywhere. It was also available tow computers with internet access free of charge. I would definitely back to this hotel when in Prague next time!

This was a good hotel for the price. Not too far from the Old Town center (a 10 min. walk). The only drawback to this hotel is that there is no AC, so you have to leave the windows open in warmer months, and it can get a bit noisy from the street outside.

We can't praise the staff enough. When we arrived, there was a problem with our room that they would not be able to correct right away. They made arrangements for us at another apartment close by. We didn't lose any valuable sightseeing time and the replacement apartment was perfectly fine. We had breakfast at the Hotel Residence Bene and it was one of the best breakfast buffets we had in our 11 day tour of Europe. We may not have actually stayed at the Hotel Residence Bene, but based on the service we received, the standard of our replacement apartment and the help with planning our sightseeing, keeping our car safe and breakfast, we couldn't have been happier with the staff. This was our first visit to Prague and thanks to the staff at Hotel Bene it was wonderful.

We stayed a family of 5 (children 11, 14, 17y)in the hotels largest appartment for 3 nights in July, and found it very excellent value for money - cheaper than any of the hostel family rooms. The hotel appears very drab from the outside, but don't be fooled by this. Our app. had 2 recently renovated rooms (both with TV), bathroom, and a small kitchen, including refrigerator, kettle, stove and even a microwave. The receptionist were extremely friendly and most helpful, suggesting sights, public transport and cheap parkomat parking nearby, but we chose to use the hotels parking at the back (relatively exp. but secure). The breakfast was very good buffet style, even some take away fruit and muesli bars were provided. Location is just 5 min. walk from the town square and 15 min. from the famous bridge - couldn't be much better.

The receptionist was really friendly and polite. The room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was clean and the shower was good. Three high-speed internet stations (free) at the lobby were excellent. The towels provided smelt a bit funny. Don't expect a hotel entrance. It looked rather like a back door to an office. Look for the address instead of a sign for "Residence Bene". The hotel is in a clean and safe area. About five minute easy walk to the old town square. There are plenty of nice and cheap restaurants and convenience stores next to the hotel. About 10 minute walk from Cedaz airport shuttle stop.

Budget hotel, and expensive by other european standards, however is an excellent price relative to other hotels in the area. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Rooms are clean. Beds are comfortable. I stayed at the residence Bene for a birthday trip to prague, the reception staff could not have been more helpful. they gave me a lesson on how to get around with maps and the best way to get to places. my room on the 7th floor was very small with a sloping ceiling but the internet site had said it would be. it was fine for one person and overall i was very happy with the hotel and it was great value for money so close to old town square. thanks Residence bene!

The hotel had a great location, near the old town and with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. The breakfast was very good and the newly remodeled breakfast room was very nice. We were surprised to find that our room was only half remodeled and that some new furniture appeared one day. We were also rudely awoken by hammering and drilling at 7:00 am on SUNDAY morning! Ask if the renovations are finished before booking this hotel....

It's in a great location and seemed reasonably priced for Prague. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was undergoing renovations while we were there (March), so it was probably more shambolic and noisy than it is normally. They didn't clean the room every day. We were without electricity one day for a few hours, again probably because of the on-going work. I would go back, but do not recommend it to anyone looking for luxury. It is fairly typical for that price bracket on the continent. A nice touch was having a kettle in the room. Some cups to drink out of wouldn't have gone astray, though! The rickety lift is not a pleasant experience.

We did this holidays with a group of friends (8 people). The hotel is really good located, near the centre of city (5 minutes walking,Prague it's not big...).The rooms are essentials but nice. The corridors and the stairs are restoring but that's not a problem. The breakfast is good with a lot of choices...the staff is very nice and kindly!

If you don't want to spend a lot staying in the real town center, this hotel is perfect. Staff qualified and spacious rooms with clean and tidy bathroom. At the moment (march 2008) there are works in progress in the hall and stairs giving a bit of dusty impression. Breakfast ok! Good staying overall.

The location is very good. The room on the 7th floor seems to be renovated recently, looks not gorgeous(like IKEA furniture) but clean. I recommend this hotel to young travellers. Breakfast was good, staff (especially lady)was so kind and helpful. Only about the towel, you sould bring your own one.(WIFI was too slow.)

Rooms were moderately clean but spacious. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially with providing information on the town and surroundings. Toilet broke during our stay and someone came to fix it right away.

This is wonderful location 5mins by foot to the old town square. On the way are fantastic shops to look at and there are cheaper restaurants near the hotel. The staff are incredibly nice and always willing to help. The tram stop you need to get off at is Dlouha (they do not specify this in the directions on how to get there). This is just 1min walk from the tram stop (very close and easy to carry luggage)

Great hotel. Especially for the price. Rooms are very big. And personnel is very friendly. It does look a bitty crappy from the outside, but the rooms are very good. I would recommend to everybody. Location is great as well.

We had a really nice stay, the hotel is rather modest but great value for money. The rooms were a bit dusty because they were renovating. Otherwise great and the people at the hotel were very kind.

I decided to book this room after reading the comments of other guests. The hotels is very well situated, close to the city center and main touristic attractions. The staff was very nice and helpful. The hotels lookes old inside, however it is worth its price. In the room there was very quiet, I heard no traffic at night. One negative remark: I did not like the towels, they looked old. So I was happy that I had my own with me.

A nice cheap hotel. It's not luxurious but it's great value for money. The bed was really good, the rest of the room was old but functional. The room was towards the backyard and thus very quiet. Breakfast was ok. The location is great, a few minutes from the very centre. They offered a reasonably priced airport pick-up service that we used. So we were happy with the place.

Stayed 3 nights from 15 october 07, very positive experience. very easy tram access from holesovice rail station on arrival from germany. old communist style apartment block being transformed into a hotel.this means more spacious than many hotels, but the ongoing upgrade of property is necessary to give a more attractive "look." should be much better by next summer season. super friendly staff, who really are interested in helping guests enjoy their stay, and even learn everybody's name. only slight drawbacks :- bathrooms oldfashioned with high bathtubs a bit tricky to enter/exit. curtains might be too thin for high summer with early sunrise. good cold buffet breakfast included. fantastic location on dlouha street which has lots of good restaurants and bars ( some very smart ), plus latenight convenience stores. 3 atm machines on street corner, plus good internet cafe ( open to 10pm) in shopping centre on way to republic square if the free acess terminal at hotel reception is busy. only 5 minutes easy walk to republic square or old town square... i would check availability here first on my next trip to prague.

The position is great (just 5 minutes by foot to Old Town Square), the staff is very friendly, rooms are quite clean, but the hotel needs a total renoval (the first impression is not properly positive). If you're not looking for "Ritz Hotel" and your primary interest is being central in Prague, I think H.R.Bene is one of the best choices you can do. Prices are very cheap and further there is 7% discount for cash payement. They can arrange you transfer from/to the airport.

There was a plumbing problem in the hotel when I arrived , but the receptionist (Jan) kindly informed that alternative accomodation was arranged for me already at a different place. His service and cordiality was superb and I was really pleased with his service. I can;t comment on Residence Bene itself but its receptionist was fantastic.

In general it's been a very good experience. The employed people were very nice and heartly. Some details should be treated with more attention (e.g. the room's curtains didn't work very well and the tables-cloths in the breakfast room were just so and so. If we'll be back in Prague, we'll willingly stay there again.
