When checked in we had to go to another hotel to do it, the first key we got was to a used room, then the receptionist got annoyed and finally gave us a key to an empty room. Beds are uncomfortable, room is not very clean, very small, the actual Winston Churchill front desk people are very nice and helpful. The area is not great but close to public transportation, when arriving by tram, after you get off, take a left then a right, go down the stairs and down the street to the right and THEN you're at the hotel, not quiet how the website puts it. There is NO internet, although the website says there is, they haven't had it for some time now.

The rooms are nice and quite big (though one window would not close) but if you want to stay there you should be CAREFUL about two things: 1) If you can pay in CASH (Euro or Czech Crowns), do it. Somehow the employee got me to pay with a credit card, which was more expensive. 2) The hotel is ok and a bus right next to it will bring you downtown Prague in 15 minutes, but the area itself is SQUALID, as you can expect when you realize it is located near 2 train stations. If you want a hotel in an area which feels clean and secure, try somewhere else, unless you're on a low budget.

I will recomend this hotel to my friends. It is a quiet area, good service for a cheap price. The first day we have a problem to find this hotel by tram 9 and map, however, this hotel is close to center, especially if you take a bus 133. The bus 133 stops nearly Russian store ( the store works 24 hours) and very close to hotel. We would like to tell thank you to Joseph and David who work on frontdesk for a good service. Also we would like to tell thank you to people who service us with a good breakfast. Alla (USA) and Flura (Russia).

It is a good three star hotel. It is quite near to the center of the city (only three tram stops; the tram service is effiecient) very spacious room with a kitchen in a flat, although some extraordinary work may be needed. For example: some lamps, replacement of curtains (the current ones are not sutable for the largeness of the windows, so they do not allow blocking out the light in the early morning and even completely shutting off the view of the room from the street). The hotel staff were very kind and helpful. The quality of breakfast was good and the food choice was enough for a good three star hotel. Do not have your breakfast at "rush" hours (around 9): the number of table is not enough for all the hotel guests! At our arrival the flat was very clean, but they were not cleaned up every morning. BTW: good stay !

The reception staff provided an excellent service. They were friendly, helpful, welcoming and willing to help with all questions. The location was not that great, we had hoped to be a little closer to the city centre in order to explore on foot. But the bus connection was good and we didn't battle with transport at all. The rooms didn't look like the photos on the internet, but we were perfectly happy with our room.

Overall this was a good hotel but curtains of my room was not covering all window area and wasn't really giving privacy. Windows were not so successful about blocking sounds of the street. Hotel is 25 min. walking time away from Old Town Square. There is 24 hour open market right around the corner which is nice for long stays.

It was a nice hotel (convenient and very spacious room, there was a kitchen in the room), except from the location. Even though it is quite near the old town, you have to come back passing the train station (feels not safe at night) unless you go via Italska street - it's quiet and safe. On the other hand, we had problems with parking. We came by car and were informed that there is no space in the hotel's garage. Moreover, one girl in the reception was providing false information - she said that parking on the street in front of the hotel is forbidden without some ticket (but it was for free, as we found out later).

The hotel itself is very good in overall. The room was very nice and clean. It is very close to the main train station, just one stop of the tram. For the city, you have to be careful, esp. taxi. Taking taxi from the main train station should not cost more than 200 CZ, and should be about 600 CZ from the airport.

Barfo is an excellent hotel for the price they ask for. breakfast excellent as well. It is located in the nearby of the centre (10 minutes walking or 3 bus stops). Excellent the cleaning of the room at my arrival, but not during the stay. In any case I would absolutely recommend this hotel!

EXELLENT VALUE FOR MONNEY. HOTEL IS LOOKING MORE AS AN APARTHOTEL THAT HOTEL . IT's CLEAN. VERY SPACIOUS ROOM. BREAKFAST AS A BUFFET WAS OK. ALTHOUGH I DID NOT COME TO WATCH TV, THE TV SYSTEM WAS NOT EASY TO UNDERSTAND, GUIDE IN ENGLISH AND ONLY ITALIAN CHANELS. SITUATED 15 MIN TO THE CENTER. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL WITOUT HESITATING.

The person at the reception was so helpful, when we arrived, he gave us full information about the city and public transport, also he gave us a city map. I recommend you get the tram at the top of the road rather than the bus, on the bus you can get rob by pick-pockets. Additional, just at the corner it is a mini-market where you can buy food and drinks.

Hotel pulito, confortevole. Tutto elettronico. Stanze grandi e ben arredate. Colazione soddisfacente. Il saldo è richiesto all'arrivo in hotel.

I confirmed my arrival time with hotel by email at least two times prior to arrival. Both emails were acknowledged by hotel. When I arrived at hotel, they claimed problem with my credit card made it unable to guarantee my room. THEY MADE NO EFFORT TO CONTACT ME WHEN THIS PROBLEM AROSE. They claimed only room now available was a suite at 50% more per night. I could either take it or leave it. They would no let me book it for one nite and decide the next day, they forced me to take suite for all six nights or go looking for another hotel after 10pm at night. I believe they deliberately manipulated the situation to increase their revenue. The suite they gave me was large but not comfortable. Two large rooms but no comfortable furniture. The living area had only a hard uncomfortable sofa bed (God help you if you had to sleep on this); it was bad enough to sit on. The only TV was an "internet PC" 20+ feet away. So I was unable to watch TV in bed as in a regular room. After the manipulation of the management, another reviewer here had complained they were charged 30 euro when tv/pc settings malfunctioned. There were very threatening instructions on the TV/PC that this charge would be made if there was a problem. I decided it wasn't worth the risk, so I never turned the TV or PC on. The included breakfast was extremely poor. The only bread they had for toast or anything was very stale, at least several days old, even toasted it was not good. The automatic coffee cappucino machine they had made coffee that tasted bad-- a green yucky taste like mildew or God knows what. It was awful. The other selection of breakfast items, meats and cheeses, was poor and of low-quality. The staff did not speak at all and were totally unfriendly. I was afraid to try the yogurt based on how old the bread was and what the coffee tasted like. I would never stay at this hotel again, and I would recommend against anyone staying at the Hotel Barfo in Prague unless it

I've stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment wich was very comfortable and spacious. I recommend to give more inofrmation of how to get the hotel from Husineska tramway stop, bescause is not that easy as saying "we are there"... There are hard stairsd and the streets are like up&down hills. I did not like the look and attitude of the person that checks the breakfast room. The TV-pc-radio system was too complicated.

Consigliatissimo.

Although the area that hotel was located looked a tad run down and unsafe the accommodation it self was clean, secure and only 15 minute walk from the main township. The train and tram system is reasonably good and won't take long to figure out how it all works. The breakfast supplied was not very good unless you like eating week old stale bread. Also despite staying in a street side room on the top floor any noise from the nearby train station or any commotion that occurred out side sounded like it was right in the room with you and was often awoken during the late hours of the morning due to the noise. I guess for the price we paid we could have done much worse.

Our room was modern clean and extremely spacious, I was amazed at the value for money, which worked out at about £17.50 a night for bed and breadfast. The only down side was the fact that the hotel is on a small side road that a lot of the taxi drivers were unaware of, be warned, take with you the map provided by the hotel receiption staff.

Note that although this hotel is not too far from the centre, walking there and back is not to be recommended late at night as it is also not far from the station. Although the rooms were spacious, the daily cleaning was poor and, once, even though the towels were left on the floor (international indication that they need changing) they were not change. Also note that although nothing is mentioned on the website hotel parking is not free for guests (I believe its EUR 11 per day).

I loved the proximity to other areas of prague. The staff was very helpful, and the rooms very lovely. The complimentary breakfast was a very nice touch. I was only at the hotel for a weekend but I will be living in Prague until December. The only thing that was unsatisfactory were the ridiculously wrong directions to the hotel that I found on the website. Additionally, I was unable to find a contact phone number for the hotel online, which would have been extremely helpful to combat the inaccurate online directions.
