Conveniently located about 9 minutes away from the Old Town Square, Hotel Vítkov is a modern hotel in Prague. Sitting atop the hill for which it was named, the rooms, lobby and interior halls were designed by famous designer Neta Kafri in Feng Shui style. Well connected to local bus and metro stations, it is an excellent base to discover this breathtaking monumental city, declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO and one of the most visited in Europe.

The hotel is located in the historic neighbourhood of Žižkov, plenty of beautiful parks. This area used to be the bohemian part of Prague and currently houses many trendy restaurants and cafés.

Hotel Vítkov was totally refurbished in 2007 and is disabled-accessible. Amenities include several lounges, a restaurant, a laundry service, a garage, an Internet Point and wireless Internet access in the lobby. The reception is open around the clock and its friendly staff will provide tourist information and will arrange sightseeing tours on request. An airport shuttle (surcharge) is available on request.

I had managed to get a good deal for this hotel, and looking at some decent reviews, did manage to book rooms for a couple of days here. This property is marketed as a budget hotel, but let me tell you its really an amazing place to stay in Prague, at a modest price. The receptionist team is very competent and extremely helpful having all the patience to answer all of our queries. The rooms are spacious and lovely. The location of hotel is also pretty good, around 15 mins by bus from the main bus terminal, with the bus stop very close to the hotel. All in all, a must stay in Prague!

I recommend this hotel if you stay in Prague the only inconvenient is that is located at 15min tramway from the main centre so if you have to go there many times it can take a little time But apart this , is very quiet calm and offers excellent services

The hotel is quite nice. I stayed there twice and loved the vicinity of the tram station, cinema, a small shop. But breakfast lacks imagination (ham, butter, toast, marmalade every day, rarely fruit, never vegetables) and their orange juice is terrible. My main complaint is the chamber maid who comes daily but doesn't even bother to make the beds or vacuum the floor or dust. All she does is bring additional toilet paper. We stayed there for 6 days and never once had our room cleaned even though we put the Make our room sign on the door.

I was very pleased with everything, which also met my expectation and above all there were no hidden or extra costs at all, as stated in the internet. The Hotel is also well connected with the public transport 24 hours a day, so you won´t need a cab, unless you wish. I Left the Hotel with thumb up, and would give it an A.

Good hotel for those who are looking for a equilibrium between price and quality. Minuses: rooms are not clean enough-during our stay of 7 days they only changed towels, made a bad(not always) and throw rubbish, but never cleaned the floor and dust; you need to pay for WiFi; the walls of the hotel are thin so that you listen all that happen in corridor; during our stay the restaurant was closed and we couldn't have lunch, dinner or just take a coffee in the hotel;hotel breakfast is not so much reach but it's normal for Czech Republic. Pluses: the personnel is kind and helpful; very easy to arrive to the city center; near the hotel you can find supermarket, small shops, even Russian shop, bars and newspapers; rooms are enough large, new and light; on the reception you can find city maps and so much travel brochures.

This hotel is too far out of town for us and that was not clear in the web information. It was very basic but for the price not surprised. Too noisy internal and external. Very bad beds made sleep almost impossible. Air con not working either and could not open the window due to traffic noise. This is a rough guide hotel and not for older travellers.

It was the first tim I stayed at Hotel Vitkov, but it will not be my last time. There were a high service, it was easy with tram near the hotel. Uppersite the hotel there was a garden, were different people enjoyed a water or a beer and it was nice. Near the hotel we found a restaurant, were the staff were very kindly, the prices low and the food good, so it was nice too. Tram number 9 stop near the hotel, and you can go with this tram directly to the mittle of Praha. The price 32 koruna (over 60 year then 16) and the tichets you can buy outside the hotel. You can travel 72 hours for 110 koruna. I paid 10 euro pr. night for parking my car in a closed garage, so it was OK, but you can not make a reservation before you arrive, so this could be better. I have forgotten to say, that our breakfast was excellent - many different things, a lot of it and the staff were cleaning the tables many times with a smile.

Plus: Hotel was clean and nice. Staff very helpful. They gave us maps and directions. After check out we could leave our luggage in safe room. Minus: We smell cigarettes in our bathroom right after our check in. Finally they help us to change room to another (plus). Other: Ask about quite room - that is very important if you would like to sleep well. Hotel is located about 30 minutes walk distance from Prague old town, but you can catch a tram (there is a lot close to hotel).

Bathroom was smelly. Internet did not work and when I asked the receptionist she told me she couldn't help me as she "doesn't understand computers" Our "triple room" was clearly a double room with a cot added. All three beds were pushed together. You get what you pay for. Next time I will spend more and stay elsewhere.

For the price the hotel was perfect. The best price/quality ratio we have ever achieved. The only thing was that the room was too small for 4 persons, but for the price we get it - perfect and even with included breakfast. The bathroom although was very spacious. The room and bathroom were clean, and were cleaned everyday. The personal was nice and helpful. No problems with the hot water and the heating system. There is a tram just near the hotel which goes to the Staro Mesto, and even beyond the river, to the other side. By walkking going to the Staro Mesto took about 25 minutes. If you are with a car - this area (Prague 3) is not cheap for parking. The hotel have parking but for a price. So - we are very pleased, happy and satisfied for the 4 nights stay in the hotel and if we travel again in Prague we will definitly consider hotel Vitkov.

The floor in the room was dirty due to the room never being vacuumed and bedding never changed during our stay. The hotel offers reasonably good breakfast with a fair choice, however more fresh vegetable would be expected, especially in the summer. The big minus for all of those who arrive to the hotel by car: you would be embarrassed by finding out that no free parking is available anywhere around the hotel and only in-house parking is possible for for quite a high fee. Leaking AC (probably) behind the reception desk in the lobby - no one took care to fix it for four days...
