I can recommend this hotel. It was little bit far from the centre, but there is train going every 30 minutes and the train station is just 2min from the hotel. Staff was very friendly and breakfast tasty. Wifi was working well also in our room. Just entrance of hotel and bathroom looked older, but still clean.

Very friendly and helpful receptionist, though rooms facing the garden/road can get a bit noisy at night. Getting to the hotel is a bit tricky, but if you take the Airport Express bus from the airport to the centre, it drops you outside the Hilton which is next to the Masarykovo train station. From the train station, take the S1 train going to Kolin and the third station (Dolnehorne Pocernhce) is where you get off. Approx 15 min ride. From there, the hotel is less than 5 mins walk away.

If you drive to Prague, then the hotel Svornost is a good choice. It is a short drive from the highway, and has secure free parking. To get to Prague, it is a very short walk to the train stop, and a 15 minute ride to the city. The train only costs about a Euro one way. The hotel employees were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is older, but clean. We found our beds to be comfortable.

My overall stay at the Svornost I thought, was excellent and pleasant. Althougth it was too quiet at times as there not many other guests in the hotel and I did not speak the Czech language. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The meals at times were not as good as they could have been and lack of phones in the room and lack of internet access were a real downside. But if you do not mind this, this hotel is an excellent place to stay especially if you do not want to live in the crowded city center hotels and if you do not want to spend too much money on overated hotels. It would best suit a family travelling together or a quiet traveller who does not mind not having any company and just wishes to go about his own business. Although the hotel is located outside of Prague ( Prague 9 ), travel to the center of Prague is very easy. There are regular trains every 30 minutes that bring you to Masarykova station where you can then find your way wherever you want to go and it is cheap. It is only a short 2 - 3 minute walk to the train station and it is safe. So this could bring you to whatever exciting activity you want to do downtown and then you would retire to a quiet place at the end of it all. I would definitely Czech this place out before you spend too much unnecessary money on an expensive hotel at the center of Prague. Tomas, the hotel manager is very friendly and helpful as are all his staff.

Very nice hotel with a very easy access to the centre of Prague. It is just 3 stations by train and it takes not more than 20 minutes to get to the centre of the city. If you travel as a family buy a group ticket at the Praha Masarykovo Nadr. cash desk. It is much cheaper than single tickets. The room was very nice, breakfast nice and tasty. The staff is great. It is not a 5 star hotel but still a very decent place to stay.

A few tidbits about this hotel, and Prague in general that will hopefully help you plan your visit: (1) Don't count on anyone at the train station being able to speak English very well (and don't expect them to smile much either). Folks out in town and in the shops generally spoke better English than the people who are supposed to "help" you in the train stations. (2) The train to the hotel is pretty convenient, but you need to walk to the Masarykovo train station (about 10 mins or so) to buy tickets and ride the train from there - NOT THE MAIN TRAIN STATION!!! It took us two hours to figure that out and make our way of the main station (see comment #1 above). For two adults, two kids, it was 90 kc for each round trip ($6) - we didn't try to figure out any 24-hour pass deals (again, see comment #1 above). (3) The trains outside the hotel are loud at night, especially in the summer when you have the windows open. No a/c, so do you want to be hot or be woken up multiple times a night? (4) When booking, get your room rate in kc, not Euros or USD. Otherwise, plan to pay in cash, or plan to get gouged by the hotel with a really crappy exchange rate for using a credit card. (5) Breakfast was pretty decent - basic but definitely got the job done. (6) Get supplies out in town, as it's a residential area with only one convenience store (was closed when we were there). Good deals on groceries out in town (Billa store is close to the train station), and a fridge is available in the rooms. Overall, not that bad of a hotel once you figured it out, but I'd probably look around next time.

As we drove into prague this hotel was ideal. It is quite a long way from the city centre but has a train stop 5 minutes walk away and is reasonably close to a motorway exit. I really enjoyed the restaurant/ballroom. The food was reasonably priced and really pretty good. It was a fab room to eat in!

This was a very pleasant place, not impressive or near luxurious, but quite comfortable and good value. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. I have slept on some very hard mattresses in the Czech Republic (they seem to like it), fortunately the mattress in my room was not one of those. On the minus side, aside from the bed and wardrobe, the furnishing in the room was on the shabby side and the curtains were not adequate to keep the morning sun out. Service was excellent and the food was (by Czech standards) very good. There was a birthday party in the ballroom downstairs and the noise carried up, but ended early enough. However, people were below my window smoking and the smoke drifted up quite strongly, which I found objectionable. I was with a group which included 3 young children, and for a family group looking for reasonable comfort at a budget price the hotel was very good. This was my main reason for booking here. The distance from Prague town centre was not a problem as the train service was excellent and cheap.

This was an excellent place to stay - at a budget price, but with tourist class facilities. It is ten miles from the centre of Prague, but it is literally two minutes walk from the hotel front door to the local railway station, from where it is 17 minutes (and not much more than 50p) on a comfortable modern suburban train to central Prague (Line S1 - three stops into Prague Masarykova Nadrazi), and this train runs every half hour until the middle of the evening, and then every hour. (Alternatively there is a bus from the end of the metro line, but this is more complicated than taking the train). Ten minutes walk from the hotel in the opposite direction brings you to a lovely wooded lake. The hotel is in a very pleasant suburb well beyond the city sprawl. Evening meals are available, again of very reasonable quality and variety, but at budget price. Most of the staff speak English at least moderately well, and all were welcoming. This is a local hotel that is also beginning to cater for foreign tourists and offers a comfortable stay at extremely reasonable prices. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to others.

We stayed for 2 nights and chose this hotel because we had a car and it is outside of the city center. It is located in a residential area, close to a small train station. We parked for free and rode the train into the city each day. The staff was so nice and friendly, they went out of their way to help us. The food at the restaurant was excellent and the breakfast in the morning was great. It was perfect for us.

It was a nice staying in Svornost hotel , as we expected ; it is located in a quiet and selected area ,free space for parking (in front of hotel and in a courtyard-guarded parking ); it is a very good connection by train , every 30 min. with the centre of Prague ; the problem is that last train from Prague is at midnight, but for thouse who does not need to spend night time in center of Prague is OK.The personell was nice and ready to help .

Nice place to stay. Easy way to get there from the airport. Take the bus from the airport to the metro station. Get on the metro to the very last station. Take the 208 bus to the last station (all on that one ticket you bought at the airport for 26 czech crowns). Walk down for 200 yards and pass under the railway bridge, take the first road to the left and walk for another 500 yards and the hotel is there. It has a bar/restaurant. If you want to be away from the citycenter and among the local people, stay at this place. Travel time from the hotel to the city center less than an hour and comfortable.

A great bargain if you don't mind not taking part in the Prague nightlife. The last train back to the hotel leaves around midnight. The train itself was very convenient and very inexpensive. The hotel was neat and simple. Our quad room had four single beds, table w/ 4 chairs, a wardrobe, a separate room with a sofa and TV, and a bathroom. A shower curtain around the tub would be a nice addition! Breakfast was simple, but adequate. The staff was very helpful and we really enjoyed our stay.

An excellent base for a family to visit Prague. The train into Prague is no problem. The hotel was excellent value for money, the staff were very helpful and welcoming. Breakfasts were good. Restaurant and terrace available for food during the day and evening, if required. If you stay for six nights staff will pick you up from the airport which is great. Once you know the city, the return to the airport on public transport is easy and very cheap less than one pound sterling and can be done in less than 90 minutes. We would go stay again as the family room was ideal.

Lovely hotel with very competent and friendly staff. You have to plan carefully to get there for the first time from the airport but the advice on Venere from other users was very helpful. We took bus 119 from airport then metro to Masarykovo nàdr railway station. Train from there to Dolna Poternice. The whole journey took just over an hour and total cost was about 1 euro each (20K ticket). Then its a very short walk up the lane and turn right. Food at hotel was very good. Charged at hotel rack rate which was slightly more (23 euros more in total bill of 503 euros) than quoted on Venere. Easy, safe and cheap to get into city centre by train.

My wife and I spent 3 nights here in Apr-2007. The price was excellent and we were glad to be away from the crowds in the city. It is VERY easy to get into Prague (the hotel is in a suburb). From the hotel it is a 3 minute walk to the station and takes only 15 minutes once you're on the train. The staff was very friendly, all spoke English and had answers to all of our questions. There's a nice little store at the bottom of the hill (by the park) where they sell beer, food, etc. We would stay here again.

I had realy nice time. People were very kind and helpfull. The rail way station is very closed to the hotel. There is a pretty lake just near the hotel. I enjoyed it after a long and tired day in Prague. The place is quiet. I went to the hotel by taxi from the bus station of Florenc, it cost around 400 courones (14 Euros). but it's only around 70 cents by the train. This railway station is linked with the Masarykovo nàdr railway station(it's the third station)This station is just near by the Florenc bus station. I enjoyed the hotel and Prague one of the most beautyfull town I saw...

The hotel staff are excellent. Even though on arrival in Prague airport we have pre-arranged the limo service from the hotel but the staff was late around 1 hr due traffic jam, we still satisfy their service. All staff are very helpful and the surrounding are good. Only the hotel location are inconvience. Train is the only transport to down town and need to wait 1 hr if you miss the train. Suggest to take limo from airport to htl othervise you need to go down town first and then take the train to htl.

An excellent way to do Prague if you don't mind being home before midnight. The pickup from the airport went well. The train service was cheap (it's included in the Prague all-in pass) as well as quick. You need to remember that the train into Prague is on the *hotel* side of the line; that there is a subway under the line coming back; that trains into Prague run late, so check the destination with the timetable the hotel give you - same on the way back, it can be 'Kolin' or 'Cerny Brod'. The people in the hotel were the friendliest Czechs we met, and Dolni itself is rather nice. The whole thing makes a good life-support system. One of the best-value things we've ever done.

We stayed here for a few days of vacation in Prague. The hotel was clean and had a pleasant atmosphere. Though it was outside of town, it was nice to return to a place away from the tourist crowds. Definitely use the train, not the bus when going downtown (15 min vs. 40min), if you don't have much time, though riding the bus was a great opportunity to experience more of the local flavor. The hotel staff was very welcoming, helpful and spoke english fluently. Breakfast was very good, buffet style, something for everyone.

Very friendly family run hotel, we were picked up at the airport on time and taken back very efficiently. Hotel is about 16K out of town but in a lovely quiet location the only noise was from the railway line but it never bothered us at all. The station is only about 3 minutes walk from the hotel with at least one train per hour into Prague centre 24 hour ticket only 3E. Nice park nearby and walk by the lake. Overhaul very friendly and clean Tomas spoke excellent english and gave us a running commentry about the area as we travelled back to airport. wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Richard

This hotel has a very convenient position and is ideal if you come by car (free secured parking). You can buy train tickets at the reception and be in the centre of Prague in about 20 minutes. The staff members are very nice. The only negative point is that the towels were rather "basic" and only changed once in a week. On the whole, this accommodation is really worth its price.

There was ample breakfast served from 6 - 10am, so there was plenty of chance to get eat in the morning. The rooms were clean and tidy.

The Hotel is located quite distant from the City of Prague. There is a train which links the hotel to the city centre, but I you lose the train you have to wait for the next one, generally 1 hour after!!! Also the last train leaves at midnight, so you are forced to came back at the hotel. This is the only real drawback - for the remaing, the hotel has a normal-good price/quality relationship.

The location map on the web is very misleading as the hotel is actually way out in the suburbs about 16 km from the centre. In desperation we hired a taxi to find it. However, the hotel was excellent in every respect and very good value for money. The train service into Prague was very convenient, clean and reasonable. We would certainly use the hotel again, but PLEASE amend the website to show the correct location as we wasted a lot of time trying to find it.

The hotel is NOT located in the Jewish district as stated on the website. It's actually way outside of town; a 15min. train ride to the center of town. However, the train station is a minute walk from hotel and its just 3 stops to town. Quality is what you would expect for the price. Maid service wasn't that great; forgot soap, towels, etc... but people were friendly. Breakfast (which is included) was ok.

At first I was nervous, as the hotel is in a quiet residential area, but access to the train is very easy, and in 20 minutes you are in the city center. I found it was nice to return to somewhere quiet where I could have a good meal and talk to other travelers at the end of the day. The attic rooms do get a little hot though and there are no windows that open. Still I would reccommend this hotel for someone who wants a good bargain.

Traditional hotel with limited but clean facilities. Most staff helpful and welcoming but locals frequenting the facilities can take some getting use to.

This is a very friendly and cheap hotel compared to what you would pay in the centre of Prague and is good value for money. Be aware though, you are in the outer suburbs! And it is a 20 min taxi ride back from town if you miss the train, and the map on the web led us to believe it was much closer. Trains into Prague are good however.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. It is like a diamond in the rough. The rooms are quaint, clean, and quiet. The employees went out of their way to ensure our stay was pleasurable. As for the location, its far away from the hustle and bustle of the city center. However, the train that takes you into the city is only a one block walk from the hotel, and they sell the tickets at the front desk. The tickets ran about 6KC, which is around $2.50 per person round trip. The trains run early in the morning until around 22:30 at night. Just remember when you are heading back to the hotel, take the train marked Kolin, you will exit the train on the third stop.....we didn't know that the first day and we were a bit confused. They have a little bar and restaurant for evening dining....the food was excellent. Breakfast is served in the mornings and is more than substantial to send you on your way. I can't say enough good things about this hotel and would definitely stay there on my next visit.
