The hotel is situated not too far from the public transport, our room on the front of the hotel was surprisingly quiet, breakfast was nice and sufficient and we have really enjoyed our stay. The staff at reception was helpful and could speak English. Would recommend this hotel to other travellers.

Hotel is good, with nice breakfast (except orange juice), but its located far from the old centre, in a strange area, especially at night.

Cost-to-quality ratio is perfect. So is the attitude of the staff. Zizkov is not an upscale neighbourhood, but the surrounding (cobbled) streets are pleasant and quiet, and we walked around late at night feeling completely safe. I would recommend Kafka to any price-conscious traveler, except for those that have difficulty walking uphill. Would definitely stay here again. Advantages: a tasteful and very spacious room, pretty inner courtyard, good security (by the way, there are a few other hotels on the same street). Tram and bus stops are pretty close, and can take you directly to the train station, or the bus station, or to the main squares of both Old and New Town, all in less than 10-15 min. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Disadvantages: 1) We ran out of hot water on more than one occasion. To be fair, it usually was hot enough. 2)The hotel is further away from the Old City than indicated in their description, and some stretches of the walking route are far from pretty. I would certainly recommend to use trams or buses - luckily, they are frequent enough during the day, and run by half-an-hour at night. 3) The street is relatively steep. This is in itself not a disadvantage, but be prepared to walk uphill to the tram stops for 100-200 meters

This is a good hotel for the price and location is excellent. Two complaints: the breakfast is not good - nobody should be serving instant coffee - and the walls are thin. But if you're looking for budget travel in Prague that is convenient, clean, and friendly, this is the right place. No elevator.

We stayed to Kafka hotel for 4 nights and remained extremely disappointed. First, we were asked to pay before we've seen the room. The room was in the building in the opposite side of the street, directly on the trash courtyard. Every morning we were woken up by the cleaning ladies bringing the trash. The courtyard's lamp didn't work (and was not repaired when we asked to) and it was quite dangerous at night. However, our room had nothing to do with the pictures on the web-site. Very sad, no decoration, towels never changed and TV not working. Breakfasts were aboundant but of very bad quality. The bus mentionned on the web-site to get to the hotel from the airport didn't exist. But Prague is a wonderful city, worth to see!

First time visitor. Staff very friendly and helpful - just an example: my 12-year-old-daughter forgot her schoolbooks in the room, and they were sent to our home address by hotel staff immediately after our departure.

Good hotel for the price. Employees were helpful and friendly. Free Wi-Fi was nice on the first floor. Surrounding area was ok. Tram noise was not pleasant. Breakfast was ok.

Good quality/price ratio, well-placed. However, for a very small cost, three improvements to do: 1) Separate smokers from non-smokers rooms, cold smoke smell is terrible. 2) Breakfast in basement is OK, but some products could have a more natural touch (yoghurt, orange juice could be better) 3) Bathrooms should have some places to hang towels, put personal care items, etc.

A very good choice if you want to be near the center in a logical price. Clear rooms and a rich buffet for the breakfast.
