We loved staying in a small hotel. The staff were always so helpful. location is great - walkable to the center but also on a good tram route. The luggage lockers and facilities for a late check out were a real bonus as was the free internet! Breakfasts were good. Thanks to all for making out stay such a happy one!

We were 7 girlfiends in 3 rooms who experienced a nice atmosphere, very kindly service from the staff, a various breakfast, very good food and wine in the restaurant at reasonable prices, clean rooms and good beds. Despite some traffic noise we all had good sleep all days. The distance to City Centre was compensated by very nice surroundings along the river or in the park. We will recommend.

I'd recommend Hotel Julian as a good, well located tourist hotel. I was travelling with my adult son and we were allocated a family room with three beds that was enormous - I'm not sure what size the standard rooms are. Location is great - 10-15 minutes walk to Charles Bridge. Tram stop is just around the corner making access to the rest of Prague very easy.

We have spent 6 days in this hotel. It was an excellent stay. The hotel is located in a quiet location close to Mala Strana area. Easy to walk to the city. A very good address in Prag, we warmly recommend.

we are a young couple who stayed in the hotel for a weekend and it was the best choice to stay in this hotel. the staff was very friendly and were helpful in any way. the young lady at reception gave us great advise how to get atound the city. the hotel is situated perfectly, the tram station with trams into the city and to the castle are just around the corner. we had a great 30mins walk from the hotel over the Charles bridge into the city centre along the river Moldau. the room was very spaceous, clean and warm. allthough we were facing the road the noise during the night was not bad. the car was protected in the back yard parking space with video surveilance. breakfast is great, especially at the weekend, you can get cerial, fruit, orange juice, vegetables, bread, sausages, eggs, coffee, tea, very nice was the mozarella with tomatoesand the presentation. we absolutely enjoyed the hotel bar and the cosy sitting room with a library, warm fire and lovely classical music. the stay in the hotel Julian made our short trip to Prague perfect.

I was travelling with my wife and two children, 16 and 19. This was my first time at the Hotel Julian. We had a quad room which was a bedroom with a second room with tow beds. You could actually sleep six as there were two sofas. The hotel has trams located within 2 minutes of its door. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel was well worth the cost.

Located in the neighborhood of Smichov, hotel Julian faces a quiet street while, at the same time, is no more than 150-200 meters away from the closest tram stop. Several restaurants are scattered all through the nearby blocks: some of them offer a wide range of hearty czech fares, not to mention freshly brewed tank Pilsner, at very reasonable prices. Novi Smichov with its shopping complexes and slightly upmarket eateries and, in the opposite direction, the undisputed fascination of Mala Strana are just a few tram stops away. Hotel Julian boasts a cozy, old fashioned, library, located at the lobby level, where you can relax, skim through a book sitting in an armchair close to the fireplace or even have your breakfast in the morning. A clean but not spotless room, nice but sometimes unattentive staff represent a moderate weakness to an experience that, otherwise, would have met my expectations: in the end, rooms seem to be a bit overpriced compared to the service provided.

This is a terrific surprise. This hotel is so well-run. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful and speak perfect English. The hotel itself is interesting, clean and new. Rooms were relatively spacious for E. Europe. And... all over the hotel, there are little amenities... antiques, roof-top garden with the most wonderful view, etc. The lobby is the most restful and nicely decorated drawing-room that I've seen. The location is great, just minutes by trolley (that stops less than a block away) from the center of town. We loved every minute there and the hotel itself made our visit to Prague memorable. I have nothing but praise.

The only thing I would suggest, is to provide better directions to the hotel, the tram number that needs to be taken from the main railway station would have been good to know ahead of time.

We just loved this hotel. It did not bother us that it was not in the old town or the little town. We did not mind walking. I found the room better appointed than the one at the brand new hotel we had to move to to attend my conference. Our room at Hotel Julian was larger and much more charming, and the bathroom was also large, immaculate, and well equipped. The roof deck was wonderful; the breakfast was great, and the pub in the basement was a fun place for a drink before bed. If there was any drawback, it was that our room was on the street side, and there was some noise with the window open. However, this could likely be avoided by closing the window and using the AC. We took advantage of the transport service, which worked out extremely well, and the driver also made himself available to us when we moved to the conference hotel.

Excellent hotel! Clean rooms and friendly staff. Located away from the tourist areas but close enough to walk everywhere. Queit rooms. The hotels policy is rooms that face the street are air-conditioned; those that face the courtyard are not. If you are looking for an air-conditioned room make sure to ask for one. Complimentary coffee, tea, chocolate and bottle of water in your room.

We found this hotel to be of excellent quality and were pleasantly surprised at the standard considering how reasonably priced it was. They have recently installed a new terrace on the top of the premises which was great on a warm night to sit and have drink or a bite to eat. It was very close to the tram stop so getting to all the major sights was very easy. Staff were great, and if I had to mention any negative, our room did get a little bit of noise when the traffic was busy. But I would definitely go there again, as would my 4 friends.

Excellent value for money: hotel Julian is a small, very pleasant hotel! It is very close (1 minute walk) to the nearest tram station. Tram service is excellent in Prague and will take you anywhere in a very fast and convenient way. Good breakfast and WIFI really made available for free to customers. Very disappointed with the room - it had velux type windows & you had to be extra careful not to bang your head - it made the room feel quite small. I also felt the hotel was only a 3* and definitely not a 4* as advertised. The hotel was also quite a bit further from Charles Bridge than you were lead to believe. The breakfast was excellent & the staff in this area were very nice. Overall I didn't find the staff particularly helpful in terms of general tourist information & directions.

This was my first visit to Prague and I went for Christmas. It was a fantastic trip. I can't wait to go back. Not far from the hotel toward the "most Legii" are several fine breakfast/lunch spots. I enjoyed especially the crepes. An ample closet was on my right as I entered my room; the toilet and modern shower were on my left. The bedroom itself was much smaller than I anticipated after seeing the pictures on-line and that was my only disappointment. Breakfast was great, the library with a great fire place was a fine place to read when I came in from hours of walking. I had made reservations ahead of time with Prague Airport Shuttle and was happy that I had done that since there was no difficulty getting from the airport to the hotel. I had booked on-line all my theater and opera tickets and these were delivered directly to the hotel on the day of the first performance. I walked for hours every day and loved it! I chose the Allegro Restaurant at the Four Seasons for Christmas dinner (fantastic!), and spent my final day doing a tour of Theresianstadt, about 35 miles from the city. I didn't need all the day-tickets that I purchased for local transportation but the tram is very convenient if one doesn't care to walk a lot.

Have already recommended the Julian to others. Perfectly located to remain "off the beaten track" a little, but within VERY easy travelling distance of all the places/sites visitors need to get to. The surrounding area contains very affordable restaurants and bars less expensive than in the dead centre of town. The trams leave from just around the corner. The hotel itself was very clean and efficiently organised, the room pretty spotless and well designed to minimise both interior and exterior noises. The buffet breakfast - included - is fabulous, offering more choices than we imagined. The staff were all helpful and friendly and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if/when we return to Prague.
